“Don’t Lose My Number”, “Groovy Kind of Love”, “One More Night”, and “Take Me Home” are all good solo songs by Phil. Also,”Throwing it All Away” with Genesis is really good.
Easy Lover- Phil Collins and 🎉🎉Philip Bailey (from Earth wind and fire). J/A there is complete confidence that you two will love this top three charting song from the mid 80s. It is so upbeat and so fun.
My brother and I used to sing that as a duet when we were kids but since I was younger and a girl, I so had to sing the higher Philip Bailey part. I always got mad but grew up to be a musi major (not a vocal major but we DID have to practice sight singing which I HATED!) so I appreciate why.
100% would love to see a reaction to Easy Lover. Always thought I was related to Philip Bailey. He looks like one of my brothers and we share the same surname!
Back in 1988, Phil played the lead in a movie called "Buster." "Two Hearts" is a song from that film's soundtrack. Oh, and there are movie clips in this video (assuming you haven't seen the movie). I believe the other track is titled "Groovy Kind of Love," which is another great song. Phil is one of my all-time favourite recording artists so I never get tired of hearing his music.
Loved that soundtrack and film, nothing beats the intro of keep on running. He also has a writing and producing credit for Loco In Acapulco which is another great tune.
Remember when Ringtones and Ringback tones first came out with real songs to choose from and you had to pick One for the year, otherwise you were paying 4.99 per song change? After listening to every song Verizon offered and considering everyone around me would hear it when it rang… I chose Wish It Would Rain Down, because of Clapton’s guitar and Phil’s voice. My heart felt that anyone who heard it out in public would like it too and those who knew it would close their eyes and sway their heads along with the music nostalgia. I even got a hat tip from my older brother for making him listen to it before leaving a voicemail at the beep. Pretty sure Amber was a baby when Ringbacks were popular. Fun times.
ONE song from Tarzan?!? He did the whole dang soundtrack AND won the Oscar! You’ll Be In My Heart and Strangers Like Me are my favourites from that movie. And you have to dive more into Phil Collins, whether it’s more of his solo or with Genesis. Easy Lover with Phil Bailey is gold!
I grew up on Phil Collins, Billy Joel, and Huey Lewis and so many more, Prince, MJ, Madonna, Cyndi Lauper, The Eagles, etc. I feel so lucky. These songs all generate nostalgia for me. ❤
His live version of this in the early 90's was FIRE! "Serious Hits Live" is one of the greatest live albums ever. "Don't Lose My Number" is an upbeat underrated track you guys would love!
"Serious Hits Live" is indeed one of the very few times when - IMO - an artist has done a fair few of their songs better than they did in the studio. Of course on the quiet songs it still has idiots in the audience making stupid noises which gets very annoying after a couple of listens, but the live versions of "Do you Remember" and "Another Day in Paradise" and others are top notch!
What I loved about Phil Collins at the time is that even tho he had a solo career he still made music with Genesis. His solo stuff was more R&B oriented than his Genesis material!
Phil Collins was fearless. He could be serious, 'hip', or totally nerdy and silly. He could bear his soul, but he always gave his whole soul. His movie 'Buster' needed an original song to sound like a '60s tune, so he wrote one. He grew up playing R&B and knew all the great artists, so he asked one of the best '60s composers to help him, Lamont Dozier. Collins always worked with the best!
