He didn't lose weight just by drinking this shake, he lost weight due to a caloric deficit. If this shake + all the other foods help you lose weight than that's the great!
I agree, everyone thinks certain foods and certain macros r why they r losing weight but it's really just calories in vs calories out, sad part is it takes very little education to know this yet the majority of people of people out there don't....

Try coffee with tiny amount of cream. Technichally it breaks a fast, but 10 calories or so will not hurt you since it's a way to help you avoid eating. It worked for me and I look at it as, if it helps me reach my goal, so be it. I was hardcore fasting, but my metabolism has adjusted after being near perfect for 8 months, and I realize what I did wrong with daily intermittent fasting.

I've found overripe avocados taste like overripe bananas without the starch and sugar. That would be my choice. (BTW: avocado freezes beautifully). It also means you can use them, rather than toss them out, if you miss that seemingly 30 minute window when they're good 😉. As for that chocolate syrup, you are not wrong! It's absolutely vile!
I don't have luck with freezing avocados myself BUT the packaged frozen avocado chunks are ideal for smoothies. Maybe they're flash-frozen or something so it works better.
It reminds me of when my parents used to buy fat free cheese when I was younger. Absolutely the worst food product you could buy, it was almost literally just plastic and probably full of enough chemicals to justify it.
They are definitely creamier but not sweeter to me, I like to stick to bananas for that reason and also bc avocados where I live are very expensive and we are a family of four.

I also find a lot of independent health food stores will order stuff in for you. And protein powder, I say use whatever you like (we are Vega folks). Best of luck
Interesting recipe. I think I'd rather use an avocado than a banana. Of course I'd have to add some sweetener to compensate. Besides being on keto I am also on a candida cleanse diet, so I really need to eliminate as many carbs as possible.
Wow, tried the non-banana version and it's absolutely delicious and so much easier to make than all the baking oreo-based recipes out there. Definitely going to meal prep this in bulk in the future, just blending all the non-ice ingredients together into a large container then adding 1.5 cups of ice into a single-serve blending cup with a serving of mix when I want one.

I just made it using whole milk, baking cocoa powder, sf vanilla pudding mix, vanilla protein powder and ice. Very good and filling. Might add less ice (I did 3 cups) but overall it’s good.

He didn't say this was a keto recipe. If you want to make it keto you can definitely tweak the ingredients to make it lower in carbs and sugar. I don't do keto anymore so I'm going to try this out.

I've been loving making smoothies! I'm a fairly normal weight (135) but I've gained about 10 lbs in the past year. I've found that adding a bunch of spinach and random veggies like frozen cauliflower - their flavor totally disappears when you add in a banana and some PB. I've been able to lose weight slowly but steadily just by having one smoothie a day, and it's made me more open to eating veggies in general
Just made this... WOW! It is SO worth ordering the Black Cocoa Powder!!! I didn't have banana, or avocado like some suggest, and I didn't have sf vanilla pudding. However, I did have sf cheesecake pudding, and it is GOOD in this. I also only had unflavored IsoPure protein powder, and that works too. No matter what, it tastes so yummy! I might be making this every other day, because I had to put half of it into the fridge for later, it made a lot! Thanks Joe!
My go to has always been a lot of ice, a half cup of milk, chocolate peanut butter whey protein, 1 tablespoon of peanut butter, and a little bit of xanthan gum. You’ll get about 20 ounces (more if you use more ice) with only around 250 calories and 34 ish grams of protein. I’m definitely gonna try this though!

Appreciate that the shake satiates you, but on top of this, what else had you incorporated to lose the 20lbs? Fitness regime, calorie restriction, solely keto diet (although the banana wouldn't really work for that diet)...
1/8 tsp of xanthan gum would work as well to thicken the drink. I made a strawberry milk shake using a sugar free strawberry drink mix, Almond milk, fresh lime juice, xanthan gum and ice. The possibilities are endless!
What are the total calories in the entire 50oz. shake? How many carbs? Did you eat dinner or ONLY drink this during your weight loss? No way could I be happy on just a shake a day? I'm not into just liquid diets.

