VIDEO DESCRIPTION:
Welcome aboard! Join Bennie as she guides you through her cherished boat-a haven where practicality meets adventure. This tour explores every nook of her sailing home, which has traversed the Atlantic and now rests peacefully in a marina.
Kitchen (The Galley) Overview:
Material Love: The boat is adorned with mahogany planks from Honduras, chosen specifically for their resistance to mold compared to fiberglass or aluminum boats.
Cooking on the Waves: Equipped with a gimballed stove to keep meals steady despite the ocean's sway, and connected to a fiberglass propane tank for rust-free longevity.
Water Systems: Although currently hooked to marina amenities like shore power and fresh water, Bennie plans to install a water maker using reverse osmosis to provide clean drinking water when sea-bound.
Living Quarters:
Compact Luxury: The saloon doubles as a cozy living room with a convertible berth for guests, reflecting the dual functionality essential in tiny living spaces.
Favorite Feature: Bennie's favorite feature is surprisingly the gimballed stove in the galley-a cherished element that ensures a spill-free cooking experience, no matter the sea conditions.
Navigational Necessities:
Tech for the Sea: The boat is equipped with both modern navigation systems and traditional celestial navigation resources, ensuring safety and direction regardless of circumstances.
Power Solutions: A UPZ 600 watt power station backed by solar panels offers a sustainable energy solution, essential for long voyages and life off-grid.
Personal Reflections:
A Symbolic Sanctuary: For Bennie, the boat is more than a home; it's a symbol of his personal journey-reflecting battles with mental health and the ongoing project of self-renewal, much like the continuous maintenance the boat demands.
Community Connection: Emphasizing the importance of giving back, a portion of proceeds from his power station goes to communities without electricity, aligning with his values of support and sustainability.
Adventures and Aspirations:
Crossing Oceans: From the Canary Islands off Africa to the shores of the Bahamas, each nautical mile has been a testament to growth and adventure, reinforcing Bennie's love for the sea.
Therapeutic Ventures: Bennie envisions a future where therapy transcends traditional settings, utilizing the therapeutic nature of the ocean to aid others in their healing journeys.

