Hi! Thanks a lot for the tips, it worked for me and my girlfriend today! (May 10th 2023). I'd like to share my experience since it was slightly different, in case it can help others! I will also post this comment on your other (shorter) video, hope this is ok! 1) a bit of context about our trip, since it is important for the following: it was planned last minute to have affordable flight tickets (long story short), so I bought the entry tickets for the park a bit more than two weeks before the selected date. We chose a Wednesday, just after the Golden Week so we got the lowest price for the entry ticket (8600¥). At that point, there were still some express passes available for that day starting from about 14000¥, but we decided not to take them. 2) I was able to register our entry tickets the day before in my hotel (I tested right when I bought them without success, but not since then so not sure when it starts). The day we visited, the official opening hour was 9:30. For some unrelated reasons, we were staying in Nagoya, about 1h45 from the park. It was physically impossible for us to get to the park before 8am (unless we took the first nozomi shinkansen, but it is not included in the JR pass so it would have cost us about 6500¥ per person to arrive at 7:44). Hence we arrived at the earliest possible time, 8:01, which I thought should be ok. When we got there, there was already quite a lot of people, but nothing really scary, we were just past the tickets boothsq. However I noticed there was a separate queue for people with early access tickets (that you can get essentially by staying in a hotel affiliated with the park). I got a bit scared since I thought they might finally have decided that early access should only be for these people (which in a way would make sense). At 8:30, they opened the gates for people with an early access ticket. At 8h45, to my great relief, they opened the gates for us. We then rushed for Nintendo World, got there by 9am and could enter without any problem. They started asking for area timed tickets from 10am, so there was a good time window. By the way, please do not run. First it is forbidden and staff will stop you if they see you (but they cannot check everybody). Second, it is not necessary, there is plenty of time (+ as I'll tell later there is a good chance you can get an area ticket anyway). Third, it is actually dangerous: there are a lot of people, among them a lot of kids and we actually saw a young boy getting bumped by two guys that did not even look back. So walk fast, sure, but do not run. You're just wasting your energy and bothering everybody, in the worst case it could even impact the park rules, as Japanese tend to do sometimes (e.g. the sgaff pf super potato in Akihabara is a lot less friendly with foreigners now, because of the behaviors of some disrespectful people). So, I'm not sure if this is a new way of doing this, or if arriving at 7:30 allows you to enter the early access queue without a ticket, but if you arrive 1 hour and a half before the opening, it should be fine anyway, you just won't be the first people in the park. All this being said, it was one of the least crowded day so I would arrive earlier than we did on a more busy day. 3) about the area entry tickets, they do not run out of stock as fast as I thought (on a not crowded day). At 10am, I checked and could have secured an area ticket for 10am without any problem. I checked again at about 13:30 while queuing and could reserve a ticket for several time windows from 14:00 to 15:00. So in case you cannot enter, it should still be fine to get in, I was not looking frantically and git lots of opportunities. Since once you leave the area you cannot reenter without ticket, it is possible if you enter before the restruction to save a ticket for later,in case you leave and realize you forgot something. Note that you can only reserve one area ticket per day, so it works only once. Yet, I would advise not doing so as this might prevent someone who never got in to have this chance, so be mindful and try to leave only when you're sure (or take a very late entry, just for shopping for example). To give you an idea of the time it takes, we were in Nintendo from 9am to 5pm, taking our time, doing both rides twice, eating at the restaurant and doing eveything else, including photos with Mario & cie, we left deeply satisfied and still got 2h to try the rest of the park (closing time was 7pm). 