Eat Your Yard Jax
Most people don't realize it, but it is possible to incorporate delicious, healthy, and naturally beautiful "food producing" environment of different plants in your landscape.
Eat Your Yard Jax believes a yard should be more than just attractive sterile plants in your surrounding environment. It should be a place that feeds mind, body and spirit, a place to share nature with children, family and neighbors.

Mallory and Courtney made some delicious elderberry syrup! We made sure to remove all the green berries because they can be toxic. Remember, elderberries can’t be eaten raw-they must be cooked for at least 20 to 30 minutes, preferably an hour, to be safe. The syrup can be refrigerated or frozen for future use. For a refreshing mocktail, just add a splash of elderberry syrup to sparkling water. ...

Great to see a new video!!
Thank you!
What state is this video located In?
Northern Florida
Love Eat Your Yard Jax! They have friendly and passionate workers who are filled with a wealth of knowledge about permaculture and natural gardening. Recommend their classes too!
Great video braddah. Very informative. Been lookin to add blueberry to my crops. Mahalo nui loa. 🤙🏼
that stuff was so rich! amazing cooks :) delicious!!
It is definitely a survival food, especially during hurricane season, root crops remain intact under the soil during the storm while the aerial crops are devastated. I love to plant true yams, sweet potatoes, cassava, taro and peanuts during summer.
Yuca is a great food crop with many uses. Thanks for making this video. Please be careful about consuming yuca/cassava raw because cassava, contains cyanide to protect itself from insects. This cyanide can be removed by peeling, boiling, cooking, fermenting, or sun drying. Cooking yuca to a temperature above 100°F is enough to get rid of the cyanide. Soaking yuca before boiling is also more effective than boiling alone. My wife soaks it overnight and then cooks it. Again, awesome video I am subscribed.
lol..definitely don't eat it raw. t's toxic unless cooked :)
Referred to you from keystone heights Facebook! Great channel🎉
Thanks!
Very informative Thanks
Love this!!
Adding this to my family list. Lots of fresh dishes to come from what I’m hearing in the video and I can’t wait to see more. This one has me drooling. I would’ve loved to see you do a dough let me know if you’re interested in some sourdough starter I will drop some by so you can start making your own. I hope 2024 is a big year for yall! ❤
Looks good! 😎😋
I'm trying to choose between growing Anna and Dorsett apples. Do you recommend one over the other? Is one sweeter and one more tart? Are they both tart? I've never tasted either kind.
How do you keep your banana plants over winter?
I didn’t know crispy persimmons were a thing! When your guest bit into the first one I cringed for her because I thought it was going to be crazy astringent. 😅 I should have know better!
Sang Việt Nam các bạn ăn cả năm , măng , mà bạn bóc vỏ gọt cạnh ngoài , và cắt phần già đi , rồi với đun chứ
Nice to see a new video. Love persimmons, looking forward to persimmon season.
Glad to see another video. It’s been a while.
You have all of the greats! I have Katuk, Malabar, Sorrel and Callaloo growing this year. I'd like to add Egyptian Spinach and Chaya next year. It's amazing to have all of this nutrition growing right in the backyard.
Super helpful information, thank you!
We have the Kahili and Butterfly ginger here in New zealand, never tried but always thought it must be good for something, its classed as an invasive weed its everywhere.
Ginger need more sunlight, the more sunlight it get the larger tuber are.Its almost same like tapioca and sweet potato.

This video was 5 years ago. How did they do? Are you pleased with them? Is there anything you’d do differently?
Wonderful video, appreciate all of the images and information!
I really like the first edible clumbing baboo you have but for some reason I cannot find its information online. Is it called OMI bamboo (not sure if I heard you right)? How cold can it survive? Do you ship fresh bamboo shoots to the North East?
Hopefully the nearby grass field doesn't have runoff from pre-emergent like Prodiamine going into the bushes, wonder what chemicals the yard guys use to treat the nearby grass to keep it weed free 🤔
I started growing a moso bamboo indoors in a pot. How long would it take to be full grown?
Not sure never grown it indoors
Those greens look beautiful. I love growing my own food. Just moved to Florida and trying to learn what I can grow in this climate. I remember as a kid I used to go to Virginia from the city live in New York, and I fell in love with the farm.. Thanks for sharing. I’m now in Ft Meyers.
Id love to know when to plant/ harvest plants.
I will not even touch these bluberries 😰
OK. More for the rest of us.

fun video! i was cooking with canned baboo shoots and was curious how they are harvested
Do I need another year in the ground for larger tubers??
Hastings FL Very large harvest but tiny rhizomes in leaf mulch
You could let them go another year. They have a long growing season so not sure when you planted them.
cool :) thank u
Thank you so much for this very helpful video!
Well I learned something new today. I have a big loquat in my yard but never used the leaves!
This is amazing! Looks so delicious! Great job on the video, gentlemen!