@@GlampingGurlBeing born in London into what was once a very typical large Irish family ☘️🇨🇮 ( My mom has 9 babies,8 of which survived,& tech I was numero ocho)
Anyway I was on that working treadmill & always had itchy feet ( And i had travelled on vacations,to the U.S,Europe ,the Mid East and always wanted to do that) And a opportunity arose to acquire a ' Greencard' which I did through my Aunt living in Southern Cali ( And that was 23 yrz ago& I live in Vegas)
Now it hasn't been all smooth sailing ( excuse the Pun) it's hard work, challenging ( I'm a Nursing Assist specialist working with the severely Disabled) but I never regret moving! Now I miss my family & some friends( especially around Holiday& Birthdays) but I get by!
.And since the advent of Skpe, and then What's app ( which I only started using at the end of 2016) that has made a massive difference ( especially for foreigners) So I'll end here ( I don't wish to bore u) by saying,it's a big world& if u have the notion& get up & go to explore then do it! ..And it w/b no slight on the place of ur birth,if u find somewhere else to ur liking& perhaps when u travel abroad & then return u just might see the U.S through a different lense ( which might be a blessing or not?) There is nothing better than the boat life. I have lived 7 years in my 44-foot sailboat, north of the polar circle, Bodø and Tromsø in northern Norway .The winters uo here can be harsh, with 2 meters of snow and fierce winter storms. But wouldn't be without it
I didn't think you could live up there on a sailboat. Do you have to have a bubbler or something to keep the water open in winter? Living on a sailboat was a dream of mine - and doing it in Norway where my mom came from would have been pretty amazing!
Love her! Living on boats for the last 10 years...kindred soul
Wonderful story, I’m sure a lot of people can relate. I purchased an old wooden boat after my divorce and restored it. It helped me get through a very tough period. Flash forward 25 years and I still have the amazing restored boat. Many happy memories. Good luck in your journey 😊
I love this so much!
Your boat is nice and cosy. You are an uplifting person and wish you all the best for your mental health. The ambient mood of sitting in your boat as the water slowly rocks and the calming peace.
The sound of the waves lapping against the hull and wires clinking on masts can be a good background when you want to relax.
You’re lucky. It drives me nuts and keeps me awake all night.
wires clinking on the mast is a *terrible* sound in any kind of wind.
My husband and I were liveaboards for 30 years together - sweet lifestyle! Cruised Mexico for several years. Now we are full time traveling the US in our small travel trailer. Your interior is beautiful!
really good deal for that boat, nice of that guy to give you such a break on it.
Old sea dog here. I want to roll out the dietribe of advice, but I'll remain quite and wish you a fulfilling journey of learning and experiences.
Nice video, Impressed with you, sometimes see people living in vans or boats and they seem like "posers". You strike me as very genuine, love your "style". Be safe, God Bless.
Love your boat and your passion ! remember , mental health is sometimes like diabetes - in that, its a lifelong thing to manage - no shame !! - if you need medication / therapy take it x
So cool, Bennie! Keep it up! I love seeing the updates! 👏🏼👏🏼
What an amazing opportunity for you and your wonderful boat and of course all the people you meet through your travels. Best wishes on your adventure 🧡
It must be quite peaceful on your boat at night, waves slowly rocking your boat!! Sounds really great with so much Kaos going on in our world!! 💫
Thank you for sharing your beautiful home 😊
Thanks for sharing your experience!❤
How awesome Benny! I absolutely loved your story x Nell.
Love your story! I pray your journey will be everything you want it to be! God bless you!
The booms on the Herreshoff are so unique. Looked at them on a 38 i almost bought. Cool boats. Congratulations and Fair Winds
IMHO you are doing the right thing. I built my boat in the 90’s here in San Diego. Launched in 2000 and she has been my home ever since. I’m on a mooring near the Star of India downtown. My plan is to sail a lot locally this summer and head south in November. I’ll make my way north to Puerto Penasco in the spring and leave her on the hard during the hurricane season. You do a great job of describing the lifestyle.
Happiness. Most people, when asked what their goal is, don't say that. Good for you. (And as someone who can retire next year, I have a little wisdom to draw from)
Good for you hun! What an amazing adventure…..life is for living and you are doing it.
Love your boat- looks like you created a great life!
Lovely boat! Lovely philosophy! Wishing you the best adventures on her!
Great to see a lady with get up and go spirit.
Bennie is the coolest!
This is a very unique tiny house here instead of being on wheels
it is on a sailboat but i really like it, the inside is awesome and
I'd like to see more tiny houseboats thank you as always and
can't wait to see what is next.🇺🇲💞⛵⛵💞🇺🇲
That Honduran Mahogany is absolutely beautiful. Love the cook top too.
Amazing Bennie- what a place to call home x
Nice home! You made it your own and this journey you are starting on. I wish you well on your journey and with your home.
Very cool! I love the direction you're taking your life. I can't think of anything better.
starboard used to be the steering side of the boat (majority of people right handed), port side is the dock/port side because the steering gear /steering board was in the way on the other side
The names go back to the Scandinavians and entered the English language via that route but the arrangement goes way back to the earliest boats.
Starboard and port derive from the Portuguese estibordo and bombordo while they were navigating south along the African coast, on the left you had the “good side” with port you could reach the docks, on the the right you had the “star side” (estibordo) or starboard
@@skippywinters
That sounds more like a conflation of the term Posh.. Port side Out Starboard side Home ... because that was the cooler side of the boat . Mostly from days of the 🇬🇧 Empire travelling to the near and far East via Capetown or Suez after it was built.
Not to shatter anyone’s ego but let’s not forget Portugal was sailing down the coast of Africa CENTURIES before the British.
@@skippywinters Yeah, slaving!
Starboard derives from the Norse term.

Thanks for sharing your Journey
This is an amazing story. Very inspiring. :)
for$1k you did well . less is more especially with boats . i had a 62 foot classic Italian yacht and as much as i loved her became overwhelming. i have a 34 foot boat now and it’s better all round. but as all yachts there is always a cost .
Great taste with the interior!
Lovely video . I have considered similar to you and using my boat as therapy for others, so much learning takes place.
Thanks for the video. Great tour by the owner. Sea Dogs are the best.
Your soul and light is very strong. And very nice sailboat I am looking for the same length to live on myself but Polyester probably.
Inspirational! Well done.
Love the boat!!
Beautiful wooden boat ❤.! I too have a (even more tiny) boat/home. She’s a Pacific Seacraft- Flicka 20. Yep. 20 ft. with all the same features as yours. Sleeps 2 adults (v-berth) and one non-adult (quarter berth), head, galley, setee and table.
All you mentioned about maintaining and living and sailing is 1000 % true. I feel so happy and cozy and refocused when in, around and “playing” on my little vessel. It is therapy for sure.
Will take a look a your “Adult Adventures” crew clan.. That describes me!!😂
What an awesome life!🌅
Free spirit! Good for her
Sounds very nice& soothing.🎉😊

The first time I galley chefed on a Scallop boat (steaming) I didn't know you had to secure the pans😳,what a mess🤭!
Good job haggling 👍.
I'm sure you did a fine job with her😍.
Happy Sailing😊🌈.
JO JO IN VT 💞
SAME. And somehow I’d forget each time I started a multi day passage 😂
SO COOL 😎 I LOVE IT ❤

you are absolutely beautiful and brave good luck to you on your adventures
Very cool!