4) About the rides: once inside, we went for a power-up band (for those interested, they released a limited edition Gold Mario band on March 2023 for the second anniversary of Nintendo World, as of May 10th 2023, they are still available but are not doing anything more than the regular bands, as far as I know). Then we rushed for Mario Kart and were allowed (actually asked) to take the fast access lane since they were not checking yet for express pass so we got the ride really fast. Being together in the ride only makes sense if you are 3 or 4 for the team score, so I would advise to use the single rider lane for a second, or a third ride, it really speeds up things (but you miss the nice items displayed on the regular lane). Also, make sure you press the power band several time on the kart to be sure it connects. Since it is not super clear when and if it did it properly, my girlfriend was actually not connected on her first ride although she seemed to do it correctly. In general, although it works pretty well most of the time, the band is sometimes not recognised and it gets frustrating when it happens in Mario Kart since you don't receive the coins etc (for the other interactions in the park, you can simply try again or ask nicely the staff, they are super super friendly, even more if you can speak japanese but don'tbe afraid if you don't). Then we went for Yoshi, the waiting time was said to be 40 minutes but we only waited for 20 minutes or so. The same happened the second time we did it as well. In general, it seems that Mario Kart is more crowded than Yoshi, especially since the waiting time seems overestimated. For the restaurant (Kinopio cafe), it might be a good idea to get there early. We went at 10:50, received a ticket to come back between 11:15 and 11:30, went back at 11:15, ordered at 11:30 and started eating at 11:50. It might take more time if you go later, but i have the feeling their ticketing system works well. For the other food shops, the queue never seemed to long (maybe for the popcorns but we didn't take them). If you're in a rush, I woukd suggest the koopa shell calzone at the Yoshi cafe, it's fast, "cheap", tasty and fills the belly enough. The little games involving the power band have little queues but it never takes more than a few minutes to get to play them and they are quite entertaining (some more than others). Finally, for the photos, if you really want to do them, I'd suggest to do Mario and Luigi either directly when you get there in the morning or when you see that some people leave the queue when they do a break. Otherwise, it can take easily 40 minutes. Peach takes 10-15 minutes and Toad (Kinopio) is in "free access", you just need to wave at him and call him. 5) as I said, we didn't see much of the rest of the park since it was not our main goal, but I still have some insights because it is actually a pretty great ressort besides Nintendo: the Harry Potter part is really cool, the Forbidden Journey is amazing, and the Hyppogriff ride is quite cool for a "soft" roller coaster (but is not worth 75 minutes of queuing). We wanted to do the Minions ride, but we couldn't due to bad judgment: we tought (and the queing times on the app conforted us) that the Harry Potter rides would be more crowded than the Minions, and it was closer to Nintendo so we went there first. What actually happened is that the times in HP halved, while the Minions doubled. At 6pm, the Minion was 55 minutes (and we arrived to late, they closed at 18:05), while Forbidden Journey dropped to 15 minutes, and Hyppogriff to 25 (which is much more reasonable for this ride). They were even allowing access to Forbidden journey at 18:50 when we got off the Hippogriff. So, can't be 100% sure it is a constant but keep this in mind. Also, it seems that if you have an express pass you can still enter if the ride is closed, I saw some people enter the Minions that way after we were turned down. Also, if staff see you rushing towards the ride as they are closing, there is a good chance they will let you in if you ask nicely (but onge it's closed, it's closed). Here it is, sorry for the very long message, hope it helps anyone!
Thank you so much for your time to share your experiences with us. This is so helpful! I bought the express ticket from Klook, because we couldn't select the time slot, the sign time is 5p.m.,so I hope we will get there early before the reservation time starts.
3800 yen for power band = less than $30 USD. The bands at Universal Studios Hollywood are $40, so this makes it feel like a bargain! Thanks for this video
I would like to thank you because thanks to your advice, we also managed to enter the park earlier than the official opening time. That allowed us to visit Super Nintendo World, that we really wanted to see, without Area Entry Timed 🙏🏼
I picked up an Express pass (even though I'll be visiting during the 'slow' season), and it actually already included timed entry for both Nintendo and Potter, and specific time frames for most of the included rides. Just something to mention for folks who might be considering that route.
OMG thank you for the tips and explanations! I am so confused with the different types of passes and I'm afraid I might purchase something I don't need. So glad I found your video!
finally some good tips, the ticketing system feels really confusing! will grab the normal weekday entry ticket and will get a cab/metro to be there around 7 (no kids). We already noticed that the normal tickets arn't sold out for most days!
Finally a useful and informative video! Everytime I searched I only found videos of people already enjoying the visit but no explanation of how to purchase and entry timed tickets. Thanks you!
