Your boat is very similar to my O’Day 192. I spent a winter camping on it in a marina in Wilmington NC. Pocketed my hotel per diem $ and enjoyed the amenities and sailing.
Thats the way. Minimize money out and still be moderately comfortable. Living (camping) long term on a boat or in a camper is a different kind of life, and it's not for everyone. I personally enjoy it!
ive just spent 6 months on a 19ft yacht and gave up bought a 23ft cabin boat you have motivated me to do her up with a new doorway as a holidaying boat for next year thx
Yes the 18 footer was no easy relaxing, mostly work and a noisy night sleep. The bigger boats with a bit thicker hull are the way to go. The entryway was a MUST do and added what I would call the bare minimum of comfort. I am also looking to upsize a bit and have recently acquired my captains license so ill be boating much much more now. Enjoy!
With your fenders moving back forth, having the same proplem, i ran an line from from the fender to an stanction. Hope that helps. Gerard, New South Wales, Australia.
Yes keeping them out on deck would have been better. They were actually the only way the bed would stay somewhat level before I built the rails to support it. It seems the manufacturer never figured out the fact the bed was wobbly and couldn't support weight. I just bought a sailing catamaran and will be working on that soon to be back on the water. Cheers from the states.
Man, I gotta get my Gulf Coast 20 in the water already. Seeing your Snark videos and also seeing this, I’m dying to get out on the water and exercise my creativity like you have. Right now I’m just waiting on the funds to replace my sidestay wire. It’s 3/16 diameter braided stainless steel, I just need to be able to afford some since the old one is twisted and bent. Maybe I’ll try making a separate channel for my sailing adventures and see how RUclips takes it!
Its sounds funny but same here! I get out there between overtime work hours at a 9 to 5. Im usually rushing the whole process before sunset. Im cooking up plans for more long term water life tho!

Cool setup, looks like fun.
Im starting to enjoy the solitude. All the work is worth it when I sit back and watch the sky and water as the boat gently rocks.
Looking good!

a small boat like that, the fenders can go horizontaly along the rail to help keep you just heeled
Wow!
