Shadow of the Colossus PS4 Remaster Basaran Boss Battle Playstation Remake 60fps
Gotta admit, seeing Basaran's energy cannon glowing through the fog is definitely a cool sight you wouldn't get in the original.
The first time I saw him rear up, it was up close from the side - the cloudy sun was behind him and it looked so epic.
The fight was funny, I kept standing up on Agro's back, trick riding under Basaran's stomach and jumping off to grab the fur. It was a while of hanging there unable to move before I figured out the geyser thing.
We using rusty cannon again?
I love how they changed it in the remake where the music cuts out before he topples over, then once the bang hits the music kicks back up.
Beating Basaran as a child was like winning an award lol.
They like picking on children I did say Hela likes little children guy they took it the wrong way
The thing i love about this game is just the sheer size of the monster when you are fighting it up close
yes. that is, inded, the premise of the game lmao
And then you have Celosia and Cenobia...
And the Epic music.
When "Revived Power" kicks in I always get teary-eyed and hyped, that theme is fucking incredible.
Me too and the fact that it start at the same time Basaran fall on the side in front of you make it way better for me
Doesn’t beat The Opened Way, A Despair-Filled Fairwell and In Awe Of The Power
@@OlivierVinet98one last ride was few days ago 😂
Just fought this Colossi. Until now it has been the most cinematic, epic, nerveracking fight. Probably because of the ambience and the fact that you had to use your horse and the camera shots from him are so epic
Just watched an episode of Coyote Peterson, and I just realized that Basaran is an Alligator Snapping Turtle
Well, the developers did call him "Kame" which means Turtle in japanese
Chadderbug how do u know these things!?
@@TheFreakShow2417 X2... 😶
Where did the dice turtle patch go?
Common guys what we doing now 😭
The part where basaran flips and revived power plays is such a cinematic moment.
If you say so 😂
@@Dragon-Slay3r hm?
I’ve FINALLY DONE IT AFTER LIKE NEARNLY TWO HOURS, YEEEEESSSS!!!!!
That took me forever I’m sweating
and to think it's only 1/16th of a soul that powers these things
"Soul" is not the word for Dormin's pieces, warrior. We know this to be true.
More like entity
My one gaming regret I still have is buying a strategy guide along with this game when it came out on PS2.
how'd you only take 6 minutes when it took me an hour
Practice, probably.
This Colossus is underated, and THAT'S a FACT
this colossus should not exist
Still stuck on this one. Had to take a break a few minutes ago because it’s really pissing me off and giving me a headache
Same
exactly now at this very moment I'm experiencing this too
Just ride agro around a geyser while taunting it with arrows and lead it while dodging its attacks. It may take awhile if you don't immediately shoot straight for the geyser.
This boss is the most anmoying piece of shit but you make it look so easy. Hats off to you!
Out of all the colossi in the game, I'd say this one's probably my least favourite. Constantly toying with the camera, and slowly getting Basaran onto the geysers (when he isn't stopping to shoot lightning/fire balls at you) is very annoying. Especially if said geysers run out of time or if he's just sliiiightly off from the direct point for him to loose balance. Atleast it's easier to do and work with once he's flipped on his back.
it's relatively easy to make him go above the geyser. the fourth one, where you have to go under the hill, and have to make the colossus look down is a pain in the ass though. but this colossus is my favorite
Benedek Nagy You mean Phaedra?
It’s really easy to fall of him I’ve fell off like 6 times before stabbing him to 2/3 he and falling again and climbing and finishing off, dying once in the 6 first times I fell
I honestly hate him.
The geysers being limited is extremely stupid imo, plus when he flips back to normal after the player climbs his belly, it is easy to fall off due to his lack of fur to grab on since he might be able to launch you when he flips over. His lack of fur on his back also makes it easy to fall off when walking on his back.
Personally I have no problem, but I can see inexperienced players struggling and hating him.
First time I fought Basaran I was legit too frustrated trying to figure out how to mount this giant lightning breathing turtle.
That what happens when you make me work on my day off 😂
finally, a boss fight video without any talking! ty!
This was so difficult on normal mode
Ikr
and hard mode
Vaya y el lo iso en menos de 2 minutos... 😐
What kind of people could dislike this its just the bosses gameplay
That colossus shooting fireball things head looks like the reverse bear trap
N1TR0 G4M1NG From dbd?
The reverse bear trap is from SAW not from DBD you fuggin dork
This remake looks so amazing...
Will have shadows of The Colossus 2?
Thank you so much it was so hard for me
This is the only colossus I truly hate. Beaten the game three times now, and I’ve always struggled for a bit with this one.
What about dirge
Dirge is quite fun once you get the hang of it but Basaran is just so frustrating and it's also the only Colossus I (to put it friendly) quite dislike! It's far cooler running away from a giant Centipede staring at you than desperately trying to move a giant Tortoise onto a geyser.
@@spidertheo3613 sand snake
And then there’s Celosia…
I’ve been doing this for like an hour and I have had 6 failed attempts to climb him
climb from his arms, then up his belly, then when you're on top, wait for him to start rolling and jump towards his back.
