Los Angeles, California Food Tour! We continue our search for the best places to eat in LA today with an ultimate taco tour around the city.
I am joined by my good friend, and private chef Dafne Mejia. You might recognize her as a finalist from Hell's Kitchen season 21. Chef Dafne guides me to the best tacos in Los Angeles that you must try! Here is the list of the five taco trucks and restaurants we visited:
Tacos Y Birria La Unica - This taco truck on Olympic Blvd near downtown Los Angeles is serving up delicious tacos and Birria. We start with their famous quesobirria taco, which is slow-cooked goat meat and cheese. You have to dip the birria taco into the consume for the full experience.
Carnitas el Momo - A family-run make-shift street kitchen, Carnitas el Momo is known for their carnitas tacos. I can officially say, these are some of the best carnitas tacos in Los Angeles, and most likely the world. Make sure you go early because the carnitas tacos do sell out.
Sonoratown - Sonora-style Carne Asada tacos in downtown Los Angeles. Slow cooked beef and pinto beans with roasted chilis and all the fixings makes this absolutely one of the best tacos in Los Angeles. It's just a pain to park, and there is a lot of chaos around. If you want a true LA experience, you gotta come to Sonoratown!
Tacos Bajas - I love my fish tacos in San Diego and Baja California, so I have a high bar for Baja-style fish tacos. While I wouldn't put Tacos Bajas at the very top of my best tacos in Los Angeles list, they can definitely hold their own if this is the style taco you're craving.
Tacos a Cabron - We actually didn't plan on visiting Tacos a Cabron on Atlantic Blvd but the smoke and crowd pulled us in. This street taco setup in Los Angeles is as authentic as it gets. They feature a massive setup of everything from ribs and carne asada to pastor and chorizo tacos. If you're searching for some of the best tacos in LA, get in line here at Tacos a Cabron!

Love love “Tacos Baja” in East L.A!! The chili’s are chiles Toreados (chile amarillo) usually sautéed in a little bit oil until they blister and the secret seasoning “lawry’s seasoning salt” 😂 omg you are on the stares of the post office!! Memories ❤

I've truly enjoyed this video. I live in Orange County but always love to hang out in Los Angeles and visit restaurants, museums, stores, and all of the interesting spots LA has to offer. I'm from Compton, Ca. and with the exception of my favorite taco stand in La Gloria, MX, the best Mexican food and tacos in the world are made in L.A. The food is better seasoned in my humble opinion, and it looks like L.A. has had quite a bit of influence on improving the taste of the food in Mexico!

Those are some proper tacos! Also good form for the eating locations of tacos. They always taste best off the hood of a car, back of an ambulance or seated in plastic chairs in an alleyway.
Come to flagstaff and try out places with her. I’d def try every authentic place you two would recommend.
Chiles gueritos are the seasoned yellow peppers. It's a staple at a lot of Mexican eateries.
