  • In this episode of the Outsiders, Noah and Mark took a trip down to the Lower Niagara River in search of some steelhead and salmon. With it being the middle of October they are not sure what they might pull out of the river. Make sure to watch the whole episode to see the 6 different species they are able to catch!

    What a day! Where is this exactly? I know it's the niagra US side but how would I get here from Canada?

    Dude, that is an awesome day! Giants of every species! As a multi-species angler I would have been ecstatic haha
    It's a little bit of a ride for me (about an hour and a half) but your making me think I need to fish the Niagara more often lol. My favorite moment in all of fishing is that feeling you get when you don't know what species is at the end of your line but you know that it's big! I could see you and your Dad had that feeling a lot this video haha, congrats again on an epic day!

      OK now it's getting personal, Yesterday Early AM, my first cast, a new Lil Cleo Blue and silver spoon. The lure hits the water and boom, a large steel-head is out of the water doing his tail dance..Cool I say to myself...Yeah right half a second later Ping goes my line, and to add insult to injury that SOB of a fish, winked at me and shot me the middle Fin!!! I'm going back at sun rise and this time I'm bringing hand grenades, C-4 explosive and maybe even a airstrike!!! Gloves are off!! LOL@@OutsidersOutdoorCo

    A nice mixed bag. One of the nice things about Niagara river and Lake O and Erie.....you can target one species but almost always get some extras.

    This entire steelhead season has been strange. No rain, tribs are low and slow with next to no fish in them. We should be in 75% full swing of steelhead season and we are nowhere near that.

      @@sonny9608 try fishing closer to the mouths, I've been doing pretty good in the lower to mid portions of the creeks in deep holes with little current👍

    • @ChrisG9978
      @ChrisG9978 10 месяцев назад

      I've landed a few dozen nice steelhead so far this season, most in the 20-30 inch range, 7-12 lbs and larger. Lots of browns in the Ontario tribs (Oak, Johnson and Sandy creeks) and plenty of steelhead in the Erie tribs (Catt, etc.) near the mouths. Catch rates are up if anything, as long as you're in the right spot using the right setups.

    You know, I have to give it to the US side of the Niagara River. The US side Generating Station at least gives shoreline anglers access to the Niagara River and safe places to fish. In contrast, the Canadian Side of the Niagara River gives jack squat nothing to shoreline anglers. There are a few spots available on the Canadian side, but none are decked out in safe fisherman friendly access.
    So Americans, from a Canadian. Hazzah to your side of the mighty Niagara. Such a wonderful River, and such a contrast by each Department of Natural Resources. One the US Side, makes shoreline angling fun and accessible. The other Side, Canada. awful and unattractive for the many.
