I've created a little plugin called Godot 3D Cursor. That as the name suggests implements a 3D cursor similar to the one in Blender. If you place it within your scene new nodes are placed at the cursors position. I wanted that functionality to imrove the level building for me.
Script-IDE is a required addon for every Godot developer. Godot is the ONLY software I've every used where there is a Tab Pane above a Content Pane and yet the tabs do not relate to what's in the Content Pane. It's not just bad design, it's malicious design because it takes the paradigm we've learned from every IDE, every browser, every spreadsheet, in fact, every single piece of software in the world which uses tab panels and makes what you've learned fight against you. The tabs should never have been the way to change scenes, they should always have been the way to change scripts in the content pane the tabs are attached to. I've lost count of the times I've clicked a tab and out of habit I've expected the tab to change the code below it (Because that's the way all the IDEs I've used for the past 30 years as a professional developer have worked) and I end up editing the wrong file. Every Godot project which uses GD Script needs to have Script-IDE.
@@jefreestyles But I can also drag from the file browser which, while it may not be as convenient, doesn't cause the purposeful misdirection of having scene tabs above the script editor.
Not malicious. Adapt, overcome and improvise. Its one thing to complain if you were paying for godot but its 100% free. If you don't like something then try to fix it and submit the idea to be included in the next release. To state something is malicious is very rude on so many levels. It wouldn't surprise me if you were paid by unity to say this.
Yeah, +1 to not malicious. UI/UX is much harder than people think. The current solution was probably the path of least resistance to get something that works half-decent, and they moved on to other more interesting problems. Outside of Jetbrains, many many IDEs suck lol
Holy cow, runtime debug tools looks incredible, especially the scene object picker - that's something that I really miss from unity, especially when there's a weird problem I need to troubleshoot on a specific deeply needed node. Would love to see that feature become a standard in the base editor at some point

I would have never thought my stuff (EmbedGame) would be featured in videos like this, when I started with Godot.
Thank you so much!

1:16 my 3 must have addons for my 3d projects: camera preview, csg converter, and gd blender 3d shortcuts . (and also now probably phantom camera)
MagicMacros and ScriptIDE now grabbed my attention. Thanks for sharing! 😘👍
The embed mode and camera preview are amazing and should be merged in the editor tbh.

The cool thing having it not linked is you can cltr+drag things from the tree into any script.

Dang these all look awesome. Excited to try them out!
amazing))) big thanks
Fun part is that 3 of featured addons will be deprecated with the release of 4.4! Camera preview, runtime debug and embedded game window
Tbh, i hope they push Script IDE into the source code.
honestly, runtime debug tools and embed games too
@@mjdevlog Embed games is on 4.4 branch now! :D also I love the IDE one should be default since it doesnt bloat it much
Super interesting, as usual 😎!
Glad you think so!
You should check the Post Processing addon :D
Very cool !

It's coming in 4.4 I think
@@mrelipteach yep, it + embedder arealready in 4.4 dev4, although not in their complete final state
Yessir finally a new one
ScriptIDE and Macro seems like very nice for my system heavy games
Can the destructible mesh have a pregenerated seed, so as the "break" the mesh exactly the same every time?
Not sure about that but it could easily be added I guess
EmbedGame looks great but Windows only. I'm looking forward to this for Mac.
Oh I didn't check that! It might be because it uses windows specific features
Guess I'll actually have to make sure that MagicMacros works now. lol.
Shoot, Runtime Debug Tools isn't listed as compatible with 4.3 yet.
I used it with 4.3 and it worked fine!
Didn’t know about the Picture in Picture
I tried to like this video 3 times 02:00

Thats 11
No, that's an addon.
