I didn’t want a banana tree, as I’m not a fan of bananas. My superstitious mom said that ghosts like to hide in banana trees, haha. But, after watching this video. I want one. Vietnamese cuisine use the banana flowers in salads. It would be finely sliced and can be used as a edible garnish too.

How do you keep your banana plants over winter?
This video was 5 years ago. How did they do? Are you pleased with them? Is there anything you’d do differently?
What do you use to fertilize your banana trees and how often? Thank you!
They are heavy feeders. What ever I can, mostly rabbit poo and compost with an biannual spring late summer shot of general purpose organic fertilizer.
I just use my standard organic fertilizer. They are pigs though and love mulch and what ever you might have.
