lol, having been in the field. This is a pretty good representation, lol at notes & schedule conflict. Jessie is also a good representative of the type of personality pt people have.
I’ve always wanted to become a Physical Therapist since I was in 8th grade. Now I’m becoming a senior in high school this August. This is still what I want to do it’s just me thinking about what path I’m going to take to become a PT.
Well u should take kinesiology/exercise science anything that deals with it because not all schools offers PT as a bachelor unless you want to be an assistant which u could get at a community college
Hi, I'm really really interested in becoming a physical therapist! I just wanted to say thank you for this very informative video, it really gave me and I'm sure many other viewers who are curious about the field an inside look into physical therapy! I was wondering what the main difference between physical therapy and athletic training was. I really want to become a physical therapist, but I also have a passion for kinesiology.
Thank you for enjoying the video! We are glad you appreciated it! And, to answer your question, the main difference between physical therapy vs. athletic training comes down to a few things. With athletic training, your main patient population is the athletes that you treat. You learn acute management strategies in addition to rehab principles to keep your players healthy throughout the season. The treatment environment is an even split between the field and the athletic training room. On the physical therapy side of things, you get deep into rehab principles and your patient population spans from pediatrics to elderly. You have options to explore different settings from an outpatient clinic to a hospital, to a more gym-based facility, and so on. Typically, your hours as a PT are pretty straight forward. With athletic training, your hours can change depending on the needs of the team; typically, in fact, you are traveling with the team. Both are really great professions. You can also gather more info on the APTA and NATA websites. THANK YOU!
Physical therapist has a more concentration of getting patients back to activities from different perspectives, like musculoskeletal, cardiac and neuro. Athletic training has a wider range of working environments, like with professional teams, with sports medicine teams in hospitals, industries and schools. most of the times, the work is around a specific group of people like workers and athletes and it involves components like performance, emergency action, nutrition, general medical condition etc. There's a lot of overlap, but one big difference is PTs can bill while ATs can't. Hope it was helpful!
This is a really great video! Happy to see pelvic health PTs be highlighted as well. I also like the appreciation for the techs and front desk. Woot woot!
oml her favorite part is making PT notes @-@ thats like the most notorious thing that makes PT students faint. I'm a 2nd yr PT student btw. OSPEs and other clinical exams are terrifying, but if you're passionate about it like her, you're gonna enjoy it. Goodluck to the future PTs and DPTs!
I am a 16 year old female currently with pelvic pain and have an upcoming gyn appointment but I love that your job is dedicated to the pelvis, I love the women empowerment, I love how your work with your patients not only them exercising and I am really interested in this job as my future career. I love everything about this whole video thank you for educating me.🥰❤️
I love this work environment. I have a question, in the future will other physical therapy places look like this? The clean gym and modern environment is perfect for me, I'm not really into the clinic setting.
I just got my biomedical undergrad at york and now im super interested in becoming a physiotherapist!!! Will be researching more about the field. Would you be able to tell me any positions i could enter in (thats related to physiotherapy) to get into the field with my bachelor of biology?
Hi I am interested in this career and just wanted to thank you for this informational video! It really gave me a feel for what becoming a physical therapist would be like!
I honestly think that this is a job that I’d like to do but I don’t really like science and it’s really boring to study . I barely have any motivation but I see myself being a Pt. It seems like a job that I’d like to do beside working at a desk
I remember recently there was a scary lady with wavy black hair who was wearing hospital scrubs who came up and punched me in the nose really hard (leaving me disfigured with breathing problems and sleep apnea) and then instead of saying she’s sorry she pulled out a knife and started screaming about killing me because I ruined her life. I don’t know who she was but I think she said her name is Mary or something like that.
I am looking at physio therapy and whether I should do it as a job, what GCSE's do you need and is it better to be a private therapist or work in a clinic?
Hi there! Since we are located in the United States we are not so knowledgeable on GCSEs, but we encourage you to speak to your city/country's schools for more specific information!
Hi! I am interested in becoming a physical therapist. After watching this video I have questions about a current issue in my life and I was wondering if there is someone I can get in contact with to discuss the issue. I am a 26 year old woman living a healthy lifestyle and after many doctors opinions and no relief, this video has led me to think physical therapy might be the answer. Please let me know if this is something you are willing to discuss with me. Thank you!
Sir I am from India studying bachelor of physical therapy in 3 nd year . so for master of physical therapy which is the best universities in USA , what exam I have to give and what is the procedure for addmission and how can I get scholarship ??
Hi ! My names Maddie. I’m an exercise science major at the University of Houston. I have to do a report on a physical therapist for my kinesiology class. Would you mind helping me out ? I’ve reached out to a couple of PTs but have gotten no luck. I’d really appreciate it if you could get back with me regarding this. Thank you!
Physical therapists graduate with a doctorate so yes they are ‘doctors’ and yes they use stethoscopes. I am a 3rd year PT student btw and soon to be a graduate in 5 months :).
I’m ready to do this as a career 💪
Go for it!

Physical therapists graduate with a doctorate so yes they are ‘doctors’ and yes they use stethoscopes. I am a 3rd year PT student btw and soon to be a graduate in 5 months :).
PTs can use the prefix Dr after graduating DPT but most of them avoid so, because people confuse them with MD.
