bro! same with me, I just bought it today! I feel like this was the last BM camera that had a unique film character to it. Got one off of Adorama for $700 (after taxes).
Hi.Thx for sharing this very nice work in terms of photography ( framing -light & all shooting options ) and also post productions ( editing - grading ) : You offer here a very nice piece of WORK ;-) . Can you tell me ( us ) what you think about about BMMCC ease of operation / versatility / all the optional equipment you need to make the BMCC a real "on the field " for framing, focusing, stabilizing ? Thx again ;-)
I wasn't sure if I was going to edit in real-time or slow-motion. This was the first time I was using the camera too so it's just a bit of an experiment. My thought process was this... If I thought I'd be would be editing real-time, I'd shoot 30fps (or 24) at 180 degrees. If I wanted to edit in slow-motion I'd record in 60fps at 180 degrees. If I wanted to edit some in realtime and some in slowmo but shoot all the same, I split the difference and shoot at 60fps at 270 degrees. The LEDs of street light where interfering with 270 so I shot at 216 (towards the direction of editing in slowmo). I hope this makes sense. If I shot at 60fps and wanted to edit realtime, I'd need 360 degrees but this wouldn't be good for slowmo.
10bit vs 8bit there's no contest. If lighting is perfect, you can get good results from a good 8bit camera like the Sony but lighting is seldom perfect. the Blackmagic's dynamic range adds a lot to the quality of the footage. The two cameras are in different leagues. Slo-mo is a nice feature on the Sony. Very different cameras for very different applications.
I've actually been thinking of selling my blackmagic pocket and getting an A7Sii. I love the 10 bit(12 in raw) and 13 stops when grading, but I'm not getting what I want anymore out of it. Had it for years and have done lots of things with it, but ironically it's missing some magic. Maybe you can take a look at one of my recent travel videos and tell me what you think.
You have some great videos. The Blackmagic is the GoPro of cinema cameras. The A7sII is an accomplished video camera. I'd personally rather be a small fish in a big pond with an entry-level cinema camera. I just love the footage from the Blackmagic. Depends what you need it for. I was looking at the A7 range too but I'd get A7s and A7r but don't want to double up my kit. For me, RX100 and BMMCC is a great combination for travelling. An IS lens on the BMMCC is a great combination. If you set up the A7sII well and make full use of the log profile, I'm sure you could get really good results too - low light and slo-mo are great tools to have. If you want cinematic, you can probably make the A7sII look cinematic too. I tend to buy new kit every now and again anyway, there's always something to be learned. You never know how a new camera behaves until you try it - specs can be misleading.
+Vladimir, I've just bought this combo BMMCC + SB EF-BMPCC T ... has come yesterday, but I couldn't until now get it latched, the SB doens't touch the BMMCC metal mount face. Have you had any issue like that? Have you done any adjustment? Thanks.
Vinnie Herrera can you explain what you mean by it doesn't touch the mount face? The SB fits extremely tightly to the BMMCC this is apparently by design to keep things very secure. The problem I had was that there was no communication between BMMCC and SB (no aperture control and no power for IS). In the end I describe red that this is because the locking pin on the BMMCC doesn't extend enough into the SB so the camera doesn't know a lens is attached. I drilled a tiny amount of metal (the slightest amount of dust) out of the corresponding hole in the SB and the problem was fixed. You may be having a different issue. If you explain further, I'll try to help.
I cant latch the SB to BMMCC ... actually it couldnt touch face to face (SB x BMMCC mounts), it seems like there is some interference ... I'll take some pictures and send you later... what is your e-mail? Thank you so much.
Vinnie Herrera Can you send me a Private Message? If you can't, my website is www.vladimirmorozov.co.uk, you can message me via there and I'll give you my email address.
I'm starting to think there's some kind of bent with the blackmagic or speedbooster mount ... I'll try a borrowed M43 lens to check BMMCC mount. Any idea? I had no time to take pictures yet.
It’s 2020, this video was just the icing on the cake that locked me into buying the BMMCC as my A camera

great decision, didn't regret buying it as a main cam. Worked perfectly for me on the latest project

Thats looks great. Better then new BMPCC4k.
So Beautiful. Thanks for not grading too blue (Don't know why many try to mach blockbuster look). This is nice.
Thanks for sharing this, beautifully shot and well edited.
Very well done. Thank you for sharing this.
Very nice and liken the colors. It looks natural. Thanks.

will love to see a before and after color grading comparison
Really nice! Well done.
This music is beautiful, what is it? It sounds like a soundtrack from something familiar.
Very nice!
Отлично! Спокойно, не принужденно, гармонично посмотрел с удовольствием!
Wow!.
Beautiful. Did you use much of a rig? What monitor did you use?
Jim Lazos I used the BMD smaller monitor and a SmallRig rig. Which was just a cage and a side handle.
this is really nice. Why the high shutter angle?

Kinda makes sense. Thanks for the answer, man. How are you liking this compared to your Sony? I shoot with the bmpcc

What lens are you using here?