The impact of when he flips back over made me fly away like 5,000 feet
Agro also kept running away into the distance which was really frustrating
@@alextheconfuddled8983 Haha its part of the challenge. Controlling that horse is sometimes more difficult than beating a colossus.. Its frustrating
Jappeth Ben Tagud He fires fireballs every split second and Agro was so hard to control, I had to keep going side to side, but quick turning is so hard to do, anyway, Agro just kept getting knocked over with me losing fair chunks of hp
I got lost after running around after i beat the second colossus
I CANNOT make the jump onto his belly after he's flipped over. I thought I was doing something wrong so I looked up a couple videos and everyone else has no problem whatsoever. They just jump right on. I'm so frustrated.
Manga Lloyd are you pressing R1 when you get up there? haha
As it flips make sure you're on the skin in between the shell and ledge so when it flips over, you are sort of flipped with it. Of course you have to crouch so you aren't flipped off immediately.
I love the music
This one like pelagia actually scared me the first time I saw it
What about Dirge
Very incredible basaran
My favourite colossus.
1:33 You aren't going to...Wait WHAT THE HELL?
gosh this battle seems so irritating, but the boss itself is very cool!
Shit i remember beign almost impossible to dodge those fireballs (not saying the remaster is bad)
The old one's fireballs were easy aswell though.
@@AVGyerra22 not on ps3
What a huge turtle, a took time to figure out how to kill it
Basaran disappoints me. After toppling it over, which is pretty funny, it's just a watered down version of Quadratus. It's the worst Quadratus boss, but the best Phaedra boss. Also, it has the same themes as Quadratus, which helps it a ton.
5:44
Passion blueberry 😂
I kinda hate how they changed his noises. I thought he sounded scarier in the old version.
This one and the Leo where the scariest imho
looks like a scarab from halo 2 and 3
Wow
1:06
Im confused. This game seems almost impossible to die from every video or stream ive seen of it. Sad that it so simple to kill these things pretty much figure out how to get on them, then hold on when they shake or go under water or turn upside etc… n stab specific points. Just seem to easy to be fun but maybe im wrong
And this Collosus just have one weak spot
Is awesome
I spent about an hour trying to find a way onto him in the place where he first comes out. Kept getting onto his belly fur but couldnt move... how on earth am I meant to realise I have to use the geysers... the voiceover pissed me off, "when the ground shakes so does the colossi" or w/e it says every bloody 30 seconds.
Well the off voice literally told you what to do every 30 seconds and you decided to ignore it for one hour.
@@Yvesman02 oh I dont remember it saying run to the geyser and let it hit him and he'll turn over. My mistake...
@@mattwilliams5142 Dormin always speaks in riddles so I don't know why you expected a straight and easy answer.
When I first played, back on the PS2, I had no internet, so I really did have to figure it all out myself. It took me about an hour running around the thing before it ACCIDENTALLY got itself caught on a geyser and I realised what I had to do, then it took me another two hours trying to get him to position himself on one again only to lead to one more failed attempt where I was too slow to climb on him properly after he tumbled over, I was literally grinding my teeth red faced and fuming at this battle 😂 I didn't even feel happy when I did eventually beat him, I just felt numb lmfao!
This was a serious pain in my ass tbh
Is it me or did they add more fog and shit which makes the geysers harder to see?
It's probably due to the improved graphics that the steam looks more blurry and hazy
Basarin why do you live in foggy home and cave
Large tortoise
Sounds a lot more like a giant turtle. Not a giganotosaurus like he originally sounded like
nobody knows what a giganotosaurus sounded like
SomeKindaSpy go check out his original roar. It sounds like a dinosaur
You didn't spell it "gigantosaurus". I applaud thee.
Sabrina Ambrosio well he is supposed to be a turtle.
Basaran sounded like me? Nah xD
THE HORSE IS SO FUCKING ANNOYING TO CONTOL. HOLY HELL DOES IT PISS ME OFF
Whoooa
I like turtles
Not this one
This one was annoying
Celosia: Hold my beer!
@@brendandulaca3147 I hate Celosia so much, least favorite imo.
Kurumori is more annoying to me.
I think basaren is female because she is a giant Galapagos turtle
Agroooooooooo
I hate this boss, particularly difficult to taunt to water and dodges the cannon
¿Shadow of the colossus está para PS3?
Sí.
Não sei cara
Esse remake é só para PS4 a versão do PS3 vem com ICO.
this game has the worst fucking horse controls ever made in a video game.
This game has the shittiest controls ever
Nah, you just suck is all.
@@matthewmicelli6674 yep
You didn't play alot of game than cause it was quite simple control. Especially when it's just move, climb, stab.
I agree. Just controlling your horse is a project
Fighting the camera angles is tougher than fighting the colossi.. lol
IMO worst boss fight in the entire game, and Time Attack requires a massive amount of luck.
And what the fuck is the point of making those water springs have a time-out??? Adds nothing to the gameplay, just adds to the frustration. Trying to make this lump of shit walk over the water jet is difficult as it is!
This boss epitomises why this game is so shit. Clunky controls, terrible camera, that fucking horse, stupid AI and an all round boring battle with zero payoff or satisfaction for completing.
Such an annoying and horribly designed fight
