    Frostner. The answer is Frostner.

    Atgeir middle mouse has a 6x damage to staggering modifier - the spin to win can easily stagger starred seekers and then poke city for staggerlocking them to death. Highly recommend bow, atgeir, frostner for mistlands. Also iron sledge and ooze bombs for the mines.

    Glad to have found your channel; I have been enjoying Valheim way too much lately and finding other content creators for info is handy. That said I'm almost done getting my current gear set, aka Mistwalker and Krom. And then we'll start having fun and making loads more.
    Your content is a great test to see how I can maximize some time in game and then mess around later. Thank you.

    Great, entertaining, and informative videos! Glad the algo recommended your channel. I have almost 400hrs in Valheim and have used mostly clubs, these videos inspired me to try out some new weapons. Also would love to see you try the flesh rippers out in the Mistlands, just for fun.

      Thanks! I appreciate that! I will definitely be doing a full Fenris video eventually! And the flesh rippers deserve a good look. I haven't even touched them yet but I keep hearing good things! Gonna have to grind some dungeons!

    The atgeir's spin attack is the single best way to kill ticks. I found it worth using for the utility even with zero weapon skill.

      I think the only contender aside from atgeirs might be sledgehammers but it’s kind of a toss up! They’re both effective in a solid 360!

    The Crystal Battle Axe is an interesting variation on the axe, because the knockback on the secondary attack is so high. You can actually just keep knocking a seeker back over and over - it cannot recover fast enough to attack. So you can defeat 2 seekers at the same time (not quickly) just poking them over and over.

    Thank you for this compilation! I've just recently gotten into Mistlands tier (mostly unspoilered), and was kinda struggling with the fast attacks and movements (also it's been raining constantly so my stamina was nonexistent. I'll definitely try the frostner, even if I didn't play much with it I'm sure the frost effect will be useful for me to somewhat get adjusted there.

    • @WafflesGamesProbably
      @WafflesGamesProbably  5 месяцев назад +1

      Hey good!! Welcome to the mistlands!! I did make a much more recent guide to the mistlands that's a bit longer and more comprehensive but it is a bit more spoilery. Not for the progression though. Basically, the Frostner is by far the superior mistlands weapon before you unlock mistlands tier weapons. And it might still be better than some mistlands tier options because of the knock back. Enjoy!

    Nice video!
    I personally use the knife with Fenris armor. Don't use a shield bcs it slows me down. Tbh, the speed makes up for everything that my char lacks. Was a bit worried before my first infested mine yday, but it really turned out to be not as bad as I imagined. Potions do help a lot, tho.

    Great video. I wish you could interact with the Devergers more. I'm at a point where I been just stalling to fight the Queen because I don't want the game to be over. Wish there was some optional missions the Devergers could give you. At one point or another you always end up in a fight with the Devergers, normally by accident and they are difficult. I'm sure some people would like to see what weapons could take them out most effectively and what can block their attacks. I dislike fighting my buddies but it happens regardless. Keep up the great work.

    Axes are slow in real life too. When I was using them, I thought it was no wonder that war axes were a lot thinner and had smaller axeheads. A woodsplitting hatchet is annoyingly unwieldy, but it's pretty much out of necessity. Any thinner like for a combat axe and it will not last as long when it meets any sort of resistance.

    • @WafflesGamesProbably
      @WafflesGamesProbably  6 месяцев назад

      You're definitely right on the money there. If we're thinking about this as a wood chopping hatchet, those really are heavy so one handing them would be slow and unwieldy...which in turn would make me hate them as primary weapons.

    Atgeirs are wonderful weapons which I swear by. Spin2win breaks mobs off of you, separating and staggering foes so you can pick one off with crit stabs before resuming your defense against the remaining enemies. It handles single combat and enemy hordes very well.

    frostner and knife combo is top-tier
    use a frostner every once in a while to slow seekers, they wouldnt be able to turn against you so you can go behind them w a knife for that backstab bonus and the fact thatt theyre weak on their behind

    Frostner and the Atgeir have been absolute lifesavers in the mistlands, but even with the Atgeir being great against the ticks and to stun even star seekers, the frostner has been the BEST weapon possible for that place, at least for me that is.

    Mistlands tier weapons arent that much better than Plains tier until we can fully upgrade them. Granted we will probably get new items with Ashlands rendering them "Not The Best" anymore.

    • @AeyakS
      @AeyakS 6 месяцев назад

      True. I like the spear though. I wouldn't say people are sleeping on spears because they honestly are pretty janky, but they're uniquely convenient like no other weapon type is thanks to the alt attack.
      It always feels fresh to use a spear since it attacks as fast as a knife, has great range, and can be used to invariably land hits on enemies just above or below your level.

    I really wish I could get into this game! It offers a lot but the problem is it's so empty! We build all this cool crap and for what? Nothing is ever attacked, bothered, the worlds are bare, its just a lifeless boss game. Unless I'm missing something.

    • @matthewince1606
      @matthewince1606 Год назад

      Sometimes having an empty biome is GOOD. The plains are so dangerous that you don't even want to sail more than 50 feet away on your first visit, so finding a black forest or meadow nearby is a boon.
      So the empty biomes aren't nearly the issue they seem. The biggest issue I still have is how grindy the game is (especially since you can't teleport ore).

    You're giving the axe a bad go here. I don't even like the axe, but when you had a sword on, you had a shield on and you parried no problem. Then you equipped the axe and forgot where the parry button is, didn't put on your shield, and then mocked your health bar as if to mock the axe. You might as well have taken all of your armor off and told us that using axes gets you killed.
