I made this today and it is so amazing! So fragrant and tender, the whole family loves it! I did add a bit of garlic and a tiny dash of 5 spice powder to the braised mixture, the nice smell is out of this world! I even made the thinly sliced version for my dysphagia 73 y.o. father, and he totally loves it, he can eat it with no problem because the pork really melts in the mouth. Thank you sooo much for sharing this recipe! Wish you many blessings in return!

I follow ur instruction and i like salty flavor but it is way too salty. I am sure it is because of the light and dark SoySauce brand i used. I am using ABC brand. I will buy good one and try again.

Hi, if I want to make this one night in advance should I separate the meat and the sauce the night before, store in the fridge, and then reduce the sauce with the meat placed back in the next day? Thank you!

@@spicenpans so I can just...take it off the heat and store everything (meat and sauce together) in the fridge, and then just boil to reheat the next day - and the meat won't get harder/too salty? LOL simple makes my life easier

Is there a substitute for the Chinese white rice wine? That’s heard to get in the Netherlands. I can get the Shaoxing wine.

That looks amazing! I don't suppose you can tell me how chinese takeaway bbq sauce is made? What is added to the water the ribs are cooked in? I am 100% going to have to make these. Thanks for sharing.
