If the ride is really going to be like that! I will be there day one! Omg what in the world! This sounds way better that Mario! I love Mario! Boom Coaster 🎉
Went to Universal + Islands of Adventure in February with my family, we spent two days hitting every single ride in both parks, and by the end we can ALL say that we had more fun there than at Disney. Hell, Universal is beating Disney at their own game, and if they aren't careful, they may even surpass them soon
Universal is the best when it comes to Orlando’s coasters imo so I have no doubt this is gonna be phenomenal! So excited for Nintendo and Epic Universe!!
Disney has been really shooting themselves in the foot lately with how much they're changing the guest experience at the parks. By the time Epic Universe opens I think it's gonna be top late for them to recover. Universal is blowing them out of the water and I say this as a massive Disney fan.
I was actually surprised how much by nephews (4 and 5) knew about Mario, Yoshi, Peach etc, I think a lot of people underestimate Nintendo, I mean they shouldn't, look at the sales of the Switch.
This is an impressive track layout with most elements from the game. This will be what the Mario Kart could have been, faithful to the game, sense of speed and thrill as well as use of physical props.
Mario Kart ride is just too slow but other than that it looked amazing to with the physical sets and animatronics and with the cool virtual reality headseat. It still remained faithful to the game. Would've just been better if it also had some rollercoaster track in it as well that way you can go fast and feel the speed.
I truly think Super Nintendo land is going to be a HUGE attractor to people similar to HP land was/is. If/when they start incorporating Pokemon it is just going to grow that desire even more and Universal maybe the destination of choice for even more people.
Yeah that was a BIIIIIGbrain move by Universal Studios to partner with Nintendo like that. Having Harry Potter, Jurassic Park and now Nintendo too... I know the mouse is sweating a little
@@madduxnagel6935 I mean they just increased prices, so can't be sweating to bad. But now that they also have a contract with Pokemon.. that is just another huge layer. They are definitely trying to appeal to larger audience than in the past and actually compete with Disney in its own space.
@@Bynbrooke Well yes I'm sure they're not really haha, Universal is always going to be fiending to get a fraction of what Disney gets from their parks. But I feel like now with these Nintendo additions (like Pokémon, as you mentioned, the highest grossing media franchise of all time), Universal might actually have a chance at making Disney at least consider some changes
Yea I am a bit bummed they are going with the newer Donkey Kong game aesthetics. Id love to see a big King K Rool animatronic, croc enemies were the best!
@@elpaka7654 Oh for sure and Rambi the Rhino is there too! We have to assume some of the originals will be there but it seems to be heavily themed around DK Tropical Freeze and DK Country Returns
Donkey Kong is getting so much attention in Epic Universe which is good to see hoping this confirms we are getting a new DK game on Switch would be great marketing for Nintendo.
the idea of having other carts coming right up to you and almost colliding only to then narrowly avoid it is an awesome idea. both the ride and area seem like they were really made with love.
A Donkey Kong mine cart ride with the false track technology was actually the exact same idea I had for a DK ride back when Super Nintendo World was first announced in 2015. I really wish I posted a comment of my idea back then because then I would’ve looked like a prophet lol.
Anyone else excited for all of the Banana themed foods we might be getting? Also typing that I've got to wonder if there will be any Minions hidden in the land trying to make off with DK's bananas...
Out of all the rides are coming to epic universe the donkey Kong coaster is the most I'm excited for guys and what's really cool about it is that it's going to be like Big thunder mountain and test track got together and they had a baby and this is the baby! 😊 I'm also glad epic universe will have all the 3 super Nintendo world rides guys!😊
This “jumping the tracks” ride system is actually GENUIS. It’s gonna be such an awesome coaster, this is the most I’ve been hyped for a ride in a long time!
3:48 I hope the Cranky Kong animatronic is an interactive one like Donkey from Shrek’s Swamp Meet, especially since Cranky is such a wise-cracker in the original games. Also King K. Rool should be a meet-able character in the parks.
Donkey is a puppet with a human controller and this one will just be an animatronic… but if the voice was a live person wise-cracking with guests in line it would be amazing!