"Two Hearts" comes from the Soundtrack of the 1988 movie "Buster" where Phil Collins plays the title role in the film of Buster Edwards who was a member of the gang that robbed the Royal Mail post train in 1963, the gang got away with £2.61m ( $3.34m) which in today's money is £61m $77.97m The movie has many great tracks from the time and some specially written tracks for the movie
How many songs did Phil Collins do for Tarzan? Released on Walt Disney Records, the soundtrack contains five songs by Phil Collins and five tracks of score by Mark Mancina. While Collins wrote the songs, Mancina worked with him and orchestrated them so that there would be a seamless flow between the songs and the score. 👍🏻🤩🏴
The one and only Phil Collins. His age is catching up with him now. The 70s to 90s, the best years with great singers, groups and music. Thanks for reacting to him. From Malaysia
Phil's blue-eyed soul really comes out on this one because he had the honor of co-writing it with legendary Motown composer Lamont Dozier. And this was the last of three videos in which he used the "MultiPhils' gag, the others being "You Can't Hurry Love" and "Missed Again". However, for a highly entertaining video, I recommend you try the clip for Phil's 1985 hit "Don't Lose My Number". Have fun!
This is actually from a film starring Phil Collins called Buster which was about the Great Train Robbery which happened in 1963. You guys should check it out on your movie channel for sure.
3:58 If you read his biography book, "Not Dead Yet," Phil actually grew up with alot of the Motown craze in addition to all those big bands. Besides his drumming in Brand X and his other heavy hits under all his pop hits, he really nails the motown vibes especially his last studio album with his takes on classics!
I love how they incorporated some brief clips from the movie “Buster” in which Phil played the lead role of Buster ..based off a true story of the Royal Mail train robbery!.. I loved watching him in it as well as his Miami Vice appearance as “Phil the shill “ also is the name of the episodes he was in.. Great
Yes..if you're in the mood for a slow ballad but with heart string tugging..."Seperate Lives" for sure!! WARNING - You might not want to listen if you've had a recent breakup!!
We all love Phil Collins. I think you would be blown away with the power of his song I Wish It would rain down with Eric Clapton slow hand style guitar. The video is amazing too
I love her reaction to Phil’s vocal dip on Hearts at 5:50 Phil just has incredible energy and is able to emote so well as a singer. Some singers you listen to and you love what their voice does for the song but it’s just a voice. It does the job. And then some singers you listen to but it’s the person and you’re hearing and you feel them. That’s Phil Collins. You feel him. It’s just an awesome energy
Brings back happy memories. Was at a Phil concert with my daughter and we were dancing away to this. Can I also suggest You can’t hurry love? Phil went through a phase when he did some Motown covers.
Between 1981 - 2003, Phil Collins charted 7 #1 singles on the Billboard Hot 100. "Two Hearts" was his 6th #1 (2 weeks), released 11/19/88 and charted for 18 weeks. Song was from a movie "Buster" that starred Phil Collins
Guys you haven’t done early Genesis when it was led by Peter Gabriel. Completely different era of the band. Check out the Genesis masterpiece “Firth of Fifth”
I just love Phil Collins. He's an icon, so many great songs and he's just so funny. Even now with his failing health problems and he can't drum anymore. He's just always had that "it" factor. ❤
There’s one big hit of Phil Collins that no one seems to react to, and that is “Something Happened On The Way To Heaven”. Definitely check it out…great energy!
Great reaction. Phil loves Motown, and this sounds like it could have been recorded at 2648 West Grand Boulevard. Phil wrote and produced this song with Lamont Dozier. Catchy tune. Thanks again
Phil is simply a beast. There aren't many artists who had the longevity of hit making that he had.

