    #4 chartreuse comes with yellow dots on your site . Are you using #3 or #4 the 3/4 oz in this vid. Throwing a 3/4 oz spinner is the best way for distance and water coverage. Other big spinners for salmon stall in air.

    any idea on a good salmon spin rod /I like what you have and what reel would go good with that????

    • @thundermistlures
      @thundermistlures  6 лет назад +1

      suggest a medium action rod, I like 71/2 feet but many people use longer....as for reels, just be sure the reel has a good drag system ruclips.net/video/5z5LwJS3G0o/видео.html

    great video as usual!! Keep 'em coming.
    I do have question though. Why the use of braid? I mean, I understand why braid works better and the invisibility of the flourocarbon, but, if your going to use a fluorocarbon leader, wouldn't it just make your line only as strong as the fluorocarbon?
    Why not use only fluorocarbon? I feel like the whole set up is only as strong as the weakest link! Hoping you can help educate me on this. Thanks

    • @thundermistlures
      @thundermistlures  6 лет назад +2

      You can certainly use straight fluorocarbon, but for example, 20 lb fluoro is much thicker than 20 lb braid, so you will get less fluoro line on your spool and less casting distance, but the braided line is very thin, so more line and more casting distance :) In order to keep the same strength, you can use 20 lb braid and then use a 20 lb fluoro leader - just another option :)

    How deep are you letting it sink before retrieval ? Long time ago, someone told me at Niagara River/Whirlpool, cast a spoon and do your best to keep it near bottom just contacting rocks. Lost too many spoons to do that method again. haha

    Should you tie the stingnose on direct

    • @thundermistlures
      @thundermistlures  6 лет назад

      You can tie direct if you want - I typically use a small snap so I can cahnge up easily and it allows more freedom of wobble - here is a short video that explains :) ruclips.net/video/-4-hWQ8yOYk/видео.html

    When fishing these lures for salmon in rivers, do u cast upstream or downstream? Or do u just look for pools with barely any current. I fish the vedder river in BC and theres a lot of nice pools but many have a slight current so im not sure where to cast

    • @thundermistlures
      @thundermistlures  4 года назад +2

      ...cast upstream and let the lure sink close to bottom - by the time the lure has moved down stream a bit, it should b e directly in front of you and that's when you want to start your retrieve - good luck in BC - beautiful area!!
