It's been some years, but I used a standard 1-inch 3 ring binder (the mini ones you get at Walmart/Target/Office Depot). It's not as pretty as it can be and now that I've seen this video of what you're putting together, I LOVE the ideas you've shared, which will take the thrown-together mess that I have to a whole new level of awesome! Definitely borrowing your "brain food" idea for a section to store scripture, quotes, inspirational images. So, THANK YOU!!! Hope to see more of this binder of yours & how you adapt it to your life. Last, but not least, I have a "family" section where I've kept little drawings or notes my kids have done, along with sizes & favorites that help when it's gift time.
I too went down the rabbit hole after Catherine announced these new inserts. They are perfect for my Plotters and Wuzhi's. But love TRP for everything. I'm also making a referencing binder - though its for work and in A5 size. We have a discbound at home and I've already invested a lot of money in that so not sure I'd change our home binder. But I might create my own personal referencing binder too in the future. But focusing on my work one for now because that's what I need.
@@AliBrownie I’ve printed on personal and A5 (done with my personal setup bit not the A5). But I haven’t done it on my pocket inserts. Not sure I will print on them or not. But it worked great in my big multifunction laser printer

I would love already printed version! I am one that struggles with printing my own!! It’s hard in the planner world where most is printables! I’ve bought a lot of your physical pieces, love them and would love these in my Filofax ❤️❤️
Most people know that what they see on their phone/device could look different because different screens and settings show color differently. And most also know that when you print the color could be different. But I'd put a disclaimer in the listing just like others do as a reminder/CYA. For pricing, I'd look at other similar items and how they are priced and then determine if that is a good price for how you value your work and time and adjust accordingly. And of course include a disclaimer that it's for personal purposes, can't be reproduced etc. For how to offer - I'd suggest printables and if you wanted pre-printed also but printables opens you up to more sales and more of the world. international customers can buy printables easier and many just prefer it so they can use the paper they love. Not everyone likes TRP and not everyone likes copy paper. I will say most printables I buy come in two formats -- one that has two per page and one that is set to the size of the insert. That way if you only own letter/A4 paper you can print and cut and get two (or more for pocket) on a page. and one that you can print directly on precut paper. That gives people options because not everyone has precut paper to print to and they like to maximize their letter paper to not waste. For sizes - I'd probably start with pocket personal and A5 since that's the inserts that Sterling Ink offers and what brought you to this. and you can just add more sizes later. people can also adjust their print settings on those to use them in other sizes. like for A6 that's half an A5 so it's easy to scale.
I loved your video. I bought a TN size notebook after watching your video sharing about it. I never heard of Sterling Ink before I saw that video. I love this notebook. I loved it so much and it has worked out so well for me to document my daily ramblings. choked when I saw the same size in a planner for 2024 and promptly preordered it. This will be the first time in I have no idea how long I will not have to design a planner the way I want it to be or fill in an undated one. The planner checked of so many boxes for me the size, knowing I already love my notebook, the paper OH THE SWEET CRINKLY and SMOOTH TOMOE PAPER, but the biggest box for me is how minimalist the pages are. No quotes or random pages I am not going to use (this is why I never purchased a Hobonichi anything). I went bonkers when I saw the preview video and sent my Husband message after message about it because I had to tell someone about it and he doesn't even like planners. I loved this video and how you were totally fangirling over your new reference notebook and your planners and I TOTALY GET ALL OF IT!!! I am Sterling Ink fan forever now. Looking forward to more videos and magic here, thank you!

Everything is gorgeous, I would love A6. A6 is also very popular 😂😅. I've always been a printable girly and not once knew about color saturation on my printer. I always love how my pages come out. Not sure if everyone is the same but for me this is the first time hearing about it.
I have a reference binder! It's great for info that you need to access long-term or short-term - you can rip it out and throw it away, or you can keep it without having to migrate it from book to book. I don't need to keep things like online orders I'm waiting on, for example.
Your artwork is always so pretty, Ali. It's no wonder that we all want it😊❤. BTW, at the beginning of this year, I started a reference journal, too. It's certainly not fancy, but I use it for information I need to keep and access quickly. I have a section for brainstorming projects (ideas, costs, time). i also have a section for research via calls, internet and books. I track in another section the things I need, want, and ideas for gifting and the associated cost, along with the actual purchase information, (this is very helpful). Lastly, I have a section for my rambling thoughts! One thing I don't do is include anything personal related to me or my family in this ring notebook - It's all home / research. I have 2 pocket rings that I keep only my passwords in. One is near my computer and one is near my chair (those places are where I always need them) 😊. I found It's so much easier to add and subtract paper with information into the ring notebook rather than 'tipping in pages in the bound'. I still use my bound notebooks for everything else. It's probably way too much info, but I felt like sharing😊❤😊.

I purchased a pack of the TRP from Sterling Ink & wondered how you print directly on them when the digitals are for cutting apart on letter size paper? Do you know of any specific digitals that are sized for printing directly on personal size paper? I'm mostly tech illiterate 😂😂😂
@lyricsews it does! That's helpful. I did attach mine to 8.5" paper to print Plan With Bee printables on them & that worked too - printed the digital on the letter size paper front & back, center the TRP over it & attach with removable adhesive & then run the whole thing through my printer. Just a lot of steps. 😆 🤣
In my print settings - on the page setup - I tell it the paper I’m printing on is A5 or personal (I made a custom size for that) etc (changing it from letter) and it adjusts to print on that page. I make sure the box isn’t checked to shrink and instead it’s set to actual size or 💯 scale. I don’t have to tape it to the page. It automatically just prints the actual insert not the crop lines etc. perfectly on the page. Now for two sided for some printers you have to tell it to print all odds and put it back in the printer and print all evens to get it front and back. But it’s easy and fast. And many that do their printables have them in both letter-A4 size and in actual insert size. So the PDF is just that insert size already.
What Shivaun said and I also look for printable shops that give files in the actual personal sized paper. I much prefer printing that way. Usually it's marketed as 'precut' or '1 to a page.'
I went looking for a natural leather chic sparrow in narrow and they don’t make narrow anymore!!!!!! 😢 I think everyone might have their Chic sparrows getting voted off the island. 😂
They do make narrow in their travelers notebooks. Just go to the TN you like and it’s in the drop down. They make all sizes except passport (they only make plus of that).
I had started replying to this last Saturday and never sent... Do you mean she doesn't make the folios in Narrow anymore? Or the traveler's notebooks? I couldn't find Emma in a narrow folio but I did find it in a cascade traveler's notebook. 😊

I would suggest making the stickers actual size of your art then people can put it on their own journal page instead of printing out the page on their printer.