Thank you so much Heidi! This was so helpful and clear. Took your advice and was able to get into Nintendo world at the start of the day with no times ticket. Really appreciate the clear explanations xx
Thank you so much for sharing this! We are headed to USH in March and I was trying to find someone who was explaining the timed entry process! Now my brain is wrapping around it. Glad you had fun! I too am an advocate of arriving early! It's such a game changer!
Thanks so much for your tips, we got to give our son the best experience at Super Nintendo World this week for his 10th birthday without needing area bookings or express passes!
Thank you for this video, I'm worried that I might not be able to make the most of my time because there are some things here and there, but this helps me what to do prior. And maybe I need to wait until at least 1-month before D-day to let them update to the latest event schedules so I can plan what shows or street performance I'll go to see, which will also update my entire schedules for riding attractions, and shopping.
Thank you so much for creating this video! This is a very much-needed information for me as a first timer. I was confused with all the App terms and purposes behind it. Now its crystal clear! Moreover, I was very sad that I missed the date to purchase Express Pass (its sold out super fast!). Now I have a B plan to wake up early and run to USJ lol! Anyway, once again. Thank you !
Oh wow! These tips are going to save our lives when we go to USJ later this year. We're Potter heads but it looks like other areas are fun too so maybe we'll come back for 2 days.
OMG!!!!!! the 8am entry and RUN to mario world is making me nervous now! hehehe.. THANK YOU for all the advice.. really helpful for my trip this summer..
Thank you for your tips.. Went to USJ on a Monday 3rd July 23 and started queuing at 7.25am.. apparently they now have an “early pass” pass for the hotel guests around the park so they were given priority to enter at 8am.. for us who just have the normal tickets we’re able to enter early at 8.15am.. overall, it all worked out and did most of the stuff at Super Nintendo World! Thanks again!
Thank you, thank you ❤ I live in Japan, but I have never been in USJ, I'm taking my girls in April, and I've been doing some reach, and sincerely I loved your review. Easy, friendly and nice, thanks 👍✨
@@KenshoQuest we'll try! And your video really helped us decide. Removed a lot of ambiguity in what I found in other places. We have one day in July where it'll fit so wish us luck! Thanks!
I was getting so disappointed before watching your video. Thanks a much for the useful tips. I'm visiting Osaka in a couple of weeks and noticed that the most tickets were gone on Klook. Will have to visit on a different day and will now book a day studio pass and try to experience the Super Nintendo World using your tips. Much appreciated !
Thanks for your great video, I booked tickets using your link. Also when you book through Klook they give you the option to book a bus ride to the park too, picking you up from central Osaka somewhere.
The video is very informative, you mentioned that you recommend to leave an hour early so we can eat outside the park? My question is dont they have like fireworks show during closing like in Disneyland? I just don't want us to miss anything 😊
Hi, Leaving early worked well for us, since we have young kids. The Christmas tree performance was still happening when we left. I'm not sure, but I don't think there are fireworks other than on major holidays. The Night Parade is currently out of service. You can double check the show schedule on the USJ website: www.usj.co.jp/web/en/us/attractions/show-and-attraction-schedule
hey there, just a update, did USJ early april and it went pretty well. was pretty busy since it was the last week of spring break, the doraemon ride we wanted to go to hit something like upwards of 4 hours lol. however did the single rider queue and managed to get on in 40 mins got into super Nintendo world around 9:30am, went around 2 hours before the the official publish opening time, ended up opening around 1.5 hours earlier. actually didn't know about the reserved ride tickets. as i've already been to the park back in 2019, we didn't do every ride,
@@KenshoQuest Yes in march , im sorry to bother but please help me again , i can not find a ticket now PLUS some tickets says 1Day studio pass A 1Day studio pass B / C 1.5 day studio pass A (2023) And some say entry studio pass Im really confused 😭 cries* Which to pick! For one day only to see harry potter & Mario & anime land I will so sooo appreciate it if u explained to me thank u thank u and sorry for making it long 🤍🤍🙏🏽🙏🏽
@@blacky3911 Hi! On Klook the first step is to click "Check Availability" and select a date on the calendar. Once you do that it will narrow down the options. You want just a "1 Day Studio Pass" for a 1 day ticket. 1.5 is for one and a half days. If you want to compare different days, be sure to "clear all" before selecting a different date on the calendar. 🌺Heidi
I didn’t do anything but install & hope for the best lol- & after 3/4 pages of Japanese then voila! It turned into English 😂….thanks for the info, we’re excited to go!!
