I've used Dillion's a number of times. They are very thorough in my experience.

Having owned two airplanes I can agree that they are expensive to maintain. Proper consistent maintenance will lower the overall cost significantly so don't just push maintenance off as it can grow exponentially. 95% of items on an GA aircraft do not need to be done by a manufacture service center. This is just price gouging and excess money spent when it's not needed. Most of the time, you don't get the best bang for the buck! Also, highly recommend you find a good solid A&P and do an owner assisted annual. This is the best way to learn about your aircraft and it will save you a ton of money and you will also know your aircraft significantly better.

Generally I agree with your statement. In this case, using the Diamond service center was beneficial for both the plane, myself and my mechanic. My mechanic does not have extensive experience with Diamonds so, he learned a great deal from this experience concerning Diamond specific items that he can use going forward. Also, the service center identified several issues that had been overlooked by a number of my previous mechanics. Perhaps had these items been caught in previous inspections, they would not have piled up and caused the enormous bill. I also learned many things that will help me maintain the plane better.

Great video, the way you explained everything was simple enough to be understood easily. I'm not a Pilot or anything but I have been curious and to be honest, my friend in the Philippines who has a private pilot license and working on his commercial pilot license kind of makes me want to be one. And after watching so many YT videos, I really like the Diamond mainly because of the design, safety records, and fuel efficiency. Anyway, how long have you had this plane that you just got the annual inspection done for the 100 hours? oh, I'm also a new subscriber hahaha! I've seen your other videos before and didn't realize until now that I never click to subscribe....

I had had my DA40 for about 6 years. I think it is a great plane for all the reasons you listed. Thanks for subscribing.
