Can you believe it is possible to turn a tiny car I n to an rv for under $100! If you want to see how just watch this video of how one solo van traveler did just that. So many folks are forced to become nomads or join vanlife due to escalating rents. However, they are often living on social security and don't have the resources to buy an rv or even a minivan. In this video Tim from MoBang FoYoBucks shows how he was.anle to fit a bed, running water, and a unique toilet as well as storage space and stove all into a tiny Toyota Scion. Yep, all in less space than a typical small apartment bathroom.
My goal in making this video is to show how anyone can take the vehicle they have even if it is quite small, and convert it into a liveable space for as long as necessary so they do not have to be on the street.
If you have not subscribed, I would love for you to join the GLOW family and become a GLOWBIE. Also, if you have the time it would be great if you would share out this video to one other person and give Tim from MoBang FoYouBucks some well deserved exposure for his simple but ingenious ideas. And, of course go over and check out his channel.

Hello Glowbies. I bet you are as awed and impressed by this tiny "camper" as I am.. It was put together by Tim, the nicest guy you ever want to meet. Do go on over and check out his channel. He is going to be putting out some additional content and videos on this no build build and share some of his stealth camping tips.
Hey where did he get his power station from?
I am very impressed. Great that he can do everything at Walmart or a park...then stealth camp in a quiet neighborhood. So cool.
@@janchapman3746 nko
Wow, Amazing! I believe I can do it too, 'finally' camp out! Thx! 👍♥️👏
Wish I knew what happened to his family
As my mother used to say, necessity is the mother of invention. People who live in compact cars give new meaning to the term 'tiny house!' Lots of people who live in their vehicle recommend that you scout out where you will sleep, then go away. Return when all you have left to do is climb into bed. Then leave early in the morning. Very stealth.
That really is a great suggestion for a stealth existence.
Lynne J. - Yes, others do this, too. Just hope that your car doesn't break down!
God Bless you, Tim
Yep, I sleep around 10 pm, wake up at 4 am
Good idea
Tim is not only an inventive man with loads of practical skills, he is also one of the kindest human beings you will ever have the privilege to meet. He traveled hundreds of miles to help out a complete stranger for no reason other than the fact she needed help. He never talks about this but Tim regularly goes to the aid of others if he thinks there is a way he can help, he is the loveliest person, much respect to you, Tim.
You are so right. Tim really is an unsung hero and does so.much to help people he never discloses.
The older generation has so much creativity, courage and adventuressness...so much to learn. God bless Tim ❤
Yes yes yes 🙌
So true Tina. We were not an instant generation. Things.were slow to come to us which I believe helped.us to develop patience,.stamina, and the ability to set long term goals.
Plus we didn’t have “rights “ etc and it seems survival skills were apart of growing up …

I live on fixed income from social security. I wish to do traveling this fall on my motorcycle camper. I can live off that camper however my greatest expense would be on campgrounds unlike his setup he can do stealth.
Everything is so neat and organized. He is such a smart calm and inspiring man.
Not only is Tim smart, he is also kind and willing to help others. Thanks for stopping by 😊
Well said!
What does he do for living? Where he gets his income?
Perhaps, Tim has some good income producing ideas. Be nice like Tim.
@@lutongbahayhomecooking6258 maybe a job or gigs.
I work full time as a trucker and make good money but live in my SUV. I only need one paycheck 75% is saved.
He could even do uber for a week and have enough money for the rest of the month too.
It's sad really that this man has been driven from his native home and now has to live in a car, on saying that he has created a really nice living space that looks perfectly comfortable and manageable.
He's a lovely guy and I wish him very well x
Thanks for stopping by Alexandra. I went back to check the video just to make sure I didn't say Tim lives full time in his car. Tim uses this car for travel. He is a part time nomad and has a home. Just wanted to clear that up. Tim was gracious enough to share his build to help others facing the challenge of moving into small vehicles who don't have any idea how to do a liveable build.
Last I knew he had a Toyota sienna van. You can go to his channel, Mo Bang fo yo bucks. Smart guy.
@@gloriouslifeonwheels3621 Yes, I thought he was part time. Lots of vids of him in his garage.
@@gloriouslifeonwheels3621 - THANKS FOR THIS EXPLANATION. LOVE YOUR VIDEOS.
Please let us know. Its gfeat.
I like that he didn't take out all the seats like others do. It's very cozy & efficient looking!
Yes, that was cool. I think having the seats would be quite useful.
Hopefully this vid alone will cause folks not to panic, when faced w/crises where they can't no longer afford housing inflations, due to everything that's taking place in our good o'le USA @ the time being! God's speed everyone!🙏🏾...
I truly hope this video relieves some of the fear that so many have expressed to me about pending moves.they are.being forced to make into their vehicles. It breaks my.heart to read about the abject terror so many folks are feeling. Hopefully this video demonstrates that a simple but liveable build is possible even in a small car, and can provide a shelter while regrouping.
Money isn't my issue, thank the God ! But been wanting this van life for sometime. This video is encouraging! Peace and blessings to all.
Exactly. I have lived in a van before and it was awesome. Wanna do it again. Now I know if everything goes down hill I can always live in that haha