Thank you so much! I also kept getting the red digits of death on my QR Code when trying to register my pass and i starter panicking lmao Seriously thank you so much.
It's best to wait until after 5am the day after purchasing your tickets to scan the QR code with the USJ app. It takes a bit for the passes to process. Here are my latest tips on visiting USJ and Super Nintendo World: ruclips.net/video/TQ7-nILdzeU/видео.html
i see they updated their website with this warning : "Warning: Resale of tickets is strictly prohibited. Resale ticket are not accepted in the Park. QR codes on tickets dated Sunday, November 1, 2015 or later that have been purchased from resellers through places such as ticket agency sites or online auctioning sites will be nullified." are these travel agencies, like Klook, no longer valid?
That warning is regarding buying and re-selling tickets, also know as "scalping". You still can purchase tickets through an authorized travel agency. They are listed on the USJ website and include Klook. www.usj.co.jp/web/en/us/travel
Thank you for the informative video! I noticed that on the USJ calendar opening hours for somedays already say 8am, according to your advice, should I line up earlier/do they open earlier than 8am? I'd like to go to SNW w/ out requiring timed entry.
Yes. Opening times vary. I recommend getting in line 90 minutes before opening time, which would be 6:30am. That’s super early! Might work if you can stay near USJ the night before.
Yes. Once you scan the Klook entrance tickets (that you linked to the app), you will be able to use features of the USJ app such as scheduling an area timed entry. I showed everything step by step in my most recent USJ video: ruclips.net/video/TQ7-nILdzeU/видео.htmlsi=s2U0jgdcVqraDWY4
Thank so you much for making this video. The official website make it's so confusing to understand how to buy tickets and get into USJ Super Nintendo World.
Thanks for the content. Are you able to scan/associate multiple power up bands to one phone? For example, one adult with a phone scans two power up bands, one for the adult and one for a child who does not have a phone?
Thanks for the tips! As a Malaysian I am ashamed that you have an annual pass to Legoland and I haven't not ever visited it myself. Will do so one day :P
It’s worth visiting Legoland Malaysia! It’s empty compared to USJ, which makes it more pleasant to visit. Almost no lines waiting for the rides. 🌺 Heidi
Hey thank you so much for this helpful video! 2 quick questions: What's the difference between a studio pass and an express pass? And if I buy the entry tickets, would I need to buy one of these passes or would the entry ticket be enough?
Hi! The “Studio Pass” is the entry ticket. That’s just what they call it. An “Express Pass” is an additional optional purchase that allows you to get on rides faster, and may also include an Area Timed Entry. 🌺✈️ Heidi
Good evening. I’m from Brazil, and I’m going to Japan with my family next march. I’m watching all your videos on RUclips. They’re very good and I’m learning a lot. Can I ask you a question? When I buy my universal studios pass + fast pass, can I set the entry time for the areas and the attractions for the same time for all the family? (2 adults + 2 kids)??? Thank you so much!!!
Hi. Since you are traveling as a family, it is best to purchase all of your Express Passes together at the same time. If you purchase through Klook, they will randomly assign time slots. If you would rather choose your times, and make sure they are all the same, I recommend purchasing the Express Passes directly through the USJ website: www.usj.co.jp/web/en/us/tickets/express-pass#HowtoBuy The Studio Passes can be purchased separately through either website. 🌺 Heidi
Ok. Thank you so much. Very helpful!! But I still didn’t understand one thing: can I determine the time for the areas and attractions as soon as I buy the express passes? Or can I only do that once I’m inside the park?
