I met Brett just the once about 20 years ago. Super nice guy. I'm a DJ and he was at a pub where I was playing. He'd obviously had a bit to drink. This is often when "the real me" pops out of people's carefully crafted facade. He came and requested a song. He was very respectful & not at all demanding. None of this "Do you know who I am" vibe. He was there with Shane Watson. Both guys seemed like real genuine guys, very respectful of others and just wanted to have a good time like everyone else....which they did.
He is the best bowler of all times. In fact, those were the golden era of Aussie cricket just because of Brett Lee. I am glad to pass my schooling days, watching him.
He was first picked in the Australian side for his sheer pace. International batsmen were able to find him out. He went back to NSW for a couple of years, and worked a lot with McGrath. His second coming brought an absolute world class bowler!
