20 years on and still the tallest coaster in the UK.
It's manily because of council planning laws in the UK
Nat Kennedy Breese Ok...
+Nat “Lath Halius” Kennedy Breese Irrelevant really, it's still the UK's tallest now.
+Pleasure Beach Experience His point was not necessarily irrelevant if you think about it. Considering the only real two competitor parks alton towers and thorpe park both having specific ride height restrictions in their development plans, with thorpe park being at roughly 200 feet and alton towers much lower as they are not allowed to build above the tree line. Im sure if these restrictions were not in place one of the two might have built a B&M hyper or giga much taller than the big one. And so yes, while it is the tallest, it doesnt mean that his comment was irrelevant as that is pretty much the reason why nothing taller has been built
DualShockFury 200 feet for Thorpe Park? Geez no wonder most of the coasters are shit compared to what America has to offer
I've been on this roller coaster at least 5 times and I can tell you it certainly isn't 'lame'
he didn't mean the coaster was lame. if you've watched other videos of theirs. the guy Rob hates breaks because that means time to slow down or rides over lol. so that's what he was referring to as lame - the breaks on that part of the ride.
I'm a bit late but he was referring to the brakes because they killed the fun so he called them lame
He was talking about the brake run
Stan HH I agree
Yeah it's sooooooooo fun!!!!!
The slogan for this ride should be "Is Pepsi okay?"
CoasterRebel No it’s not
just to mention its was only called pepsi max because they had a deal for a few years
arrow hyper 1 looks to intense for me
Hyper Coaster 1 is really good value.
My heart always stops when it get close to the top, the view of the beach, the clicking sound.
I loved the Pepsi Max, me and my friends were scared but boy was I glad after! I wanted to go straight back on, if only you went around twice.
I went on that last october so fun, I went yesterday too but I went on InFusion instead but the Big One is still my favourite ride!
I absolutely loved this ride when I went on it with my dad last summer! Our school is taking us to Blackpool Pleasure beach as a reward trip this July before we break up for the holidays, and me and my friends will most certainly be going on this ride! :3
I'm a Malaysian, went to this theme park.In my opinion, this is the best theme park in the world! I ride Pepsi Big Max One three times and never got bored! :D A must visit park! 10/10
i LOVE this rollercoaster! it is amazing
When I went on it a few weeks ago, the trims didn't seem to cut in as much as that. Made for a slightly rougher but still awesome ending. This ride is crazy fun.
I'm going tomorow... So pumped! I'm going to see the lights too.
This was the first roller coaster I ever went on. :)
First ever proper roller coaster I rode!!! Loved it!
Great pov and coaster
Definitely one of the best rides there, just a little rough, but fantastic at the front!
this ride is awesome
Really need to go on this love Blackpool :)
Going to the pb on Tuesday can't wait for this ride :).
Classic Arrow: lonnnnng sections of straight track joined by small radius peaks, valleys, and turns! First drop is best part of this one.
Don’t forget the pointless catwalk during the ride 😂
The scariest part about it is that there is only a bar going across your lap and that is the only bit that keeps you in there. If your thighs are small, God bless you good luck on this ride.
Ikr like me
Madeleine Rose doesn't matter how small your legs are as long as you reach the height requirement you will not fall out. 99.99999% of the time
Sat at the front of this roller coaster yesterday... AMAZING.
Im going Blackpool Pleasure Beach tommorow soo exited!!!!
that ride looks so awesome
I loved this ride when I went on it :D
I going to Blackpool on Wednesday and if I have a courage pill I'll go on this
Did you go on?
+Squashed Potatoe yes 3 times
OMG It was scary!! (But I'm still here) xD
Hyper coaster 1 looks too scary for me

I am going in 2 weeks, can't wait :D x
OMG going to Blackpool tomoz gunna go on dis
The first scream machines lift hill audio clip was from theme park review on 2014/2015.
So cool. The best ride EVER
You should go on it, it's amazing!
LOVE LOVE LOVE it. Went on in 3 times in a row in the shittest weather!!!
Hopefully gunna go on this tomorrow when I go :D
Awesome!
ive been on this! bloody awesome!
effing hell never again,i thought i was gonna die from the shock,i was screaming with terror all the way through lol
I'm shaking jus watching this:O
I went on this about 6 years ago and I remember it being fab :D
I'm glad he skipped the lift hill. I went to Pleasurebeach back when I was in high school with the choir, and we sang the entirety of part 2 of Faure's Requiem between the bottom and the top of the hill. It was great though because we hit the loud climax of the song just as we went over, which made it about twice as dramatic. After that we couldn't sing for screaming, but you get the picture. :)
robotruss sez this vid rocks
@Hellwyck By the way, they renewed the sponsorship, it is still the Pepsi Max Big One. On the website for the park on the Big One's section, it states 'Sponsored by Pepsi Max'
AV BEEN OAN DIS SHIZ LAKS , IT WUS AMAZING LAKS XXXXXXXXX
Aahhh I'm going to Blackpool tomorrow!!
Going on it tomorow!
