The video was made possible with the help of game developers behind the game "World of Warships". And yes, that budget must have been bigger than the national GDP of a small country, because this was not a simple and cheap video to make, Hollywood Special Effects levels. I love the shot where you see the boat the band is on, and emerging from the mists you see the outlines of Bismarck heading towards us, giving a great sense of how immensely big... no more like, how HUGE the Bismarck was, she was a beast.
Joel, love you poscast. Long time subscriber. Yours is unique amoung thousands. You continue to not just expand your own interests, but to spread that love to others. Appreciate each unqiue revisit with ssomeone new. In the Nightwish track Kyle mentioned growing up on Rush...how about an into to a three piece band of sisters we all know from Mexico.
Interesting historical tidbit. The pilot of the RAF PBY they showed was a US Navy Ensign secretly on loan to the RAF to help train their pilots in PBY operations. Ensign Leonard B. “Tuck” Smith was the person that spotted the Bismark, based on a reported sighting by the US Coast Guard Cutter Modoc after the Battle of the Denmark Straight when the HMS Hood was sunk. And props to Sabaton for actually filming the band segments on a small vessel on the open seas instead of using green screen tech.
The Bismarck came out of port and in its first significant battle in the war, sunk the pride of the British Fleet, the Hood, with one shell. After that, it was a marked target and the entire available British fleet, and air support, stalked it until they collectively put it to the floor of the ocean. It actually never really did much damage during the war, other than the Hood, and the distraction. The Tirpitz, it’s sister ship, basically never left harbour for fear it would be ganged up on and sunk as well. Overall, they were daunting, but ineffective, due to poor naval strategy.
Sabaton collaborats a lot ..Pär is a genious at this ..and lot of the stuff they do is geared towards education ..not money (of course sooner or later that might be the result too)
To the point of Kyle mentioning the synths in the background; that can be attributed to he vocalist Joakim joining the band rather as a keyboard player, during the bands formation, and not as vocalist. Also, Joakim is one of the two main composers of their music and lyrics.
This video was a collab with a gamecompany, i dont remember the name of the game..maybe battleship o battle of the ships or something like that...Im sure someone with know more and write about it.
BTW - I think they hint at the young german marine that was rescued was the same guy they hired the tug boat from. I cannot really get the timing right. The one renting the boat must be very old.
OK. I was wrong. He liked it. Into war stuff, and liked a power singer. Yeah, Bismarck vas a good choice. It is always a good choice. An unexpected move to go out in a tug boat, but it works, just fine.
What is dr.know and who is kyle toucher? kinda pathetic making same reaction video to same popular songs over and over again with literal nobodies so you're not uploading "the same video" over and over again, SAD.

I think they hinted that the German sailor was his father.
@@KristiinaBerg Yeah, I checked out - and it seems like he actually was.