Hi, i have been 15 years in my microvan. I doubt there is something i haven't seen done.I have stopped speaking to people about "how to". I realised the biggest obstacle is not "how to". The biggest obstacle is the voice in their heads that says "i want it THIS way", or "that's ok for you, but i couldn't live THAT way". The obstacle is in the mind, not the physical reality. Heal the mind and the way becomes obvious.
Great comment buddy 👍
True!!!!❤️
I find the biggest obstacle is getting over what you have had drummed into your head your whole life, yes the obstacle is all in your mind. It is simply a different lifestyle. If you are single, what more do you really require, you sleep maybe eat in your house or apt well except for the shower but there are gyms everywhere pretty much and gives you a great reason to workout.
@@maggieburgone961 In hindsight, i feel that is what i am most grateful for. The ability that has grown in me, to stop, evaluate and say, "Hmm, if I did it this way, then..." and adapt and overcome. Like, if I only take cold showers, then i won't scream if there is no hot water", or "If I can learn how to shower with a 2 Litre bottle, then I can shower anywhere there is a 2 Litre bottle". I may have gone a bit far with it, as I now use 1 bottle of Liquid Hand soap for : hand soap, body wash, shampoo, dishwash liquid and car wash. Anyways, i'm ok with that. There is something noble about a simple life where one gathers their own water and tends to the basic needs.Big love and keep on truckin
Comforting thought. Thank you
The 1st thing I love is his smile. He's a shining star having to live like this with a wonderful attitude to a new way of living. Sad however that so many have to live this way.
Just to clear things up, Tim does not live full time in his car. He converted it for travel. The purpose of this video is to provide some guidance and ideas to some of the hundreds of people who have reached out to me telling me they are about to have to move into their cars and don't know what to do. Tuanks so much for tuning in and your kind heart towards others in challenging situations.
@@gloriouslifeonwheels3621 you're welcome. Yes! His set-up is great. It gives people ideas and options to do it for themselves. The alternatives and possibilities are endless to designing the nessicities one needs in case they have to live out of their vehicles permanently or part-time.
Great job!

I wish that over 50% of Americans would move into their vehicles for a while, and leave these price gouging landlords high and dry, and in the future leave them begging for tenants!!
And that is what masks 😷 hide...God's image in people...
More than just sad I consider it a shame, in 21'st century and in one of the richest countries of the world people should not be homeless or living in a car, the economical gap between riches and poor is terrifying!
Love Tim’s set up. Looks comfy and orginized. Good job Tim.
He really did.a.great job on this no build.convrrsion. Thanks for tuning in Paula.
Yes he did , he does very well and is resourceful, you know these women that move to eg Scotland 🏴 to be alone have very little room for anyone or anything in their lives, but they always have room for their Buddhist prayer 🙏🏽 mats and themselves.
I’d rather live blessed than FILTHY RICH.. something America needs to learn. Great video
It's wonderful to put a face to a name. What a great guy and he's so happy showing his home on wheels. Fantastic interview and video Ms. Carol. Thank you. 😊❤👍🏻
Tim is truly a lovely person. He is always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need. A hero for sure and so creative as well. Thanks for stopping by Taupey.
It's not his home, he camps in it part time. Kinda misleading
@@terrigomez5540 Seriously?! it's still his home on wheels even if he's living in it part-time. He doesn't try to hide this. He's very open about it and the things he shares are valid and are helpful regardless if he's part-time. There are many part-time nomads trying what works best for them at the time for many different reasons some of which are personal and not always shared. You should probably keep that in mind before you go around making rude comments and judging people with limited information.
I would feel so blessed and comfortable being out there in Nomads land with a guy like Tim as a buddy for support!
Thank you Carol. Love your enthusiasm so much.
Tim would certainly be a great support as a nomad buddy for sure. Thanks so much for stopping by.
Tim is very organized, tidy, and clean. He lives simply and minimally, love it!

