- Michael Clarke was in the form of his life in the 2012 Adelaide Test against South Africa, highlighted by the five boundaries he slammed from one Morne Morkel over
Спорт
In 2012 , Michael Clarke scored 4 double centuries ( including 329 vs India) and a very talented test cricketer
2011 not 12
1595 runs in 2012 he made in test calendar year he was best form of in his life.
During 2012 , clarke scored 4 double centuries
Clarke best year
He can score a 400runs also but he declare inning at 324 runs against india
@@sridharreddy3692 not 324 , he scored 329 in that inning
@@arindamnaskar5401 thank you bro i got confused 😊😊😊
If it wasn't for his back problems, he would have been one of the all time greats. He was fabulous in 2012.
He still was one of the all time greats imo
@@Tom-fj1zx one of the modern greats not all time imo
In 1999 one cricketer also suffered the same. As per your hypothesis if he also doesn't get back problem he would have been biggest and greatest sportsmen in the history across all sports. However he still touched the summit of most of cricketing achievements and considered as one of the All time great in cricket.
Already he is....
@@azakive Michael Clarke is an all-time great.
This has to be the best test series which i have witnessed . I was 13 yrs old then .What a brilliant series .Michael Clarke's 2 double hundreds,Faf's debut and match saving century , ABD's blockathon,ABD's breezy century in 3rd test match ,Amla 's breezy century in the 3rd test match. This 3 match series is a prime example why we need 5 day test match. At the end of the series ,Australia was the better team in my opinion but South Africa won the 3 test series 1-0.What a series man.
What year was this series?
Agreed but u left out Steyn's unreal spell in the 3rd test with one of the greatest balls I've ever seen to get Clarke
@@1flame149 South Africa tour of Australia 2012-13.
@@aaaaaaaaa790 Yes Abdul bhai sorry i missed out that ball of dale steyn .I guess it was the second innings of the 3rd test match
*Australia was given the target of 632 runs in the 3rd Test*
2012 Clarke = 2006 Ponting. Phenomenal batting at the peak of their careers 🔥
With due respect, in 2006 Mohammad Yousuf was the Highest run getter with 1788. It is a world record.
@@ImranKhan-he8bd Yh hes just saying that in 2006 Pontinf was at his best bot that he was the best in the world

That first lofted cover drive was pure gold
It’s just amazing watching Michael Clarke around his prime!
Even after so much heroics from Clarke in that test South Africa still managed to snatch a draw as far as I remember. This shows how good that SA team was, other teams morale could have easily get bogged down if they get hammered like this on the opening day of a test.
SA will win this series
You're absolutely Right.
And that is why I always say that Grarme Smith is the best Captain SA has ever had.
The man is a true leader.
@@murtazashabbir4587 True. Biff was a true leader and lead from the front always
i was 9 yrs back then aur mai australia ko support kar raha tha becoz mera favourite mike hussey tha.
That back issue robbed him of the Legend status...He could well have ended with 10-12k runs in Test cricket...Last couple of years were mediocre from his standards as he struggled to cope with his issue...That duel against Morkel and subsequent hundred after being bruised and battered with a dodgy back is something that makes you love this game
Yaa, he is a great though!
I agree everything you have said but just one thing "robbed him of the legend status" , dude , even with back issue he's still a legend of cricket.
@@YekaYeptho He certainly is for me... However for general fans his name isn't taken in the same breath as some of the modern day greats as one would like...One of the reasons is that his numbers took a massive dive in the last year or so of his career, even average fell below 50...People do have a recency bias and they do forget how good a batsman he was in his prime
he will be at least in a status with Ponting Waugh Border..as he led aus to a wc win. best test batsman before kohli-smith era.
Phil Hughes death took the cricket life out of Michael Clarke. Was not the same after that combined with back.
And South Africa won that series
Thanks to amazing batting of Amla AB Faf n Smith
SA always beat us LOL
@@hugh_mungus0184 yep especially in Australia
@@rajab4187 yeah, your right.....just 1 of those wired cricket anomalies
How much did they score on that day 1?
@THE DESTROYER yeah, it's wired. Aust and SA summer's are at the same time....we go there beat them, 2 weeks later they come here and touch us up
No disrespect to Morne Morkel... legendary fast bowler
@Hugo Mawdsley LOL ...10 likes for every boundary, I guess
legendary , not quite bit surely one of the best having an off day ...Technically, hes kind of Glen McGrath type for South Africa but many more injuries in his career and usually reliable to stop runs
@@njas8303 Are you literally comparing him with Glenn McGrath?
I ain't giving u any explanation ... I like Morne Morkel !!!...
@@njas8303 Quite a unique choice for Morkel to be your best bowler when there other South Africans themselves who are better, anyway you can have your own opinion.
Michael Clarke in his prime (2012) was as good as Ricky Ponting in his prime (2003).
Ponting 2006 also
Just one year of prime...???

He is an all time greats
Michael Clarke was a class act. He always hammered us (Indians). He was the right successor to Rickey Ponting's legacy.
He was in the form of his life in 2012-13
Really golden patch of his career.
He’s been very good since 2007-2013 and then he started dropping off a bit
One of the most stylish batsman ever!
Michael Clarke was such a daring captain..i still remember he onced declared the the first innings when the team was 237/9..just to get the Indian openers to play 5 overs at the days play...
Aussies lost that match by an innings. But he was at his best batting after Ponting left and he got the captaincy
Most underrated player and captain...
Now a days everyone is underrated for yo u morons
You sick idiot have some respect about religions whether you are believer or not... Change your bullshit channel name... You sick son of a *...

this was the time when clarke used to dominate the icc test rankings and with this kind of squad, SA vs AUS was an absolute joy to watch.
my favorite player got retired during this series and I was so heartbroken, I wasn't able to enjoy what turned out to be one of the best series during that time

What a wonderful class player he is ... A true legend ❤️ the most underrated Aussie batsman 😔
Probably one of the best seasons any batsman has ever had. He was untouchable.
Michael Clarke....
A pure classic batsman
We witnessed a underrated rivalry between clarke and cook that time
These 2 were best test player on that era
True. Their Legacy is not that much famous although
Sublime batting, its always fun with these two nations, the competitiveness is supreme
Watching this makes it feel like we haven't had cricket in 20 years, like the world as we knew it ended years ago and I've just discovered these highlights....
Man how badly I miss watching this man batting.
Such a gem of a player pure class ❤️
I have watched a lot of test cricket but Michael Clarke in 2012 was probably the best I have ever seen a batsman play.

Clean cricketing shots, great front foot and backfoot balance. Many score the runs but how they score is what matters

That cut shot and that on drive. Divine
