Sure miss my 1978 R model Mack, loved that truck. It was one pullin' machine. When I went out of business, it sure hurt my feelings to sell it. Thanks for bringing back the memories and I'd love to drive one again, too old now I guess, but just loved it. Once a trucker, always a trucker!!
I’m right there with ya brother, I drove a 75’DM800 hauling coal during the summer 82’-85’ in SE Ky. I had to learn quick, one mistake in the wrong place and it’s game over, over the mountainside. It had a 300 plus and 15 Tri-Plex and like you said, do nothing but pull. It had #55k bogies so she wouldn’t win any races but could pull with anything.
