The game goes from Noir Mystery to Blockbuster Action Movie to Supernatural Thriller until becoming Dragon Ball Z. All with a dose of strange conspiratorial rambling. This game is a guilty pleasure of mine, a glorious trainwreck. The beginning is legitimately very strong largely due to how it creates a high stakes and tense scenario right away, with a lot of variance and attention to detail, and then it flips it around by having you play as the "opposition" and investigate the very crime scene you tried to cover up. One of my favorite opening sections to any game. As the game continues though, the flaws become more and more apparent. It does pretty well with its more mundane situations, because there's always this feeling of everything falling apart for Lucas, especially since you're also playing as the detectives who are tracking him down. However, the game also wants to capture the highs of that opening, presenting rather absurd scenarios that just get more and more insane. Eventually, it gets so insane it turns around and becomes a "so bad it's good" kind of experience. It's heavily flawed, but also very enjoyable.
It's like Condemned 2. Starts off as "why are all the homeless people becoming psychotic and violent" and literally ends with your character making someone's head explode by screaming while standing on top of a skyscraper made of scrap metal.
@@jays.6843Damn I've never seen anyone mention condemned 2 before. Used to play it all the time as a kid. I remember the mood of the opening crime scene being amazing. Then later on in the game you're chased by a bear or something haha

The temporal whiplash of him mentioning references that I thought were from last year while sounding 10 years younger, what do you mean 2019 was 5 years ago
David Cage has long since ascended past the paltry title of “director.” Two and a half hours into this video it’s clear to me that he’s a “Commander” of the fusion of film and game.
Tysm for this Librarian, this was the one game I didn't get to see him play from the "David Cage Collection tm" since it wasn't uploaded to RUclips. Finally, after all these years, I have them all.
We're David Cage guys, of course we pog when the story goes off the rails. It's so funny that David Cage calls "game over" screens a failure of game design, yet many of his games have them (they just don't say "game over").
I like the post-credits "Sorry to my son whom I didn't see for weeks working on this, won't happen again" and immediately digging into the goofy dance animation extras and entire striptease scene with modeled full-frontal that just didn't need to happen under any circumstances
dont think i ever made it past the part in the game where you are in a fever dream dodging every piece of furniture in your apartment so this will be nice to enjoy

I already watched Baby Pigman's edits of these streams and you think I'm going to spend 3 and a half hours watching it again? Well, you are absolutely right, I'm pegged out of my gourd right now.
I remember watching a huge like retrospective of all of David Cages games. A big review of him as a person and all he's games. This is one of the games I remember my brother playing. One that I actually have experience with.
favorite part of this game by far, is the little beeping sounds when NL hits a QTE successfully and its constantly going off during every single scene, just really drills down how un-human this game this lmao

Gotta respect the librarian for providing sustenance during the drought - not that I was expecting this game in particular lol
I love that the most professional yapper on twitch is also stunned into silence at the asian store owner scene
By far the most potent mechanism for delivering the fox rant so far. You must have been pissing yourself when you got to the news bit. 10/10
