So... 11?
The last one Globalize Plugins is the real gem my biggest frustration with godot is that everytime a new version comes you have to first remember the name of the plugin you want to install then go and search for it then install it and since godot is getting updated frequently you have to repeat this process frequently
exactly what i want to fix this damn wrong transparent sprite3d sorting! thanks a lot
thanks for tutorial
Does the path2d collision always work? For some reason it doesn't work for me. But it used to work when my shape was way bigger.
I think the reason was that I created my shape with not enough points
Fun part is that 3 of featured addons will be deprecated with the release of 4.4! Camera preview, runtime debug and embedded game window
For setters I offten have bugs that is easy to fix by adding this line at being of setter: `if !is_node_ready(): await ready`
Sadly they can't be free of woke culture... That is the point that keep me out of the godot...
Good thing for us then
If the purpose is actually showing the games, then it's not a good idea to have more than half of the video with much reduced brightness and on top of that captions at the middle obstructing the image.
Is anyone else having a strange problem with getting this to work in Godot 4.3? I've remade the project in 4.2 and it works fine but in 4.3 it seems like the velocity breaks down. Anyone have a solution to this?
For the last game, this naming device was genious. It get such clunky and cartoonish vibes, yet at the same time a seriousness as if I am signing away my soul. What an attention to detail!
Cant believe this video . . . . . It a video!
Great video, I just wish that narrations and read-outs of comments were easily distinguishable. Bunch of times I'd be listening and I couldn't tell them apart for a moment. A pause in-between would help. Or you could modify the audio of read-outs so they sound different (e.g. make it sound slightly muffled by cutting off higher frequency).
Thanks! I'll definitely work on that for the next one, thanks for the feedback
I didn't even know buckshot roulette was made in Godot.
wow these type of videos are great thank you!
Really awesome that you were able to interview someone from each of the games you've showcased!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Stopped watching during Ridiculous Coding.
Awesome
Should definitely have reached out to the Road to Vostok developer, too, If you didn't do so. Surprised to not see it in this video.
I showcased Road to Vostok in the first showcase. I might do a separate video focused on his experience as I think we can discuss lots of stuff
@@mrelipteach Oh, I see. Didn't realise this was a second part. Would definitely watch that if you made another video!
what is this shit?
I think it's a video about 3d games made in Godot
"Control-clicking on things taking you to the wrong position in the docs." Oh thank god it's not just me.
Appreciate the interviews, brings real world feedback from successful developers to us hopeful developers who haven't found success in Godot and are questioning its validity as a game engine.
"license change shaped knife" lol it's poetry
Maybe The Key is, watch the RIGHT Tutorials, like MrElipteach. And watch it more then twice, while doing it, not just watching!
A minor suggestion for the future: It would be much clearer if there was a slight difference in audio when you read the answers from others compared to you asking questions. For instance, make "their voice" sound more tinny as if through a radio with EQ and/or high pass filtering.
In the future I migh just interview them directly to make it more alive. Thanks for the suggestion
You could also try putting quotation marks, italicizing, changing the font color, font size, translucent background color, placement of the text, etc. whatever it takes to not make it look similar to the interviewer and not get confused. Good job though and I liked the questions.
this video is coming in clutch for my essay on godots business model wherre i am also attempting to discuss some of the drawbacks of godot. this presents a very nuanced and perspective view of the situation :) might use this, depending on how stringent they'll be about sources (it's a 3rd year university course)
also subscribed!
Ace that essay brother!
I assume you're including the risk that they could turn potential customers off due to political decisions?
@@GregKrsak I do mention the branches that occured yes, but I don't think that such projects will survive long term. I also do not see it as a risk to the business, personally
@@icyroad1912 Thank you :)
I would suggest making it a bit more clear who is saying what next time, since it's a single voice reading the questions and the answers, e.g.: When I asked him (...), he replied (...). Then I asked about (...), and according to him (...). I brought up (...), in his words (...).
fantastic video. those interviews give me confidence in the engine
Great to hear!
The shots at unity from mike at the end made me love buckshot roulette even more. What a great piece of art
The interviews are great to have. Thanks for your hard work on this video.
Glad you enjoyed it!
I was actually surprised when I got to know that Buckshot Roulette was made in godot. I even searched in google if it was true.
I'm 13 right now and and I have a great game ideas but sadly I don't have the money to buy a pc or computer so I can't download godot 4 and make games but one day.
Developing on android sucks, but godot has official android version, I think you can tinker around if you really want
@shivangrathore no thank you I'm just gonna save some money to buy maybe a mini pc that could run godot
@@BOB-ft1what's your phone?

Bless that Wild Cosmos game. I have been making my gravitational platformer for over 15 years lol. Unity and all over the place (life got in the way) now I am proper settling down. I have become a crazy gravitational expert however godot hasnt quite got to the point i wanted so I will keep an eye on its 3D until it gets to a level I am happy with. I already have my game running in the thing I just wanted more from the graphical distance and to push intense landscapes. I will be back godot. Promise.
15 years is wild
I'm only one year older than your game
how do you implement a debug menu like 1:00. No info in likned DEBUG TOOL video
It depends what you're trying to achieve. If you talk specifically about drawing stuff in the world, you can either use the _draw function or any node you want. Line2D can be especially useful to draw vectors for example
can you help me? im trying to figure out how to control an object with your phone in a 3d space. i can get it to rotate with the magnometer and gyroscope. but i cant get it to move up down left right and forward and back. any tips or suggestions?
You need the read acceleration or more precisely the change of acceleration. For example, imagine your phone is flat on a table, the acceleration will be roughly -9.8m/s² (gravity) so if you move the phone towards the ceiling, this acceleration will get closer to 0. You could assume players are using the phone in one orientation and base your calculation on that, or you can take into consideration the orientation of the device using the gyro
Hello everyone, anyone has code for automatic polygon triangulation?
There are two functions for the in the geomtry class (Geometry2D in Godot 4 I beleive).

Godot 4.3 ResourceLoader isn't working and it's so new that my Ai can't help me with the gdscript, I tried for an entire month but couldn't get anywhere I'm litteraly back to square one after over a month of pouring my heart into the game I was building and I'm just so frustrated that it came crashing down today that I'm now looking at wether 4.x is a functional Engine at this time.
Runs on Windows ARM, which is nice, many game engines wont
Does the shader work if I'm using it on Sprite2D as well? Or only TextureRect
I don't see any reason why it wouldn't work. A canvasitem shader will work on any canvasitem derived node
Very nice overview, definitely excited to see more and more people get into tool creation for the engine to create a thriving ecosystem!
So clearly explained, and exactly what I was looking for
Man this is so damn helpful, is ppl like you and videos like these that makes me discover so much functionality that'd otherwise take me ages to find out, thank you so much!! Also, how do I invoke that "Select Resource" window at 03:11 ? The one with a "fuzzy search" toggle down there, I can't seem to find it anywhere 😅
In the EditorScript you can get the EditorInterface and then you can call popup_quick_open. This is only availalbe in 4.4. docs.godotengine.org/en/latest/classes/class_editorinterface.html#class-editorinterface-method-popup-quick-open
Great rundown of various systems. It is always fun to learn about what is available that I was not aware of in a tool I am using.
The embed mode and camera preview are amazing and should be merged in the editor tbh.
Love this! Thank you! Subbed.
The pros of godot is that it is very easy to learn even for beginners, however if you want your experience to look good on a resume you are better off picking up Unity or Unreal Engine as there are more industry positions that use those engines. If you want to simply make your own games and that is your only goal then Godot is a pretty solid choice. There are plenty of commercial successes that have been made by small indie teams using Godot.
