@@sagstar 😂😂 I’m thinking about it too, I really like the dish they did with the mushrooms and scallions overs the dongpo. I was like alright, y’all got me!!!
I made this today and it is so amazing! So fragrant and tender, the whole family loves it! I did add a bit of garlic and a tiny dash of 5 spice powder to the braised mixture, the nice smell is out of this world! I even made the thinly sliced version for my dysphagia 73 y.o. father, and he totally loves it, he can eat it with no problem because the pork really melts in the mouth. Thank you sooo much for sharing this recipe! Wish you many blessings in return!
This is the first recipe of yours that I made. Since then, I've been making it once a week without fail. This recipe has become my 100% most recommended to family and friends!

I've tried pork belly in the past without much success so I went into this one with some doubts. But this was amazing! It will definitely be on the dinner rotation.
Like your recipes, simple and home style. I made your steamed prawn rice roll and my son loves it, the roll is smooth like the restaurant. Thanks for sharing
Thank you for the recipe :). However it would have been great to see how you 'Completed" this dish to serve? For example how did you finish the sauce/gravy?
I used to got headache thinking of what to cook for almost everyday. But thanks to you Chief, now i've no more worry.I just go to your U Tube, Channel and choose the recipe that i want to cook.

If I ever do get to come home anytime soon, I really hope to run into one of your live cooking demo to personally thank you! Will definitely try this dish out (personal childhood fav of mine), and my new fav dish is no longer Maggie mee. It’s the steamed sotong you posted!!!! Love your videos mate!’ Please don’t stop 🤟
I tried this today. Smell really nice which bring back memories of eating this dish for the first time at Clementi back in 2014 when i was in Singapore. I follow ur instruction and i like salty flavor but it is way too salty. I am sure it is because of the light and dark SoySauce brand i used. I am using ABC brand. I will buy good one and try again. ❤️❤️ As always thanks for sharing this recipe. Stay Safe n Stay Strong.
I've made this several times and it is absolutely mouth-wateringly delicious. When I recently went to Thailand, I ordered this very dish. It was on the same par to what I make at home, so I am well chuffed.

If I want to sear the pork belly first for some added texture, should I still boil it before I sear it or is it accomplishing the same thing?
I would boil it after searing it, but I don't think you would get much texture out of a short fry in the pan