Thank you for sharing this Doc. This was the whole point in making this video to provide some ideas to people who might be having to move into a vehicle. With the eviction moratoriums ending many people will likely be in this situation, at least for awhile.
Also suggest to your brother he can live in a truck and park his car at the company he works at. Just a suggestion.

Just found this video. I’ve been watching Tim for awhile. He constantly amazes me! Way to go Tim
Tim is one of the nicest, most generous people I've ever met! I got to camp with him in the Alabama Hills earlier this year and enjoyed his company immensely. Best of all, I get to camp with him again in a few weeks! He's smart, funny, a great cook, and obviously very talented at playing what I call "vehicle tetris!" I always look forward to his videos and have learned how to make use of the space in my minivan more effectively from his examples. Thanks for introducing him to a wider audience!
Alabama Hills, U said? Wow. I'm Californian and going to Mt Whitney almost every year. I hope that's where U mentioned about!
I absolutely agree with your description of Tim as a smart and generous man. I am so happy to have the opportunity to introduce him to an additional audience and allow them the chance to see samples of his ingenuity.
Go tim. Its 2024 now. Iam praying your still

Tim is one of the kindest and most giving people I have ever met, and that's saying a lot given some of the wonderful people I have met. Thanks so much for tuning in to se Tim's little build. Do go over and check.out his channel. MoBang FoYoBucks
It's camping in a car, but it works ! And he can go anywhere with great fuel consumption. The practise of only using residential parking for sleeping is crucial, to avoid annoying the people who live in that area - get in, sleep, get out. Good for you Tim !
So true. No loitering in residential areas is the best way to avoid problems.
"The practise of only using residential parking for sleeping is crucial", yet I have been hassled by police for sleeping in residential areas because nosy people (as I found out later) watched me park and climb into the back to sleep, becoming curious enough to call the police when I did not get out of the car after they saw me park.
@@gloriouslifeonwheels3621 And yet sleeping in your car in residential areas is one of the many definitions of loitering, and indeed, years ago I did that and had the police called on me many times, despite not turning on interior lights, not using my phone (etc), they simply watched me park and called police after they observed me not getting out of the car.
Whoohoo! I am a fan of Tim and his channel already. Thank you for having him here! He shares all sorts of tips on travel and do-it-yourself ideas. I met him in person, and can vouch he is a terrific person!

Yet another great an amazingly timely interview and tour. It’s inspiring and the no build build is extremely well designed. I’m stressing over how to set up a full size van for full time living. This lets me know that it can be done. Also this story proves that living in a vehicle is far from the most daunting challenges that life presents. Thank you both for a great video. fyi, that BALDR power station is a great buy. i bought one for my offgrid kid over a year ago, and the thing is so tough and dependable and economical i got her another one a few months later. one of these plus a rich solar brand 100 w panel totals $300 to power a LOT, for way, WAY cheaper than the fancy brand systems with floppy solar panels and proprietary connections.
Thanks so.much for sharing.that Nonya. I will have to check.out that brand for sure!
Thank you for this info. I am adding this to my list of things to consider.
@@joanevans7034 you're welcome! i don't use a power bank myself- just solar panels with a couple lithium batteries. i've lived the vanlife for 4+ years now, tried every type of solar panels- folding, flex, suitcase. after all that, i now carry two 100 watt rich solar panels, like $120 each on amazon- by far the best, most durable, dependable setup to date. they are the only seller i have seen that has 100 watt panels with legs. the super slick, super simple fold out leg/stand is the best design for easily deploying a panel in the sun while i park in the shade.
i did remove the wiring they came with the panels and added thicker wire- i use 10 awg landscape wire to my panels, which is great because it is both + and - in one like a household cord- way more manageable than the wire they sell as solar wire. and thicker too- with wire bigger is always better because less power loss over distance.

