As usual I was just letting RUclips play in the background, when the singer started on All Night Long I had to take a look, Lauren Connor! I thought she just shredded guitar. And sure enough, there she was on Baracuda. Now That's Entertainment. I recognize the drummer, bass guitarist and rhythm guitarist too: what's the line up?
I've seen a few dozen School of Rock locations, and the students range in age from 8 to 18, and there are generally as many girls and young women learning as there are boys and young men. But generally, more female singers, equal number of male and female guitar players, more female bass players and keyboard players, and more male drummers than female. That said, I've seen some amazing male singers. Look through my channel, and you'll see that pretty much every AllStar group, a collection of the very best players from more than 300 locations, is composed of equal numbers of male and female - not that anybody is trying to fill any sort of quota, but that's just how it works out. When you provide girls and young women a nurturing environment, where they can learn without dealing with all the bullshit that crops up in a garage, you'll see some absolutely astonishing female players.
To get to the AllStars, you have to be in your local house band. And they'll still be doing regular shows the rest of the year - AllStars is only one month during the summer.
I know these kids, and they're musical encyclopedias. the entire history of rock music is instantly available to them by their phones, so why wouldn't they take advantage of that?
All I get is the same feed that goes to the house speakers. As guitarists always seem to have their amps turned up too loud, that means they don't wind up in the house speakers. Nobody ever praises my video, they only complain about the audio, the only part I have no control over.
Let me apologize then. The video is excellent. It’s just sad that these kids voices get drowned out. Again I apologize for not realizing that you are just plugged into what is available.
Thank you. The only way I could get a feed that matches my video in terms of quality is to get isolated recordings of every microphone and do a full mix. I've only been offered that a couple of times in more than a decade of doing _School of Rock_ shows, and it takes even more time than doing the video edit. Honestly, this is not the worst - which shockingly happened at a venue where I normally get excellent audio. Frankly, I'm at the mercy of the skills of the audio engineer, and I'm not his or her top priority.
Lauren is a great singer and player. she also has the best hair. she's an absolute doll.

Bummer!! Lauren Conner is NOT a natural red head! I spied her dark roots on the AC/DC song. I am so bummed!
But she does what she does best on the Heart - Barracuda song and play guitar as only she can!!