Haha, first two times I went on this I wasn't actually big enough and they neglected to measure me properly - my mom half-shielded me when we were walking through the barrier so the guys couldn't see me tip-toeing. I wasn't that much smaller than the limit, but still too small. Loved every second, and I keep going back for more (yesterday being my most recent ride) :)
@Coasterman2222
*AHEM* in 1994 it had no sponser and the Pleasure Beach staff called the first drop "The Big One" (the ride itself, beforehand was known as "Project '94" as can be seen on a plaque to the left of the exitway).
and I don't need to correct you with it's correct name.
You're telling me what it was called after Pepsi gave it sponsorship (which I already knew, having rode it since it's opening) and I - read this carefully - ASKED A QUESTION REGARDING ITS OLD NAME.
The only scary part is the first drop, after that it's quite tame and enjoyable. My advice would be to go on some other rides to get ready for example Infusion or one of the Wooden coasters, then just go for it: put your fears behind you and jump in. Like I said, the only scary bit is the first drop, then that's it.
went on it yesterday and lost my sunglasses but the ride was awesome
They used to have this coaster as an onride simulator at Europa Park to promote Silver Star.
Actually its both. Arrow built it originally, but years later, morgan was hire by the park to re-profile the main drop, along with other portions of the ride. Similar to the story behind Phantoms Revenge (originally Steel Phantom) at Kennywood in PA.
O M G !!! I was on that ride totally sick
had to go to blackpool three times before i could go on this!
I live in blackpool yay i go 2 the pleasure beach 4 times a month yay big whoop what is it everyone likes??
RollerCoaster Tycoon 1 anyone?
Garble The Dragon yes :P
I can't believe I actually plucked up the courage to go on this ride even though i'm scared og heights!... I went on it 4 times in a row haha
went on this for the first time 6months ago, dont do roller coaster and ended up at the front!!!! was act thrilling!!!!
I have been on that a million times like. I takes like 5 mins just to get to the top and once you get on top u r literally in the clouds lol it's AMAZING!!!!
It's not even very tall lmfao
I think my heart stopped for 3 seconds when it dropped off the first time.. But the amount of adrenaline probably added 3 years to my life, lool..
Woah this is almost 10 years ago
i can't believe a guy stayed on this for 17 days in a row with only a 5 minute break every 7 hours! wow. he had to sleep on the big dipper
Yay! The old log flume! ^^
I've Been On This. Went On It The Other Day! It's Was AMAZING!
The Pepsi Max One-Trick Pony. We all know about the famous "B&M roar". Well this features the Arrow rattle.
I last rode this in the Autumn, just a fortnight or so after having ridden the magnificent Shambala. Can we call them both roller coasters? The difference in experience was sooooo stark that one of them should possibly be re-branded as something entirely separate.
wahoo i went on this in april it was the best ride eva its awsome x
epic ride!
Really should go to Alton towers or Thorpe park especially with the smiler and the swarm
im waiting till ffriday saturday or sunday i cant wait
i remember i went the're and we we're at the top, and this kid behind me said he had changed his mind, i felt sorry for him, cuz he was in tears and everything, but the ride was stopped for ages while they got him out without the whole train crashing down the rollarcoaster! in the end i lost it...
pepsi max to the max
i love this ride but when i sat at the back at the top of the lift hill u get draged and i brade me arm of the side of the train but i still love it
No matter how many times I go to Blackpool I can never bring myself to go on this ride. :')
the brake in the middle sure killed the mood
got on this today, saw how high it went up and got off & left my brother on it by himself XD
looks awesome except the first lift hill should be either smaller or steeper so you get more airtime. i dont see a lot of airtime on this
I WANNA GO HERE NOWW
My sister and dad went in this me and my friend was watching and I could hear my sister screaming from all the way at the bottom lol
I lol'ed.
@xXxSexyEmoBoyxXx
Technically, only the first drop was ever called "The Big One" but people, being not in the know, named the whole thing as such.
you went to blackpool...and it wasn't raining? 0_0
Amaaaaaazing went on this with ma mates and went down screaming yoloooo!! Hahaha
Oh joy. Guess where I'm going on Tuesday!
I have only been to blackpool pleasure beach once (and the only time i have ever been on a rollercoaster) This was fucking scary! But the first drops is all you need to worry about the rest isn't half as bad as that! :)
faced my fear on it today best ride iv been on
if you sit at the back it feels like its going to pull you of the track because the other carts are pulling you down
the front seat feels like your droping in to the sea
i went on that ride i couldnt look down.... same as on the tango ice blast i couldnt open my eyes because when i do it urges me and i just see the ground fall away...
What's the difference between the original drop and the modified one???
Went on this yesterday was so much fun! Not scary at all would Deffo recommend this has nothing on the sky coaster (not a rollercoaster) it's on the south pier and is basically you in a harness taken up 400ft and then dropped.. Plus you can go over the sea so it's great!!!
This coaster is soooooooooooo similar to the Phantom's Revenge @ Kennywood Park
When I went I got a wristband and it was £35, I dont think you can get the tickets now because every rides got a scanner that scans the wirstband bar code.
(it was like a fews about i went)
I was gutted came to Blackpool to go on the big one but the wind had to come and spoil it
i remember this it is fucking amazing
