This is in my top 3 in my collection and I'm so happy you have your thoughts on it! One thing I can say about it's performance - amazing! Projection, longevity and spillage checks all the boxes - for me!
Aaron you are looking so sharp and great at the moment. Life is clearly treating you well. Thanks for another brilliant review. I love this fragrance. It gets better as it settles and is truly a classic.
Thank you for your review on this. I just picked this up a few days ago, tried it on and mixed a little of Molecule 02 with it on one arm and just BDJ on the other. Both scents lasted me on skin for about 24hrs, the molecule 02 + BDJ lasting a bit longer with a stronger scent. I did a full day of cardio, running errands, meeting with friends for brunch, grilling outside, and this smell still lasted and endured the entire day. I'm not sure if maybe its just my skin type, but this lasts way longer for me than most people say it lasts for them. Love this ❤
The initial lavender this projects is absolutely brutal. If I could just bottle the 8th hour of this frag and keep it linear for 5 hours, I think it could quite possibly be a perfect formulation. It reminds me of a cool uncle at a christening in a grey suit in the 80’s, the kind of uncle who was up to speed with the latest technology at the time, he would have had a brick mobile phone, a top of the range VCR, silver casio watch and a walkman with black sponge headphones.
Thanks Aaron- I just love this fragrance. Both the skin scent and the surrounding cloud it makes are delicious. I would probably like an 80's musk version of this even more! Almost everything about Beau De Jour is superior to the typical perfume samples I've been testing lately especially longevity. Upon application I love it all the way to the final moments of the dry down.
I bought this for my dad last year for his birthday and he absolutely loves it. Takes a classic and timeless DNA and makes it modern, palatable and so lovely. I would wear it myself
Blown away by your insight Aaron, points like adding musk would date this frag is the kind of stuff that sets you apart. Hair and burley beard kick-ass as well :D Keep the brilliance coming!
I got a sample of this year and on first sniff I wasn't entirely sold (I find barbershop fragrances a bit sickening) but have persevered and like it enough to own a small bottle. Perfect for this time of year. Rogue Perfumery do some great modern interpretations of older style fougeres. Chypre Siam in particular is intriguing. I have a sample but now considering purchasing. One perhaps for a future review?
The fragrance that Beau De Jour smells like is Zino Davidoff. It's like a niche version of that. I like layering Beau De Jour with Calvin Klein Obsession. I love the way it smells and get great performance with it on my skin.
Thank you Aaron. You are the only perfume reviewer (perfumer) who I trust. Too many perfume reviewers out there with bigger numbers and little knowledge. Great review Aaron! I had a bottle of the private blend version, and to my nose that one had quite a pronounced cumin note on top that I liked, but I know isn't very popular. That is totally missing from this version, which I also like!

Zino is a different smell and vintage has nothing to do with Beau de Jour
Aaron, how do you get such a nice tan? Is it fake? MT2?
Really interesting comparison to Kouros...I didn't get that at all but am keen to smell them side-by-side suddenly!
The way its blended remids me of Kourous. But it isnt like it when you put it side by side
Hi Aaron thanks for your YT Chanel, love to watch your reviews. I will be very happy to se how you review Marc Antoine Barrois- Ganymede
I still haven’t smelled this one Aaron but I do love lavender fragrances
Very very interesting style of description… but I do like it.👍
Would love to see what you think about Costa Azzura :)
I've been forever looking for the private blend. 😩
I got a 50ml and after the first spray, I ordered a 100ml.
phenomenal modernized by amber fougere dna. My favorite perfume for life.
This will be my next spring fragrance
Awsome review. Can you do Chanel Antaeus in the future?
Yes
Any recomendation for barbershop fragrance but longer lasting than BDJ?
A modernised (but not as unique) "Tuscany Per Uomo" to my nose. That 1984 cologne. Still in production, but hardly the same perfume...
I would love you to assess MDCI Chypre Palatin!
Aaron!
I just LOVE your voice and ur microphone just gives your zen voice justice..
What microphone do you use?
I am not sure! I will ask the sound technician
@@AaronTerenceHughes Please and thank you :)
Bought it for my dad and he loved it .. I love it as well 👌 A manly mans fragrance. It has freshness, green, erathy, freshspicy, woody to die for. Wear this when it is 🌧 and you will smell amazing
Sorry I need to correct myself . I refered to this as a 4711 clone but I was thinking of neroli portofino.
I was about to get this one cuz I enjoy the smell, but is the projection that bad? After this review, I stared to worry that the performance will be not worth it.
Has anyone told you that you look and sound like Harald "Finehair" from Vkings?
Awesome review, btw!
I kind of see it! 2023 will be a viking/pirate release
i must say i smelt this and put it down right away as for 30.00 azzaro smells near on identical i thought, also lasts all day for a cheap smell
Perhaps review of M. A. Barrois Ganymede in the future ...?
Aaron, appreciate your videos and entrepreneurship. But clue me in to the NASA sweat shirt? Was just asking a younger colleague why the NASA logo keeps popping up on clothing. He googled it and said it was a trend. That explanation fell flat, like so many of my fragrance selections. Give some insight please.
Amazing review! do you take suggestions for the next one to review?
We actually have the next year lined up! But you can suggest
@@AaronTerenceHughes oh wow! 🤯 I’d definitely suggest French Waltz by Golf Le Fleur, i’m very curious what your thoughts on it will be, thanks for replying so fast!
