Thanks! I'm not overly confident in front of the camera and surely people want to see the beauty of the city to get a feel for whether they want to go to places or not. 😊
Thanks! Yes, I was surprised how well I could see the aurora from up there. People also say Kongeparken in the city centre is a good spot, or Telegrafbukta (although I didn't try either of those as I had the ticket for the cable car). 👍
@@a_weekend_with_us Thanks for the inspiration. I have little kids so I have to find a dark place in the city center or somewhere near Cafe/restaurant like Fjellheisen rather than join Aurora tour.
This was a great video, but I am surprised you didn't visit Ølhallen (The Beer Hall). The oldest pub in Tromsø and the pub in Europe with the highest number of beer on tap.
Thanks 🙂 It looked like a cool building and I was interested in doing a guided tour but just ran out of time (and kept getting distracted by things!). I would love to come back to Tromsø and it would be on my itinerary for sure 👍
Beautiful peaceful place spring summer or fall. Cold and 🌨️❄️. Been there and done that. As long as the place is safe and far far far away from 🤯. If I can afford it comfortably 💵💰💵. It's home
Thanks! I took the local bus - the number 42 stopped close to my hotel but there are a couple of others that go to the centre too. There's also an airport bus which costs more. There's a bit about the bus journey in the video about my travel day - ruclips.net/video/L9MaLpY4RZo/видео.html Hope that helps!
Thank you! I was there 22-26 Jan. I thought there was more daylight generally than I was expecting. It was probably light from maybe 9ish in the morning to 2.30/3pm. So you will probably be there in the Polar Night and it'll be darker, although you'll still get some daylight but just won't see the sun. Hope you have a great trip, I really loved it there and hope you will too 😊
Hi, thanks! There should be chapters on most of the videos (apart from the campsite videos as they are usually pretty short) but I'll check in case they are missing/not working, is there a particular one you have in mind? Thanks 👍
@@a_weekend_with_us Well I am a fellow motorhomer, but at the moment I'm researching Tromsø and have watched a lot of videos about the city. So I am generally looking for new things to add to the list. Watching each and every video without checking the chapters first is not realistic. Happy travels! 👍
Hi, when did you visit Tromso in January? Next year we will also visit Tromso and I am just wondering how dark it will be from 1st until 12th of January... thanks :) Subscribed! :)
Hi, I arrived on 22 Jan and left on 26 Jan. The "Polar night" had officially ended the week before and I had daylight from maybe around 9.30am until 3ish probably, although didn't see the sun itself. It'll be darker for you but I reckon it will still lighten up for a bit during the day. There's a livestream on RUclips - @VervetTroms Utsikt Sør - that gives you a good idea of the daylight. It's crazy how light it is now compared to just a few months ago. Hope you have an amazing time 🙂
Hey, thank you for the vlog. I am visiting next january, and super excited. Did you use card payment for everything, i heard that cash isnt used much or at all? Am thinking of getting a travel/currency card for my trip.
Thank you. Have a great time! I took cash but found that a lot of places didn't take it, so you would definitely be OK without it. Even the places that did take it would automatically fire up their card machine and I'd have to ask to pay cash! If you want to use public transport, you can buy tickets on the app (single tickets or multi-day ones like I had) - very easy and the buses were reliable.
Hi, I booked my Aurora Safari through Best Arctic (bestarctic.com) and my boat trip through Visit Tromsø (visittromso.no) and I would recommend them both - no hassle, good communication etc. Visit Tromsø also has lots of information about activities and trips. For the museums and cable car, I just bought tickets on arrival (you can buy them through Visit Tromsø as well but I don't think there would be any advantage in doing so). Have a great trip!
There's a short period of daylight, probably 10am-3pm or thereabouts. I don't know about whale watching but I'd suggest you look at websites like Visit Tromsø as they have lots of whale watching information. Have a good trip if you go 👍
Wonderful video, very informative. I so appreciate that your focus was on Tromsø and not on your face. Look forward to viewing more of your videos.

Thank You for sharing this trip. It looks amazing!!
Appreciate your video is so informative and wonderful very good exploring i am surprised your film is great by the way. 🌹
Great vid, thanks.
You said, “wife finding” at the Cathedral?
Love it!
Thanks for this great video. We're visiting Tromso in Jan 2025 and I already have a list of things to see thanks to you!
Thank you, really appreciate that 👍 Hope you have an amazing time!
Beautiful video, thanks
Thank you 😊
Thanks for sharing especially for the information that we can see aurora from the Fjellheisen if the sky is clear.

There's a lot of daylight in your video, as Tromso has Polar Night till January 15, I am guessing you visited during January second half....?
Yes, from memory I think I was there from 22-26 January. There was daylight but I didn't quite see the sun because of the mountains round the city.
Hello, thank you for your video. I will be in Tromso next December. Do you have an agency to recommend to me for booking my excursions? Thanks

What time did you see the northern lights on Fjellheisen?
Hi, they started around 21.00/21.30 and carried on for several hours. That was in late January.
@@a_weekend_with_us Thanks for answering this question, we are planning to go by the end of October. Hope to see it then...
