New Mics are 1000% improvement! They actually 'mute' the background noise bigtime. Thanks for getting those; super adjustment!

I grew up as a kid in the fifties going there with my Lebanese grandmother on her weekly trips there to shop for the meals for dozens of family and guests. She was friends with a Japanese vendor named Mitzi there bringing him a lunch of his favorite Lebanese foods each week. He made coffee in his booth behind the artistically displayed fresh farmed produce from the then still small farmlands on the far westside near Playa del Rey that had finally been given back to Nesei Japanese farmers too long after the closing of the camps after WWII. I worked downtown in 1969 and Mitzi was still there, recognizing me as a young woman as I started buying there myself.
There was little prepared foods then. Mostly it was produce, a specialty butcher or two and few Asian or Mexican food ingredients yet beyond some chilies, cilantro, onions, tomatoes, dried beans, and long green beans and small Japanese eggplants Mitzi still carried in to sell from behind his display for his special customers who understood how to use them. It is an iconic destination for L.A. foodies. Thanks for keeping the memories going.
Thanks for sharing, Leila. The Market must have looked a lot different back then. As vendors come and go, it keeps evolving, but looks like it's keeping its small business roots. We hope the Market thrives so future generations of foodies can enjoy it. Thank you for watching. =)

Yes! The new mics help a lot! Clear and not too much background noise. Keep testing them out and try different placements and levels. Hopefully they do a good job in windy areas. Thanks for checking out GCM. Haven't been there in a few years. SO much has changed.

I always thought your audio was pretty good. The saramonic did well with dampening the sounds around you. Next video, give us 10 seconds of video without the saramonic so people can hear a "live" comparison.

Good call on the mics and also the tupperware. That is an excellent idea for a places like that. We may try that ourselves next time we go to a food hall. (we actually have a new one opening here soon) This way we can try lots of stuff and not worry about wasting or overstuffing ourselves. So smart!! xoo That pasta looks homemade and DElish!

When you say Thai seasonings in the lobster roll what did you mean? Lime, cilantro, fish sauce? Like a Banh Mi? Was the pasta in that spaghetti and meatballs like udon? Looks like a great place to grind. Keep up the good work!
Not quite as thick as udon noodles. As for the Thai Lobster Roll, here’s the description off their menu… Chunks of Maine lobster stewed in a lobster broth with roasted onion, roasted red pepper, fresh Thai basil, tangy coleslaw and Thai aioli on a soft roll.

Great video as always we’re coming in November to Disneyland from SC. We’re thinking of taking the green line from LAX to Norwalk and then transfer to the 460 to Disneyland to save a lot of money. Is it safe at 930 on a Saturday morning. The shuttle the Disney hotel suggested is 139 each way for 2 people they’re doing private cars. The super shuttle bus is gone. If we can atleast do public sat morning I won’t mind the car we’d night late going back to lax. Any other suggestions how is Uber and Lyft wait times?
Since we’re locals and have our own transportation, we really can’t suggest or have knowledge with public transportation.

Hi guys! Love your videos. The new mics are great for the background noise, but your voices seem a little low and muffled to me.

We watch your videos on a Roku TV connected to a stereo, so audio quality is very noticeable. They did cut down on the background noise because they are close mic'd and had a lot of automatic gain control (AGC) - and they seem like they have limited bandwidth or have a bandwidth notch just for voice. However we did not like the overall sound quality of your new mics compared to your phone mics. More of a 'low rez gravel tone' You may want to try a different brand. Or just compress (use a compressor/limiter filter) on your audio track on your final output video render and it will accomplish the same thing of suppressing the background noise and making your voice clearer and louder without the 'low rez gravel tone' in your voices this brand of mic produces. Just our two cents as a critical audio engineer ;-). Always great videos none the less, we watch ever week.
We appreciate your input. We’ll play around with mic location and try the included Lavalier mics.
Do they have parking and do you have to pay for it?
Grand Central Market has its own multi level parking structure connected to the market. Fixed fee for the first 90 mins, then charged in 15 min increments. Forgot the breakdown, but we were there around 2 hours and paid $10.

Was it very busy when you went? What about parking?
Not too busy, can get pretty crowded around lunch time. They have their own parking structure. We stayed around 2 hours, $10.
Ambient Noise much better. Voices heard more clearer. Never had an issue on my end.
Also depends user's phone for those who had had trouble.

Ocean One Bar & Grill has pretty good $5 lunch specials, in the Miracle Mile Shops. Peppermill on the north end of the strip is your classic Vegas feel restaurant. Large portions, not a bad deal if you’re splitting plates. Your shout out.. 👍🏼

I liked this food hall, it has good food 😋. But I don’t frequent the area cuz it seems to have worsen, part of my family lives in Alhambra so when I’m there we go to Donut Man and head out 🤣
Alhambra isn’t too far from Glendora which is where the original Donut Man is. It’s in a nice area and definitely worth the drive 😊

Its an American thing. PB&J sandwiches have been around since the early 1900’s.

Hi!!!!!!! :) The mics sound the same to me! LOL I always find your casts to have lower volume than others though--just to let you know, I have to put you on full max a lot, or put on headphones, but still love watching. Basically what I'm saying is--sound is fine, volume is low! LOL
Another great video, thank you for showing us some of the great eats in la. I've been meaning to mention this on other videos. I love that you show the menu. I always pause and read it to see if there's something that I like and to see the variety of food available. Your commentaries on the food are fabulous. You have eaten at so many places, it's great to get a comparison and a critique whether it's savory sweet or combination. Also, I can imagine this was a very noisy place, but your microphones did a fabulous job. Ps.. the pigeon walking across the video was priceless. Lol