The Man - Phil Collins - so so underrated - he should already be in the Hall of Fame So glad you guys react to all of his fantastic music. Much Love from Ohio
Yesss. Some Phil Collins, ya cannot go wron g with Phil. When he was with Genesis he had a song called "Mama"... Its very different, but still great. Have always loved this one. ❤❤🎼🎙
In addition to being on the soundtrack of the film "Buster," this song is a pastiche and a tribute to the classic Motown sound of the '60s. It was co-written by Lamont Dozier, one of the great songwriters of the legendary Motown songwriting team Holland-Dozier-Holland. Collins also recorded a cover of the Motown classic "You Can't Hurry Love" a couple of years before this one.
My Late Dad Was Definitely A Big Fan Of This Great Artist,I Thinks Of Him, Whenever I Play Phill Collins Music,His Favorite Album Was,No Jacket Required,My Dad Knew Every Song On That Album
love the bridge in this song - and Phil has such an interesting singing style - always amazed how his voice shifts gears - half the time it sounds like he is screaming, but for some reason his scream voice is still very pleasant on the ear
Great song! Another fun Phil Collins song I recommend reacting to is "Don't Lose My Number" released in 1985. The video is also pretty cool. I love Phil Collins 😊
You may notice the 60's style film in the background which is where Phil plays the role (yes as an actor) of Buster Edwards who was one the Great Train Robbers who robbed a train of 2.6 Million pounds in 1963 which was transporting unneeded bank notes. Buster was the comedian of the gang. "Groovy Kind of Love" was on the soundtrack. Very good film and Phil was very good. Phil is brilliant and Pete Townsend of Genesis said they waited until Phil released a new single and after listening to it they said "Oh god he has done it again" meaning every song he wrote was exceptional along with his performance. A brilliant artist and performer.
One of his 8 number one songs two early 80s songs from him are Misunderstanding Missed Again with Genesis Invisible Touch In too deep keep up the great work guys
Phil Collins did the entire soundtrack for Tarzan - "You'll Be In My Heart", "Trashin' The Camp", "Son of Man", "Strangers Like Me" are all Phil Collins songs.
This is a classic track for all kinds of reasons. Nobody seems to have mentioned that this track was co-written and co-produced by Lamont Dozier - one third of the Motown 1960s writing powerhouse of Holland-Dozier-Holland (they probably wrote most of your favourite Motown hits). Obviously that is why this song very much has that classic motown feel to it.
I love Phil Collins. My aunt was obsessed with him, she'd always play his CD pretty loud, especially when we were home from school for the holidays. She loved his balding head lol
He was one of the biggest artists of the 80s. Not just in america but globally. His no jacket required album was a juggernaut. He covered so many genres of music. One of the greatest drummers but then came out as one of the greatest singers also!
Phil Collin’s actually composed the whole soundtrack for “Tarzan”. Y’all should include the kids on a movie reaction day and rewatch/react to it with them. He is absolutely one of the most talented musicians out there.
I hope you can add “missed again” by Phil Collins. Some old Genesis from the 80s like “no reply at all”,”turn it on again” and “misunderstanding” are classics
2:44 That bass line is Leland Sklar....an absolutely legendary bassist...still playing on live tours Summer of 2023 with Lyle Lovett. Sklar has recorded his awesome bass lines on over 2,000 albums with every major artist from the 1960's to present.... He is the bassist on many Collins projects incuding Sussudio.....
if you want to see just how amazing Phil Collins is, then watch Drums, Drums and More Drums - the opening act to one of his concerts - absolutely amazing and powerful
This wasn't the first time Phil depicted himself as every member of a band, he did it before in the video for "I missed again" but in that one, while he did portray every single musician in the band, he actually wasn't playing any instruments.
One philly song that’s must hear phil Collins is …Something happened on the Way to Heaven you will really and truly be tapping your feet through the whole song
While I love Two Hearts and appreciated your reaction, I can't believe you guys still haven't reacted to three of my very favorite Phil Collins songs: "Take Me Home", "Easy Lover" (with Phillip Bailey), and "I Wish It Would Rain Down" (w/Eric Clapton).
I love Amber's vibing. Shes into the groove. Thats what this song does for the listener! J is on the groove too! This song is a vibe! And that bridge is captivating
Phil Collins maybe doesn't have the fireworks of some other artists but he's just so talented. Sings, plays drums, and writes. He wrote a lot of the songs on the Tarzan soundtrack,"You'll be in my heart" was written for his daughter Lily. For other songs you've got to listen to "I wish it would rain down" with guitar by the legendary Eric Clapton, "River So Wide", and "Easy Lover" which he sang with Philip Bailey.
Loads of great songs by Phil Collins still out there waiting for you! Try some live versions! Next to being a great musician he also has always been an exceptional entertainer. And his live band was terrific! And please, try some old Genesis pieces. "Firth Of Fifth" is a magical piece of music, a monolith that's been out for 50 years now! Phil's drumming is excellent on that one. It's one of those 70's prog works that take you on a journey - like the much loved by you Pink Floyd.
Yeah, I did notice that he's playing all the instruments. I know he's a fan of McCartney .... and McCartney did a video titled "Coming Up" which has him playing all the instruments as well.
“Don’t Lose My Number”, “Groovy Kind of Love”, “One More Night”, and “Take Me Home” are all good solo songs by Phil. Also,”Throwing it All Away” with Genesis is really good.
I love all these songs. Don't forget "Taking It All Too Hard" with Genesis and "Something Happened On The Way To Heaven" by Phil as a solo artist.
Don’t lose my number is a favorite of mine, along with others of course!
DAMN GOOD LIST, and they’re ALL big records!!!
I just commented about “Easy Lover” collab with Phillip Bailey from EWF!! They haven’t done that one yet either.
I prefer all those to this one, I guess Two Hearts was so overplayed back when that I got enough of it.
Easy Lover- Phil Collins and 🎉🎉Philip Bailey (from Earth wind and fire). J/A there is complete confidence that you two will love this top three charting song from the mid 80s. It is so upbeat and so fun.
Yes, yes please!!