Awesome love it all the best 🙏🏽 🌞 👍🏾 👌🏾
love your story, I have worked with Mahogany as a furniture maker, it's a very special timber, & I like the 'living on a sailing boat' idea, I did do some boat-type work (cray fish trawler) and I didn get off the deck for the whole trip duration I was that sick and have suffered really bad sea sickness when I've done boat fishing, way back, but still love the notion! I do love ginger!!! (apparent sea sick-ness remedy) It initially sounds cheap, the rent anyway, although an uncle of mine who did own and sail boats often said; boats a whole in the ocean of which you pour dollars!!! This comment knows my budget and for me to make real of this dream I would literally be swapping my land house (investment) for the boat life and I know also, as you say/point to adventure being extreemly beneficial, which too is an investment of a different nature! Regardless, I enjoyed your tale, thank you.
Meclazine for seasickness. Take it the night before you go and again in the morning. Take it again if you feel the least queezy. 2 days or so at sea and you will be fine.
wow amazing
I admire you.
Cool Cat Ketch - these are so cool. Was not going to watch then I saw the mast for the main.
The work is it's own reward,
merci
What an amazing woman
I love boats and the sea, I just don't have enough knowledge to operate one...but love to ride!
I’m working on getting a captain’s license now, and I’ve found the best way for me to get experience is to become a good friend to someone with a boat who could use crew. Give them your time and a helping hand and they’ll share what they know 😊
I live on a 38 footer, love it
Interesting rig! How does it sail like pointing?
Everything about sailboats and being on the water is just - well no words for it really. We know! But I gotta dive off subject for a minute - what brand pants are those? So dang cute and look comfy. Sorry. Love your perfect tiny water home. 😊
Love your boat.Looks really cosy!Where are you based now?
That boat is older than me. But I guess you can't go wrong with the 80s. I've always wanted a Tayana 37, but I definitely can't afford one.
Hi there your boats cool, I really like the cabin setup , it makes a lot of other boats look boring.you got a bargain believe me
I love your atitude and hopes for the future, your boat looks lovely and homely but (not being negative) i mentally i see heavy seas and everything being thrown around..stay safe and live your dream.
YOUR CUTE,I HAVE BEEN SALING FOR 55 YEARS !
Booyah!!! Keep sailing my brother! 👊✊🏴☠️
It all looks lovely in an edited video, but living in boats, vehicles and RVs has its disadvantages too. I've done it. The headaches and expenses of constantly fixing and improving things and having to adapt to all the hundreds of inconveniences on a daily basis is a hassle that gets old quickly. When I was younger this was more appealing. Now as I'm older, not so much lol. But good for her for embracing adventure while she can. 👍
Groovy video. Lots of luck. Be careful. talk with a lot of real sailors. Take an experienced sailing friend or partner with you.
Who made the vessel the manufacturer?

What a cutie..Forgive me for being a bit forward and thinking out loud
Hi, love your boat, keep me in mind for I will be launching my website and channel soon to raise my sails
You sailed accross the Atlantic your second time on a boat ? How is that achievable did you hire a skipper . I find the whole thing about boats overwhelming all the stuff you need to know . Tho living on a boat would be a dream especially somewhere with nice weather
I found the opportunity online - a captain was searching for crew to help with watches, didn’t require experience. Just a good attitude, good work ethics, and the ability to handle being at sea for a month with a bunch of strangers.
❤
Amazing that you sailed with a bunch of strangers across an ocean! Were any of them abnormally weird?
Just some Swedish guy that was obsessed with knots and a song about frogs. Other than that I’d say it was pretty normal 😜
🥇
Yes, but can she sail it?
As a father that has a daughter that feels the way you do! I give you a big 👍! Do what you ❤️ love! Good luck in everything!
Does she have her own channel?
Beautiful Woman and Sailboat .
Damn girl! Go u
Howdy,
Is that a Herreshoff?
-Scott
Sure is! (wrong Herreshoff though 😂)
@@benniemeetsworld It’s not the wrong Herreshoff. Halsey is the grandson of N.G. Herreshoff, nephew of L. Francis Herreshoff, son of Sidney Herreshoff and an accomplished designer and racer. Halsey is now 91 years old. He founded the Herreshoff Marine Museum and America’s Cup Hall of Fame and raced on numerous Cup campaigns.
I’m glad I found your channel- I too live aboard & my mental well being has improved!
I’ll follow your channel ⛵️!
I lived on my 28 ft Hereschoff for 8 years untill it was destroyed by cyclone Debbie in 2017.

A wooden sail boat is a nightmare of a expence nothing like all fiberglass with a large outboard
I am surprised that more people do not buy boats to live on, even in the city, parked on a trailer. And you would be ready for a flood...
$700 a month for the boat spot in the marina? Did I get it right? Seems a lot of money to me.
It is a lot for a slip. But it’s a great marina with an awesome community, and one of the few marinas that allows liveaboards in the area. Waterfront property in San Diego ain’t cheap 😅 hoping to get her fixed up enough to go to a mooring ball soon.
