    The Cohen’s of the world need to understand that a tip is a commission it is 15-20% of a final Bill of “Sale”. It is akin to the way a Car Saleswoman earns a commission she receives on the final bill of Sale given to a customer.
    The owner of the car dealership pays the window washers, janitors, mechanics, body shop, etc-that “back of the house”

    Back of the house payment comes out of the Owner’s pocket.... NOT his Sales-team!
    Stealing the commission it tips from the waiter, bartender, barback busser and runner-- the Sales-team in a restaurant and giving it to the janitor, dishwasher, line cook, chef is a shameful act. In the USA TIPs for a DINER waitress is her commission based income --
    That is her paycheck- her paycheck doesn’t create racism or harrassment-don’t blame her paycheck.
    She sells food and drinks and tries to create return clientele- her commission based paycheck is incentive to sell.
    Shame on you Amanda for not recognizing this!
    If you want your kitchen staff to make more money then open up you pocket and PAY them More money..
    The disparity between what money the kitchen staff, janitors and porters make compared to the sales team is a disparity YOU created.
    Don’t Covet your neighbor’s goods Amanda!
    Let the Diner waitress who us a salesperson make her Commission based paycheck and keep her earned tips.
    And PAY everyone else who works for you out if your OWN pocket.
    You lie only to yourself-a commission based job isn’t wrapped in sexism or racism- just like an hourly wage or salary based job isn’t wrapped in sexism or racism--these are behaviors- only change in behavior will end them--
    The tip is not the problem... ignorance of what a commission based paycheck is and the courage to rightfully pay the rest of your staff out of YOUR OWN Pocket!