The Nintendo stuff looks ridiculously fun. Big, bright, colorful. I’m imagining an immersive hotel experience for Zelda on par with the Star Wars hotel would be amazing.
These Nintendo lands are literally bottling the spirit of my childhood and turning it into a reality. All they are missing is a Zelda (Ocarina of Time) land, and a Metroid land for my childhood to be complete. Also, I better be able to purchase an official Donkey Kong tie after coming off this ride.
Donkey Kong Country was one of my first video game experiences. The music, the aesthetic, the gameplay, and even the awful "movie" that accompanied it, are branded into my brain forever. Moreso than a Mario-themed land, this looks like a dream come true. Islands of Adventure has been my favorite theme park for as long as I can remember, and knowing that this will be opening in my backyard alongside Mario and friends, plus the classic universal monsters I've grown to love, PLUS a brand new theme park from honestly my favorite chain in general...has me overwhelmed with joy and anticipation.
Epic Universe sounds so amazing. Disney is definitely going to start sweating after it opens. Adding tiny Coco, Encanto and Villains sections to magic kingdom is not enough to draw people away from how epic Epic universe is going to be.
I’m genuinely surprised for how much this ride will have. I was worried it was going to be to short but I appreciate the break down and I can’t wait to ride this!!! Will you be doing updates of other attractions at Epic Universe soon?
I will continue to update on every ride as we get more rumored details. Check out the Ministry of Magic attraction rumors for example. That ride has gone through multiple iterations, so I’ve got a video catching us up to now on the channel: ruclips.net/video/U1Z01tJaV3Q/видео.html
I really hope it's Ellie. Most of the art for the Donkey Kong area seems to focus more heavily on the most recent games, and I want to see more of the characters, landscapes, and features from the classic games back in the Rare era. If Ellie is back, then maybe we'll also get to see Engarde again at long last, or even Squitter!
We're theme park fans. We know the trick behind this jumping coaster. But can you imagine the thrill of the casual guest who has no idea what they're in for?
Donkey Kong is the only classic Nintendo franchise I have no attachment to, but I'm more excited for this ride than anything else in Super Nintendo Land (until they build Zelda)
I'm most excited just to walk around the Nintendo world, whenever I see the B-roll of the Japanese park, the theming is unreal, beats everything Islands of Adventure ever did. But I have to agree, DK the ride looks the most exciting.
I know this was all planned before Smash Ultimate, but it does feel a tad disappointing that K.Rool seemingly won’t be involved in the ride. Still, I love every thing I hear about this coaster. The minecart trickery is nothing short of genius. Hopefully maybe K.Rool and the Kremlings can have a presence elsewhere, even if just in merchandise.
I love that universal keeps making animatronics. People love them they just take alot maintenance and attention. And money to fix but of course we love them still.
The mine cart jumps can be pretty intense in the Donkey Kong attraction Unless the Universal Studios theme parks in the U.S. would bring Donkey Kong and Pokémon in their Super Nintendo World areas. Possibly other Nintendo franchises such as Star Fox, Metroid, F-Zero, Animal Crossing, Fire Emblem, Earthbound (Mother at Japan), Kid Icarus, and Super Smash Bros.
Even if they don't expand with a theme of any of the above mentioned franchises, just imagine all of the meet and greet characters that they could rotate, and themed restaurants or hot dog stands they can build in future expansions.
Really great video! You clearly invest a huge amount of time in making these! The ride itself though will have very low capacity - this will be a super headliner, so it will probably have insanely long waits.
I'm very curious about the waterfall over the temple. It was a part of the leaked model but in the recently released concept art it is absent. I hope it hasn't been cut from the land.
I was wondering about that too the fact that the water feature is still present in the new art is interesting though. Would be a shame if it was cut, as it was going to be a neat effect utilizing multiple layers of waterfalls behind and in front of the ride track to make it all feel connected.
0:26 I like how there’s artwork of Tiki Tong and a Mole Miner. It makes me wonder if we’ll see any Tiki Tak Tribe and Snowmad minions on the Mine Cart Ride?