If you buy Express Passes directly from USJ, you can choose the times for the areas and attractions when you are purchasing the passes. If you buy Express Passes from Klook, the times will be written on the voucher that Klook emails to you. Does that make sense?@@RobertoDemant-wd1fd
I would like to ask if it’s possible to visit both Super Nintendo world and Harry Potter . I’m a huge potter head and also I don’t want to miss Super Nintendo world .. I planned on visiting in the November. Hoping it would be less crowded . Can you please suggest anything? I don’t wanna miss out on any
Yes, it’s possible to visit both on the same day. SNW is more difficult to get into, so I recommend either going there first or securing an Area Timed Entry for SNW. Then when you have some free time, stop by Harry Potter. Both days that we visited USJ they did not restrict access and require Area Timed Entry for HP. We showed visiting both in our most recent USJ video: ruclips.net/video/TQ7-nILdzeU/видео.htmlsi=ZHqIFlzhtUKFv3H-
Great video!! Thank you! You answered all my questions! You did a great job explaining everything!! 😁 What type or where did it guys get your pocket WiFi?? I need one as well! I’m going in August! All by my self! I think I need one! Thank you again!
Can you give advice for special entry tickets and if there is a specific section we are suppose to stand? Also do you have suggestions where to get a pocket wifi?
Hi. What exactly do you meany by "special entry tickets"? If you buy "Early Entry" tickets, there is a special line at the far left. For pocket WiFi we recommend Sakura Mobile. Here's our affiliate link: www.sakuramobile.jp/joji808-top And here's my latest video with tips for visiting SNW: ruclips.net/video/TQ7-nILdzeU/видео.html
hi i have 3 year old with me, is that ok for them for ride everything im mario too?.or they just could go and play in the younger area that u mention?.thank u so much for your video helps a lot
For Yoshi’s Adventure, riders must be at least 92cm tall, if accompanied by an adult. For Mario Kart, riders must be at least 107cm tall, if accompanied by an adult. Your 3 year old probably isn’t tall enough for that one.
To purchase tickets on Klook, start by selecting a date on the availability calendar. That will narrow the types of tickets. kenshoquest.com/recommends/usj-studio-pass/ 💖 We appreciate the commissions we earn when you purchase through our affiliate links!
Hi i hope you can notice my message. Theres this option special entry where in you get to enter 15 mins earlier. Do you think this is worth it? Thank you for you very informative video
@@lindsyhuawei6812 For us, it worked well enough showing up before 8am. That way we entered an hour before the park technically opens at 9am. We did see a few people already riding on rides while we waited to enter.
@@mourik-janschoemaker8076 The various tickets (A, B, C, D) are for different dates. if you start by selecting a date on the availability calendar, it will narrow down the options and show only the tickets available for that date. Hi! Attraction timed entry tickets are usually available for the busiest rides. I tried searching, but couldn’t find specifically if Doraemon is included. Based on the current wait time of 200 minutes, it probably is! On the day of your ticket, you can see which rides are included within the USJ app. 🌺 Heidi
When we went this past summer we entered USJ before opening time. We haven’t been any more recently than that. Here’s our more recent video about USJ: ruclips.net/video/TQ7-nILdzeU/видео.htmlsi=DMhWBP5v6MpelzPN
Great tips Kensho! I am taking my family to USJ late May. Still unsure if to make a run towards SMW and try to get in, or run towards the timed entry area booth and get a timed entry ticket. Any tips there?
Hi! If you enter the park before technical opening time, I would run straight to SNW. Timed entry won’t be implemented yet. Do you have a smart phone that you can use to install the USJ app? If you do, you can use that to book timed entry tickets, instead of using a booth. 🌺 Heidi
Hi, If you buy an Express Pass for USJ through Klook, the time slot will be shown on the voucher they email to you. If you want to choose a specific time slot, it's best to purchase the Express Pass from the USJ website: www.usjticketing.com/expressPass
@@KenshoQuest I see in klook the express pass allow you to skip the queue for either the yoshi adventure or Mario kart ride but are you allowed to enter super mario world any time you like or is there also a set time you can enter?
Thanks for the amazing tips. Regarding "Child Switch", do you know if a couple parents with a toddler can line up in Single Rider Line and use the "Child Switch" coupon?
Child Switch is meant for one parent to be able to ride twice in a row with two different children. So one child would ride with Parent A, while the other child waits in the child switch section with Parent B. Parent A would then ride a second time with their other child. I’m not sure what you are asking.
Hi, we are going USJ in June. They have 1 Day Pass A-D. Which one should I buy? And do I really need to buy express passes to enter Super Mario, Harry Potter, and other Area Timed attractions. I read at USJ that express pass is needed for those Area Timed attractions? You said on your video that u didn't pay express pass. Thank you, by the way, for this video. Very informative.
