I don’t understand why they used a product used to help insulate to attach treads! People are weird, you don’t have to reinvent the wheel on a project, just glue them down with an actual adhesive, dam.
I would never use expanding foam to glue on treads. For the simple reason as the product suggests that it is expanding. The reliability of the foam to keep it stuck down over time isn't reliable. There are many other products on the market that have a chemical bond between the two substrates and will glue it down for years to come. One option we get in S.A is the soudal 26a. Used it and had great success. No hollow parts across the tread.
@Invent totally agree. Some of these youtube videos make me cringe. seeing these on videos of just when its done gives the impression that it's the right way and it holds and is so wonderful until you do it and after a month it ends up looking like it's been through war. My moto is quick fixes and shortcuts most of the time if not always gets you into problems that will take you much longer, more problematic and more expensive to fix. Gone are the days where artisans were the guys that did things with passion and admiration, now it's some guy that whips up some concoction able to do something in a record time and put it on a video. Like you say what do we know.
@jasonstephenperumal2796 make sure you have a flat and even concrete surface. Use a suitable glue that will bond to concrete and wood. Spread it around on the concrete and place the wood ontop. Weight it and let it cure. For extra security you can look at using a nail gun that will nail into concrete. Soudal has a few products.
Делали временный пол, лаги клеили к бетону на монтажную пену. Через два года лаги отрывали ломом. Так что пена нормально клеит.В отличие от видео, мы на лаги ставили пеноблоки , чтобы пена при расширении не приподняла лаг.

Something not quite right with this staircase. Stairs should be constructed to “easy going ratio” which is 7/8ths. This means that a 8 inch deep stair tread should have a 7 inch riser. The riser height looks less than this ratio. 🙄👎
Using a skilled eye, to both level and set each tread..
👌
Thanks for sharing! I was just thinking of how to do my outside stairs and thought wood might be cool, this definitely made me sure to go that way
I would not do this to outside stairs unless they will never have moisture on them. I can't imagine this would hold up.
@@sbffsbrarbrr why not? Wooden decks hold up perfectly right?
dont do that

@@dawsonpurkett7709 Actually, there are in the market adhesive PU foam. Basically a liquid nail in the form of foam

I'm thinking of you placing wooden tops on concrete stairs. Can you advice how I go about it?

Do i need to wait sometime until the foam expands before putting wood on it ?

Big NO to this technique.... There is no solid supprt under treads and the foam will rot with time and everything will start mooving.
Absoluter Blödsinn. Was ein Müll. Wohl Montagekleber aber kein Schaum. Und wo sind die Setzstufen? Ob der bleibt das so?🤮🤮🤮🤮