Amazing what Tim has done in a tiny space!
Can you believe Tim did this all in a Scion. He told me he could also make it so Two could sleep in this car!!! Simply amazing!
Yes people, you can bridge a “crisis” gap in a car. I live in a Class B and park on the street in NYC. But for about 6 mos, mostly during winter there was a girl (early 20s) who lived in her Honda Civic. I was in awe. I let her have her privacy and never pried but I was very impressed by her. She would get up, go to the train like everyone else, then come home to her hatchback. Tough lady. We all go they stuff. And this too shall pass.
I certainly admire folks who face a difficult time with grace and determination. This is exactly what this video is meant to be, a demonstration of how someone can weather a life storm for a period in a small car if they have to.
It's a very comfortable set up. If he can find parks or property to boondock at, he could purchase a "tunnel tent" that he could actually park his car inside of which would provide him with areas in which to stand up to shower, etc. The sleeping set up is actually perfect and would even work for me, however, I'd probably take out the other passenger seat and use that empty space to set my camping toilet and a folding chair for when I want to sit inside and cook, write, study, or work. It sure would be great if car manufacturers recognized the needs of Nomads and people who needed to live inside of their vehicles and began designing more livable features.
I think car manufacturers will eventually catch up. Look how long it took them to realize that women actually buy cars and add mirrors to the flip down!!
I'd also like to share this RUclips Channel with you in case you haven't heard of him (leadfarmer73). It appears that he and his wife live in their RV. He's a very smart and creative gentleman. ruclips.net/video/HxactlY5d6U/видео.html
"It sure would be great if car manufacturers recognized the needs of Nomads and people who needed to live inside of their vehicles and began designing more livable features." yes, they're called RVs and they already exist. As much as I have car camped in urban environments in the past out of necessity, cars will never be designed to sanction this, as it could legally subject them to regulations. For example, many localities legally forbid people from living in dwellings that are less than 400 sq. ft. in size.

It is.certainly one.of the coolest.builds, or I should say no builds I've seen so far, and so affordable too!!
I'm currently living in my slide in converted truck camper in an extended cab Tacoma. I have more room of course, but still very small and I'm sure I'm saving at least $1000 pm by not renting AirBNB , hotel, apt or a room in a strangers house. I have a water tap, electric and access to very nice showers. I can cook anything and I have a 50qt refrigerator. I love this guy's setup.. adding to my list of things to improve

Tim is a real cutie. He seems so very simple and happy with very little . Those kind of people are the most joyful.
Along time ago someone made a comment to me that meant absolutely nothing to me at the time until many many years later they said if you're ever faced with losing your house or losing your car always keep the car .. because you can get to and from work in that car and you can sleep in that car have an apartment or a house if you're not going to be able to get to and from work ....just wanted to share some pertinent info for times like this...
Well done MoBang! Thanks for bringing it Carol!🌿

Really loved this video and made me realize I can camp out of my car quite easily! Tim is smart to live this way! Saves money!!! I’d subscribe to his channel in a heartbeat! Thanks for all your great ideas Tim! Can you do a safety video when you start your channel? I like the idea of parking in residential areas. Any further tips on being super stealth and safe?
I have a few videos on boondocking Jacqueline that might be helpful. Also, I like to park where there are others around. I never park on a secluded street alone where no one us driving by or would see or hear me if I had a problem. Some of my favorites are Loves, Pilots or Flying J truck stops, Wal Mart if I see other rvs there, on the street in a residential area where there are loads of apartment buildings as there are always lots of cars parked there, occasionally a lower end hotel parking lot if there are plenty of open spaces. Also, you can use free campsites and campendium to locate free parking. The other night I parked in a closed restaurant parking lot that there were semi trucks, a Class A and other rvs and vans parked at. Just leave early in the morning. Also, I try not to stop for gas at night. When I pull into a spot I don't get out. I put up my window coverings immediately in the dark before turning on any lights.
I make it into a game parking. I get bored look at other spot.
That's funny, I set everything up in a local city park, and sleep in the Walmart parking lot. Just the opposite of him.