Why not replace that chemical pudding mix with vanilla flavored collagen/mct powder….that’s what I’d do. We need to be more aware of the chemicals in our food. I’ll be making this. Thank you
That's awesome that you lost 20 pounds with this shake! It's really cool how you have all these great ideas. One thing I would recommend is cleaning up your ingredients though a little bit. Hershey's is not exactly something you want in your body with all the garbage they put in their chocolate. And if it's sugar-free chocolate syrup, it's gotta make you wonder what chemical they are using to sweeten it.
If you don’t want to use it you can easily do a homemade SF chocolate syrup to ensure the ingredients meet your nutritional needs! Some don’t mind on a few less than stellar ingredients for the convince factors though all just depends on how busy you are!
My only questions are about the margarine in the fridge 😄, and I thought it was more ideal to not spike insulin first thing. I guess because it's low fat and we wouldn't be storing the dietary fat... but wouldn't it turn off body-fat-burning?

Banana is not keto friendly you can use avocado which is neutral in taste and makes it very creamy , as for sugar never use normal sugar use stevia , monkfruit or erythritol sugar in power or syrup.

I'm going to switch the banana out for avocado. It's perfectly creamy and undetectable taste wise in smoothies. Black cocoa powder is the best!

He didn't say this was a keto recipe. If you want to make it keto you can definitely tweak the ingredients to make it lower in carbs and sugar. I don't do keto anymore so I'm going to try this out.

How does this make 50 oz? I'm counting 8 x 4 for the milk and ice, a bit more for the banana and flavorings? Or is air getting beat into it to make increased volume?
I've been loving making smoothies! I'm a fairly normal weight (135) but I've gained about 10 lbs in the past year. I've found that adding a bunch of spinach and random veggies like frozen cauliflower - their flavor totally disappears when you add in a banana and some PB. I've been able to lose weight slowly but steadily just by having one smoothie a day, and it's made me more open to eating veggies in general
I made it with what I had, skim milk banana vanilla protein regular cocoa powder and it was delicious

I would use half and half, low in carbs but higher in fat. Or Picnik is good too and at Costco.
Believe it or not 2 tablespoons of Half n half has 1 g of carbs. Much better than whole milk, low-fat, etc.

Just made this... WOW! It is SO worth ordering the Black Cocoa Powder!!! I didn't have banana, or avocado like some suggest, and I didn't have sf vanilla pudding. However, I did have sf cheesecake pudding, and it is GOOD in this. I also only had unflavored IsoPure protein powder, and that works too. No matter what, it tastes so yummy! I might be making this every other day, because I had to put half of it into the fridge for later, it made a lot! Thanks Joe!

My go to has always been a lot of ice, a half cup of milk, chocolate peanut butter whey protein, 1 tablespoon of peanut butter, and a little bit of xanthan gum. You’ll get about 20 ounces (more if you use more ice) with only around 250 calories and 34 ish grams of protein. I’m definitely gonna try this though!
did you drink this all day to lose weight? or was this just a breakfast or 1 meal a day kind of weight loss shake? did you go 12 weeks with just this shake all day? and how often did you make it in the day?

Appreciate that the shake satiates you, but on top of this, what else had you incorporated to lose the 20lbs? Fitness regime, calorie restriction, solely keto diet (although the banana wouldn't really work for that diet)...

1/8 tsp of xanthan gum would work as well to thicken the drink. I made a strawberry milk shake using a sugar free strawberry drink mix, Almond milk, fresh lime juice, xanthan gum and ice. The possibilities are endless!

What are the total calories in the entire 50oz. shake? How many carbs? Did you eat dinner or ONLY drink this during your weight loss? No way could I be happy on just a shake a day? I'm not into just liquid diets.

Why not replace that chemical pudding mix with vanilla flavored collagen/mct powder….that’s what I’d do. We need to be more aware of the chemicals in our food. I’ll be making this. Thank you

That's awesome that you lost 20 pounds with this shake! It's really cool how you have all these great ideas. One thing I would recommend is cleaning up your ingredients though a little bit. Hershey's is not exactly something you want in your body with all the garbage they put in their chocolate. And if it's sugar-free chocolate syrup, it's gotta make you wonder what chemical they are using to sweeten it.
If you don’t want to use it you can easily do a homemade SF chocolate syrup to ensure the ingredients meet your nutritional needs! Some don’t mind on a few less than stellar ingredients for the convince factors though all just depends on how busy you are!
My only questions are about the margarine in the fridge 😄, and I thought it was more ideal to not spike insulin first thing. I guess because it's low fat and we wouldn't be storing the dietary fat... but wouldn't it turn off body-fat-burning?

Banana is not keto friendly you can use avocado which is neutral in taste and makes it very creamy , as for sugar never use normal sugar use stevia , monkfruit or erythritol sugar in power or syrup.

@@kash4328 It's not the carbs that hurt your joints, it's the gluten in the carbs/and sugar in the other carbs.
