My favorite is Donkey Kong Country 2, just a really big step up over the first DKC in many ways. Here's to hoping Universal Creative sticks in Stickerbush Symphony as one of the music tracks in the land!
Have so many good memories watching my brother play DKC 2 in our basement, and then later playing DK Returns and Tropical Freeze. It'll be exciting to see which games they take inspiration from and any references to others
I feel like the donkey kong ride is genius. I never thought about that part of the game being a roller coaster and now they are doing it and making it seem like it's jumping sounds amazing. I am so excited.
Universal is like, “Don’t worry guys, COVID isn’t going to stop our spare no expense lands and rides.” Meanwhile Disney is like, “Spaceship Earth Overhaul? Mary Poppins attraction? Avengers E-ticket? What are you guys talking about? We never announced that.”
To be fair, the companies are in *drastically* different situations. Most notably, Universal is linked to Comcast, whose services were not completely shut down by the pandemic. Meanwhile, Disney was only able to run Disney+. That said, I'm really not a fan of how the Bobs have run things. As... unreliable as Eisner was during the later part of his time as CEO, he at least created. The Bobs just acquire, and they play it so *irritatingly* safe that it actively irks me. There's a reason why Universal is the thing that spurs Disney to action, and not the other way around (We wouldn't have gotten Pandora, Galaxy's Edge, or even Cars Land if Harry Potter didn't happen, and my mind *will not* be changed on this matter).
@@gladiatordragon9219 Disney was still selling a shit ton of merchandise last year and most of their parks did reopened(Merchandise and the parks are their real money-makers). Plus, Comcast isn’t fully available around the country. Chapek is just being cheap.
I think the Dk Rap will be in the gift shop, we have the Mario Maker theme in the 1-Up factory so I'm sure the DK rap WILL happen 😌 what I'd love to see is a Luigi's Mansion ride either the hotel inspired by Disney's Tower of Terror or an actual Mansion from the original GameCube or both
Now this is seriously exciting to see, especially the Mine Cart coaster! Kind of makes me wonder what other lands they might have in mind for it to be a full-on Nintendo Land. For example, areas/rides themed to _The Legend of Zelda, Kirby_ (I could see them using aspects from the Japanese Kirby Cafes for that), _Pokémon, F-Zero_ or _Metroid_ would be truly amazing!
If they want to really appeal to people, they could add the green train from Mother 3. Just to have it. Edit:. If they really wanted to double down, they could add a regular train, play the themes for each train in their respective train, and make the green one cost slightly more.
Y'know, since its called SUPER Nintendo World, what if we were to design a park themed specifically to the greatest hits of the SNES? Then we'd have a Zelda land based on A Link to the Past. StarFox would fit the role of the sci-fi Tomorrowland area. If I'm being honest, the Mario Kart ride was a bit of a let down, but the Donkey Kong coaster I have no doubts about. If it's one thing Universal does well it's coasters!

@@cartoonandgamefanatic2.019 100% agree with this! The advertising set expectations that were just so far off from what we got, much like the advertisement for the fast and furious attraction
If they're going to already open with Donkey Kong in Orlando, I wonder if they'll expand the land later on and bring in Zelda, like the original plans.
I could see Lost Continent get retheme to Zelda. That area looks great but the Sinbad theatre is setting empty and Poseidon’s Fury (the only attraction) feels very dated and weak compared to the rest of the parks line up. The bazaar area could easily become a Gerudo desert village or Hyrule village with the castle or something to go with desert where Sinbad theatre is, and PF show building could be turned into a temple themed building for a dark ride. I’d add Kirby or something else with a similar cartoon-sequel asthetic to the Mario/DK land
I'm surprised Donkey Kong will be in the parks before Zelda or Pokemon (since they are more popular). Maybe they thought the DK ride was better than their other ideas. Still hoping for Zelda!
Nintendo only has 32% ownership over Pokemon, so designing a park with that IP will run into a lot of legal issues that have to be untangled with contracts between all the owners. As for Dk, they've been planning the DK ride for years, I'm sure it was an easy choice when someone sold them on the patented technology. Zelda will surely get a nod in a few years.
