That floor tom needed to be involved, otherwise it was decent. I liked the pattern on the original too much, which each though it's simple flams, the pattern is going down the kit so you get a deeper sound.
Funny though how in 1970 Eric Clapton, Jimi Hendrix, the Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin were literally “playing 45 year old songs from 1925.” The irony here is incredible. The entire genre of rock music emerged from covers of the recorded blues music of the 1920s and 1930s. And many of THOSE songs were variations of much older spirituals and field hollers.
They’re both very good, but I gotta tell ya’ - the pipes on the girl in the red shorts are pretty spectacular. She sounds almost identical to the recording, at least to my ears. But overall, both of them - wow…just wow.
He is covering the great Charlie Watts. He did amazingly well....nothing or no one plays this song like the master. CW RIP. you are missed. Great cover tho.
This Performance of a Classic by a Very Young New generation of Musicians not only brings tears to my eyes by it give s me hope for the future of the passion of Rock and Roll, Lord have Mercy,!!
This is commendable, however, the Los Angeles group IMO delivered a superior rendition with the vocals of Lili Rise McKay & the powerhouse vocals of Darla Beaux. They took it to an even higher level.
This is a great rendition by these young, talented people. Maybe the best song from the greatest rock band of all time. I am truely amazed and happy that the younger generations enjoy doing the Stones music. Thinking about how this song came out probably before their parents were even born!!! Great job!
Ive watched multiple covers. These young ladies absolutely killed it. I cant imagine in a few years , definitely pros. With that being said, everyone held their own. BEST OF LUCK! TIM- 6/12/24

I'm sure the Stones wish every band covering this song "took off" like these two singers. When I'm watching SoR videos, I usually watch multiple versions of the same song back to back, so I've seen a bunch of schools playing Gimme Shelter over a bunch of years, and this one stands out.
Singing high harmony on Gimme Shelter is really difficult due to huge difference between the low and high harmony. She absolutely nailed the high harmony!
this needs to be filmed in a studio so we can really get better accoustics, cuz these ladies absolutely killed it vocally. i think doin this in a studio would push this into top tier of SOR top 10 for me.
Lead vocalist does have some bluesy quality in her pipes. Hope these young folks are still enjoying performing . I always hear Grand Funk Railroad covering this in my mind.
I've done a lot of videos of musical groups, bar bands, classical, orchestra, auditions, teen idol...... but man, I wished I'd had a chance to work with this group! Their energy is just contagious.
Sorry to be so late to this party. Two very distinctive vocalists at work on this Stones' classic, and backed by a solid group of musicians at every turn. Really well done!
Very well done! Excellent! Kudos to the girl in the red shorts for trying to duplicate the original singer's controlled break in the mid-song vocal solo. Very difficult to pull off and it took guts to give it a go!
Brilliant .... lots of energy ... just felt a little sorry for the guitarist though ... no matter how good you're playing and sounding ... when you have two gorgeous girls singing we are never gonna look at you ... loved it ....
Kudos. great job. I've seen lots of the School of Rock performances throughout the country. I've enjoyed your group the best. Vocals were excellent, Band was right on point, and the group as a whole had as very nice stage presence!
That was really cool. A great song. The students did a fantastic job. Only recently i see a young girl do the same Rolling stones tune, i think her name is Nandi Bushnell !!
Excellent rendition and a different dynamic with dual female vocals. Would be interesting to know what the members of the band are doing now musically?
The Girl in the red pants … she had so much power and let it out !!!! Very nice …
The mixing had much to do with it with the Reverb
She got a huge voice that's only going to get better.
@@FredTheLutinoCocatiel as with every professional sound board in existence .
The whole group deserves credit for doing a really good version. Drummer was excellent.

This is cool because when I was their age in 1970, I wasn't playing 45 year old songs from 1925.
This one is actually 55 years old.
If you were in a school band like they are, you would have.
Early jazz or classical?
Coolramone gives the video his seal of approval. 👍

You ladies are amazing. My suffereject mother would be proud. Rock on in life
I think I'm close to 50 too. Incredible performance

The drummer's keeping it all together. Brilliant group.

Drummer sounds really good. Good cover. The two girls harmony is really good. I love the sound of the drums. Loud.

Glad To See Young People Enjoy Great Rock Classics..............
that's the jist of it, dean. every thing else is bollocks.
Now, if only the record labels would try to find music like that and release it
I've watched several school of rock groups perform this song. This band just nailed it. Great, clean voices and instrument playing.
I think mixing had something to do with it too
Agreed, they tore it up!

46 years later, the song is still sung
Now is 2022, so it's 51 years later, and this incredible song is still going strong, if not stronger....
This song is timeless! Always been my favorite Stones song.

The Rolling Stones should take the woman in the red on tour, if they do another one she is a special talent so solid she has a great voice
I'd take both.

Kenneth Goin if you look up the story on this song it wasn’t that all controlled lol
I may be wrong but I think Merry Clayton was in early stages of labor when she sang this one.
Great cover! You nailed it!
Great balance on the mix....
Hell's bells - where were all these gorgeous Rock Chicks when I was _their_ age?
Great song, great voice. thx
Great energy on stage! So cool seeing that much energy as compared to bands that just stand there, like waiting for a bus.
Excellent vocals!!
Should show more of the band though.