I am very excited about the Super Nintendo World and the new Donkey Kong Mine Cart roller coaster. But what I am really happy about is the the use of the new Boom Coaster system for this ride. If Disney had any common sense they would consider getting John Hogg, inventor of the cantilevered roller coaster concept too perfect that system. Seeing how the Boom coaster is a more simplified version of the cantilevered coaster Disney may want to think about doing something like that seeing how Universal is leaving Disney behind and coming out with amazing rides and ride systems.
How fun would it be to have a Luigi’s Mansion ride?! A cute family friendly Animal Crossing coaster?! An F-Zero flight ride?! A Metroid Prime dark ride?! The possibilities for Nintendo properties are endless!
@King of The Zinger from what I understand a lot of places are moving away from VR on coasters I don't know about AR but I imagine that they're probably lumped together by the entertainment industry and I think that's one of the reasons why the Mario Kart ride is quote so slow is to compliment the AR besides the fact that also supposed to be a family-friendly ride
I hope Hollywood gets an attraction added that would be unique to its Nintendoland. No so much for exclusivity but I like the idea of having to travel to different parks for unique experiences. Also, I will dare to dream about anything revolving around Animal Crossing or Pikmin.
Super Nintendo World could also include the worlds of The Legend of Zelda, Metroid, Yoshi's Island, Kirby Super Star, Starfox, Pokemon, Earthbound, F-Zero, Fire Emblem, Kid Icarus, Metal Gear, Pikmin, Animal Crossing, PunchOut, Xenoblade Chronicles, Street Fighter, Final Fantasy, Splatoon and Castlevania.

The ride system and everything about the story is on another level, however 4 riders per train?? The operations on this thing must have to be crazy good
Sounds like it is a moving platform, so if it's fairly continuous, that ought to help with capacity. I'm betting the height requirements will be a bit higher than a kiddie coaster, with tighter restrictions for special riders to prevent too many e-stoppages.
I find it funny that universal has history with nintendo for sueing them about donkey kong being similar to king kong. Now here they are together making a donkey kong ride with a king kong ride just a drive away in orlando.

Easily. I know it isn't open yet, but I have yet to find anything I could criticize or disagree with their direction with. Maybe there will be some last minute budget cuts, but right now it seems like it is full steam ahead based on comparisons to the concept art and construction photos.
Seems like it will have nice thrill rides, and non thrill rides. All themed excellently aswell, I agree! It will go to both families, and thrill seekers!
I can't wait to say hi to DK and Diddy, maybe even Dixie and Candy! I haven't PLAYED the DK games exactly, BUT I have played PLENTY of other platformers (like Sonic) to know what to expect! I even wanna give DK a present - an IMPOSSIBLE Burger!

Seems like it will have nice thrill rides, and non thrill rides. All themed excellently aswell, I agree! It will go to both families, and thrill seekers!
I'm am excited 😆😄🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Now why couldn't this be Wario's Gold Mine?
Plus, wouldnt be surprised if a jump section is put right near the path to make the GP go crazy
I really wish this would come to Hollywood!
Dam that's soo cool it's like being in the actual video game
They better have funky kong here
So excited!
I expect a lot of banana themed snacks. But (while I wouldn’t drink it) they gotta have the coconut chill from the cartoon!
Thanks.
This was very informative, thanks!
I’m excited for this to open in Orlando.
Fairly off-topic, but really loving the new segment cards for this vid, Alicia. Paired with the background music & font, it was a massive nostalgia hit 😂😂
Also, fantastic news about 2 next-gen animatronics coming to the queue. The more animatronics the better
Super Nintendo Hollywood is so tiny on a hill in the middle of LA. Just like Disneyland Im surprise they are even making space for the Mario kart ride! At this point they are building up instead of spreading cause there’s just simply no space!
I need to ride this now!
It’s been confirmed by universal studios Summer 2022 is the earliest that they will open the park
I'm really excited for this attraction! One of my childhood favorites!!!
4:00 Cranky will be able to talk to individual guests? Well in THAT case, I'd say "Hi Crankster! How ya doin'? Jusy chillaxin'?'.