Hi! If you are purchasing tickets on Klook, start by selecting a date on the availability calendar. That will narrow down which type of ticket is available for that day (A-D). We did not purchase Express Passes. We were able to enter Super Nintendo World before they started implementing Area Timed Entry Restrictions. We didn’t visit Harry Potter, but the day we were there it was a bit later in the day that they implemented Area Timed Entry for Harry Potter. It just depends how crowded it is. You can use the USJ app on your phone to reserve an Area Timed Entry into Harry Potter. It’s up to you if you feel better purchasing Express Passes to guarantee entry into SNW or HP. For us, that extra expense was not necessary. 🌺 Heidi
Just came across your video and it’s so informative! Thank you! During the early entry window to the park and dash to SNW or HP at 8am, are you able to get on the attractions at either area without time designated tickets or is it just entry to the areas?
Yes, we also went straight onto the rides. Just visited again on Tuesday and it worked getting in line at 7:30am and speed walking straight into SNW. And getting right in the line for Mario Kart. They did implement Area Timed Entry for SNW about 15 minutes after we entered. So as the summer progresses and it gets more crowded, arriving even earlier might be a good idea.
Hi! Thanks a lot for the tips, it worked for me and my girlfriend today! (May 10th 2023).
I'd like to share my experience since it was slightly different, in case it can help others! I will also post this comment on your other (shorter) video, hope this is ok!

I checked again at about 13:30 while queuing and could reserve a ticket for several time windows from 14:00 to 15:00.

Thanks for the detailed account of your experience!
this is very helpful. Thank you!
Very helpful, going tomorrow. This helps
Thanks for sharing your experience! So helpful to me planning my trip for my family!
Yay! 🎉 So glad it worked for you! Thanks for letting us know. 🌺 Heidi
I picked up an Express pass (even though I'll be visiting during the 'slow' season), and it actually already included timed entry for both Nintendo and Potter, and specific time frames for most of the included rides. Just something to mention for folks who might be considering that route.
Thanks for sharing.
Do you know exactly when they release the express pass tickets? They are all sold out over 2 months in advance!

🌺Heidi
I just install the usj app on my iPhone 13- it was only in Japanese for the first few pages but it actually in English 😂

Very helpful video. Thank you! Just to make sure: so after you scan the Klook entrance tickets, you are able to use the USJ app. Is that correct?
Yes. Once you scan the Klook entrance tickets (that you linked to the app), you will be able to use features of the USJ app such as scheduling an area timed entry. I showed everything step by step in my most recent USJ video:

For Yoshi’s Adventure, riders must be at least 92cm tall, if accompanied by an adult. For Mario Kart, riders must be at least 107cm tall, if accompanied by an adult. Your 3 year old probably isn’t tall enough for that one.

Hi, Very good and detailed video. I liked it. So, Can bring snacks to the park or not? Did you eat at all inside the park? Thanks
I thinks snacks are allowed to be brought into the park for children only. People were allowed to bring water in.
What kind of rides can you get timed entry for? Would that include the latest Doraemon ride?
Hi! Attraction timed entry tickets are usually available for the busiest rides. I tried searching, but couldn’t find specifically if Doraemon is included. Based on the current wait time of 200 minutes, it probably is! On the day of your ticket, you can see which rides are included within the USJ app. 🌺 Heidi

You're welcome!
🌺 Heidi
For universal studio express pass.
How do you know what time you're suppose to enter for the ride?
Hi, If you buy an Express Pass for USJ through Klook, the time slot will be shown on the voucher they email to you. If you want to choose a specific time slot, it's best to purchase the Express Pass from the USJ website: www.usjticketing.com/expressPass
@@KenshoQuest I see in klook the express pass allow you to skip the queue for either the yoshi adventure or Mario kart ride but are you allowed to enter super mario world any time you like or is there also a set time you can enter?
@@babypooful The Express Pass will also give you a specific Area Timed Entry Ticket time slot to enter Super Nintendo World.
🌺 Heidi
@Kensho Quest thank you so much for your reply. I really appreciate it.
