    Another outstanding video thank you. I noticed that the wild BB bush you showed in the video is in a lot of shade. How many hours of sun do they need? Thx

      I see many wild blueberries growing in full shade! However my commercial growing friends tell me it is a direct relation between sun and full potential production.

    I am on my 3rd year of trying to grow blue berries. Last year the tips of the leaves started to get brown and then eventually all brown and died. Replanted them this year and did not want it to happen again. What makes the leaves turn brown.

    Hopefully the nearby grass field doesn't have runoff from pre-emergent like Prodiamine going into the bushes, wonder what chemicals the yard guys use to treat the nearby grass to keep it weed free 🤔

    Thank you for the video. My garden is in a similar climate and I want to plant a few dozen bushes. Do you think rabbiteye or the southern high bush have greater yield, and which one is generally healthier or more vigorous?

      They both produce well and we grow and sell both at our nursery here in Jax. www.eatyouryardjax.org . I like to plant a few of each to take advantage of a longer berry season!!

    I got 3 brightwell blueberry plant maybe 5 months ago now. I didnt know that bout the pine bark ill have to look for it everyone always just says the peat moss. You said you use it in the spring and again in fall. Does that mean you put on a big thick layer of it one time in the spring and let it sit til fall and do one thick layer again. Or over the course of spring and fall you add it here and there?

    • @eatyouryardjax4033
      @eatyouryardjax4033  4 года назад

      yes! I use 1/2 to a full 5 gal bucket per plant depending on age size and health of the plant. And remember the spring fertilizer which I apply before the mulch at spring bud break.