I agree

He also has a track in the movie called 'Big Noise' which is very good.
Buster was a good friend of my fathers he was a lovely fella.
Loved that soundtrack and film, nothing beats the intro of keep on running. He also has a writing and producing credit for Loco In Acapulco which is another great tune.
not a bad film at all.
As soon as I saw him, my brain screamed ~ Buster! Good to see ya again, nttg hat tip. The missing note 🎵 ~ 😂
"I Wish It Would Rain Down" is a great one from Phil Collins. It has the great Eric Clapton on guitar🎸
Great suggestion ❤️
1000%
Yep agreed there 👍
Remember when Ringtones and Ringback tones first came out with real songs to choose from and you had to pick One for the year, otherwise you were paying 4.99 per song change?

Fun times.
Fo Sho. Jeff Beck on guitar on that one. But Seriously is a good album.
‘Easy Lover’ with Philip Bailey from Earth Wind and Fire is a great duet! The video shows their great sense of humour and joking around together 😊

Yes! Absolutely. I'll soon be 50 and grew up on the same people. I so appreciate that time period! I wouldn't trade that time for anything else.
1:46-Notice how Phil is all of the members of the group, just like how Andre Benjamin was all of the band members in the video for Hey-Ya?
Great point!
Great songs!❤
His live version of this in the early 90's was FIRE! "Serious Hits Live" is one of the greatest live albums ever. "Don't Lose My Number" is an upbeat underrated track you guys would love!
That was one of the first CD's I ever bought via a Columbia House membership as a teenager. 😊
@@carriesmith742 Ah good ol' Columbia House. I still owe them $0.99 😂
This song features the film Phil STARRED in! Loosely based on a true story of a criminal. The film is called "Buster".
Oh I love that song...so many memories. Growing up in that era was just so amazing. ❤
"Serious Hits Live" is indeed one of the very few times when - IMO - an artist has done a fair few of their songs better than they did in the studio. His cover of 'You Can't Hurry Love' is very good.
Great video!
Phil Collins can do it all--even classic Motown!
It was the first track on the first 'Now that's what I call music' compilation albums!
THAT’S A COVER????
@@hali_55 Riiight?!?!?!

Anything from Phil Collins is good no matter witch song you listen to.

Jay & Amber, you'll love his "Easy Lover" (w/ Philip Bailey of Earth, Wind & Fire) and "One More Night"!!
My favourite Phil Collins song
Mine too
Such a great performer/Singer/Songwriter, Solo and with Genesis. Land of Confusion is the absolute best.
The name of the song is "You'll Be In My Heart" . He also won an Oscar at the 72nd Academy Awards. Phil started out as a child actor.
Lmao... Dude. HE WROTE THE ENTIRE SOUNDTRACK..... Not just that song.
This is from his movie Buster! Worth watching, he has it all music , acting, and great guy.❤

Yes..if you're in the mood for a slow ballad but with heart string tugging..."Seperate Lives" for sure!! WARNING - You might not want to listen if you've had a recent breakup!!
From the "She knows, she knows" ramp up at about 2/3- 3/4 done, it's a headbanging romantic pop song. So damn good!
This was used on the soundtrack to the film 'Buster' which starred Phil Collins, based on a train robbery - a good film!
Yip ... You guys should check out the film to react to :)!
I got the Buster soundtrack on tape for Christmas when I was a kid. Didn't realize Santa made tapes and records but he came through that year.
There was also a music video for this song with Phil in a wrestling ring with [the late] Ultimate Warrior throwing him around like a ragdoll! 🤣
We all love Phil Collins. I think you would be blown away with the power of his song I Wish It would rain down with Eric Clapton slow hand style guitar. The video is amazing too
Preach it brother. It's a good one.
Phil Collins has written and sang on so many soundtracks, many of them for Disney movies! One of the most talented artists of ALL TIME!
Phil did the entire "Tarzan" soundtrack. "You'll Be In My Heart" was a big hit from that soundtrack.
I love this song. I totally agree with Easy Lover request ( video).
I love her reaction to Phil’s vocal dip on Hearts at 5:50
Phil just has incredible energy and is able to emote so well as a singer.

