Does that mean you will let us self host UID for free for more then 5 users just so we can choose who can answer a doorbell instead of "Only administrators"?
Or self host Access without dedicated hardware?

That one i understand. They had a really nasty field update to do that required some pretty serious changes. They took a lot of time to get it right and not accidentally brick machines.

Hey Ubiquiti...time for you to take on Barracuda. I've had it with 19 levels of sales agents, endlessly escalating off-site backup costs and the responsiveness of a moribund parrot. Ypu've effectively killed Meraki (they just don't know it yet) I nominate Barracuda Networks as the next target, Cap'n.

I have some accountancy software, every year they impose a 7% increase to the license. This year they said we had to upgrade to their new cloud system, no option a year one increase of 700% - we are moving companies. I have no issue paying for hardware and software I have issues with people, who think they can generate their profits of my hardwork without giving me any benefits, or increasing. Their margins without justification.

That alone is a lock-in/dependence on them and their cloud and not a fully locally runnable product.

Worst part is, Meraki hardware isnt even that good... They put money into premium matte aluminum enclosures to make them LOOK like they are high end, but their numbers are quite bad for the price... And their cloud management is simplicity at a fault (literally didnt even have SSLVPN capabilities till a little while ago when they managed to shoehorn AnyConnect in...)
    It's awful...
