- In this segment from our longer "Not Invented Here" interview, Dr Christopher Snowdon examines the environmental movement's puzzling resistance to proven climate solutions. He focuses on two key examples: nuclear power and GM foods, where environmental groups consistently oppose technologies that could help achieve their stated goals.
The discussion reveals how historical events like Chernobyl shaped anti-nuclear sentiment, despite nuclear power being one of the most effective tools for fighting climate change. Snowdon points out the stark contrast between environmentalists' embrace of climate science and their rejection of scientific consensus on nuclear safety, noting that Chernobyl's death toll pales in comparison to ongoing deaths from coal pollution.
The conversation extends to GM foods, particularly golden rice, where activist opposition has prevented a solution to malnutrition in developing nations. Snowdon argues this resistance stems from environmentalists' romanticised view of organic farming rather than scientific evidence, highlighting how ideological preferences can block practical solutions to urgent global challenges.
CO2 has greened the earth by about 40% over the past 40 years according to NASA. Almost all the warming that has occurred since the terrible Little Ice Age occurred PRIOR to 1919 (before there was much CO2 being added to the atmosphere). CO2 is not a problem
these green luddites were brought up on the BBC TV series "Good Life" and think its a documentry and not a comedy show.
These activists are their own worst enemy.
No they are our worst enemy.....😉
Bring on gen 4, gen 3 in a time of war are just waiting for their cooling systems to get hit by drones.
Gen 4 will fail safe unlike current nuclear plants
Lol, why do you even make videos. No one takes you seriously after you supported Liz Truss's mini budget.
I bet your take on climate is equally as great as your take on macroeconomics.
You should reflect on your life and how you are spending it shilling for some secretive rich donors instead of contributing something useful to humanity
These videos are made to counter the toxic green doctrine... which unchallenged has lead to increased poverty, fear and hunger. Carbon based cheap energy has...... massively increased life expectancy, lifted millions out of poverty and fed the world. Its down side are alleged global boiling and huge rises in sea levels...... both which are more scare than factual. Carbon based energy sources are the new bogie man.... its tooo hot climate change, its tooo cold (latest from the BBC) climate change, its tooo dry climate change, its tooo wet climate change. Its stupid..... climate change. 🤣
