Yuca is a great food crop with many uses. Thanks for making this video. Please be careful about consuming yuca/cassava raw because cassava, contains cyanide to protect itself from insects. This cyanide can be removed by peeling, boiling, cooking, fermenting, or sun drying. Cooking yuca to a temperature above 100°F is enough to get rid of the cyanide. Soaking yuca before boiling is also more effective than boiling alone. My wife soaks it overnight and then cooks it. Again, awesome video I am subscribed.
It is definitely a survival food, especially during hurricane season, root crops remain intact under the soil during the storm while the aerial crops are devastated. I love to plant true yams, sweet potatoes, cassava, taro and peanuts during summer.
