Gotta love a cleaning/refreshing video👌🏽 When I purchased my Miata, both windows were in the same shape except they were being held up with vice grips lol. It’s possible to fix the metal wires that go into the regulator but it may end up being a headache. I hope you find your solution for it soon!
I've been struggling to find the more obscure parts for my gsx, and have been able to get by but at a cost. The only thing we can hope for is that someone takes it upon themselves to create solutions/replacements so we can keep these cars alive.
I just have the 3000 GT SL. I had the motor rebuilt. 🔑👠🎀⛽😁 I have to take it back into the shop since it is still being broke in for a free oil change at 500 miles. The car has 133,000 miles on it. I thought I had better get it done before there are no parts left. It also has a new exhaust, so it now sounds deeper! The man that worked on it said that when he could not find parts for it, He tried the Dodge Stealth places and found parts, so you might try them if you are having trouble finding parts for your window. Your car is awesome and I hope you get it completely done! I heard that there were only 17,000 made in 1998, like my car!
Good stuff. Some lil advice if you plan to do any other ones later: A rust conversion spray would do you really good to neutralize any slight rust that was there from sanding, even though it's been cleaned. Then your primer, or Evercoat makes an awesome black matte paint called "Black it out". really durable as well. On the regulator, Now you know the regulator is bad, find out who recables them. The window can be propped up with a lil block trick by screwing 2 small pieces of wood together with drywall screws, then prop up the window front and back using cloth as a soft base and using any holes in the door where some stuff may have bolted, just screw the board in and you should be fine.

Really nice looking 3000 GT, and its sounds awesome. I have one 1996, not vr4 like yours but is a lovely car. They are really well designed sports cars thank you for sharing.
You need a window regulator from a 97-99. The mounts are different from a 91-96. It's a common issue the top plastic wheel part breaks from being this old. Your best bet is the 3000gt stealth facebook marketplace. If you do find a used one look for the cracks in the plastic part of the regulator. You can use a plastic epoxy or JB weld to keep it from breaking like yours did.
I am planning the same thing on my 2G, freshen it up, as far as figuring out the regulator look at the driver side one as reference, should be the same set up and mechanical functions as the passenger..
@@MiguelDsm it had little metal plates that can be removed looking kinda rusty, I need to take them off,sand them and clean it up. It's been something on my list since early December, I just got other things I been doing so it got put on a back burner
The motor works but the regulator is busted. If you can get both regulator and motor together since parts are scarce on these cars. Also check to see if you find them for a dodge stealth R/T..
Hey Miguel. 3SX sells replacement window regulators for 97-99 3000GTs. Unfortunately, they're almost double the price of the 91-96 regulators since the 97-99 cars are much more rare.
check with a dodge dealership parts house or a mitshu one they may still have a regulator somewhere in their inventory yet or may find one at another dealership they also have a scymatics for the cars so you can see which part you need. what needs to be done is to have demand for the parts then some manhufactor may start supplying parts for them like it happened with the muscle cars and rods.
@@MiguelDsm they should know if is intercangable plis grab the parts number off yours that will call up if it is or not Miguel and they may have used that same part on another of their cars. like the avenger they used parts from the DSM on those.
Owned one for 10yrs had to let it go as parts were becoming hard to find and most had to come from Japan which can take weeks which ain't good when it's your daily driver.

Update 3sx on the used parts they a bunch of doors said some with glass and panels some with out .. check it out .There’s a guy he has a channel he goes over the window reg and how to adjust them and he has video on the door locks as well .. think the channel is 3000gt gto restoration good luck It’s been two years and still haven’t found one yet .. luckily mine isn’t out yet just thinking about the future lol
10:20 yoooo oddly enough that’s the same color that’s on my 3k😭well was. I fully sanded it because the paint job was terrible. There were run marks everywhere and it was chipping in some areas.
Although I love eclipses a million times more. I’ve always wanted to buy a actual Mitsubishi gto to compete and fuck with my buddies 2005 gto because he’s a die hard gm dude and troll him.

You can still buy new window regulators from Mitsubishi Japan. I just got one for each door delivered to me a few weeks ago.
Maybe you can have someone rebuild the regulator. Or maybe check other Mitsubishis from the same era? Maybe check Japan for GTO regulators.
You should do a vin check see what number produced you have.
Also did you mod your side skirt brake ducts?
My 98 has the same door gap issue. Gonna fix it this weekend

Hmm that’s good insight. Although the stealth wasn’t made after 96 if I recall. I don’t think they’ll have the regulator in stock

that will rust again.. more sanding and rust converter. Maybe epoxy rust converter+Primer.
