  • Many people don't realize how we sleep affects our spine health. We all make sure to take the time to stretch and correct our posture throughout the day, but what are we doing to help our spine at night?
    All three postures play a significant role in our spine health. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the average civilian worker spent 43.6% of the workday sitting and 56.4% standing. At night, the average person gets roughly 7 hours of sleep, which means that proper posture is crucial during these times.
    We spoke with Professor Blake Daniels, DC, BS, about all three posture types and what each should look like.