You cannot talk about 80s music without mentioning Phil. He was one of the musicians who created the vibe and feeling of 80s music.
Phil Collins "TAKE ME HOME" is sooo good ❤️
They'll both love this song, especially Jay.
@@user-or1ye3iz6dI like Take Me Home as well.Peter Gabriel and Sting are providing backing vocals if you listen carefully.

Phil Collins in the 80's was a GEM and even now is still incredible to listen to. We are lucky to have his music. 🎵🎶🎵💞💞

My Late Dad Was Definitely A Big Fan Of This Great Artist,I Thinks Of Him, Whenever I Play Phill Collins Music,His Favorite Album Was,No Jacket Required,My Dad Knew Every Song On That Album
Wow! What a great song. The up tempo beat disguises the lyrics which are truly sad. I didn't realize this until I read the liner notes to this song.
love the bridge in this song - and Phil has such an interesting singing style - always amazed how his voice shifts gears - half the time it sounds like he is screaming, but for some reason his scream voice is still very pleasant on the ear
You’ll be in my heart. From Tarzan. It’s my daughter and my song since she was 8 years old.
If I remember correctly Phil did the entire soundtrack to Disney’s Tarzan movie.
One of his 8 number one songs two early 80s songs from him are Misunderstanding Missed Again with Genesis Invisible Touch In too deep keep up the great work guys
Me and my pops used to say that in the late 80/90s if you scanned through the radio Phil will be on there somewhere
Phil Collins is probably the most diverse musician ever from prog Pop, Motown, Rock, jazz fusion he can do it all.
I would love to see you're reaction to Genesis, MISUNDERSTANDING. Its A great song
From mid 80s to mid 90s phil was the man. Anything he touches turned gold
love phil collins (solo & in genesis). he was super-duper popular in the day. still is, with me
For me he is the best singer. All my live, his songs accompagnied me.
I love Phil Collins. My aunt was obsessed with him, she'd always play his CD pretty loud, especially when we were home from school for the holidays. She loved his balding head lol
Fun song! Also check out “I Wish It would Rain Down” Phil singing with Eric Clapton on guitar. “Easy Lover” with Philip Bailey of Earth Wind and Fire.
This was co-written by Lamont Dozier, one of greatest songwriters responsible for many of the Motown hits.
Awesome. Phil's hit Take Me Home is pure 🔥. The Tarzan song is You'll Be In My Heart. It's solid too.
He was one of the biggest artists of the 80s. Not just in america but globally. His no jacket required album was a juggernaut. He covered so many genres of music. One of the greatest drummers but then came out as one of the greatest singers also!

This and easy Lover with Philip Bailey are easily my fav Phil Collins songs, so uplifting ❤
Phil is a legend... sooo many great songs
if you want to see just how amazing Phil Collins is, then watch Drums, Drums and More Drums - the opening act to one of his concerts - absolutely amazing and powerful
Phil Collins' first solo tour was my very first concert. I went with my older brother and his friend. It was amazing!
🎉 I have this song on a single tape, great song 🎵 1983 Did anyone notice that he's playing all the instruments ?
Yeah, I did notice that he's playing all the instruments. I know he's a fan of McCartney .... and McCartney did a video titled "Coming Up" which has him playing all the instruments as well.
ONE OF THE BEEEEEEEST SONGS EVEEEER LOVE HIM
As a little boy, Phil Collins was in the Beatles movie 'A hard day's night'. Also, former Motown songwriter, Norman Whitfield, wrote this song.
Phil was in a film called Buster its definitely worth watching 👍🏻🤩🏴
Phil Collins had a thing for Motown music so many of his songs had a Motown flavor to them this is one of them. Good reaction.
