      Hi Sam & thanks for the time to view & your positive comments ! I wish it were that easy all the time tbh. This is an example of my fun 15 mins at the end of a practice session, where I am just letting the cue go a bit for fun. I find you forget to enjoy it otherwise. I am after all only a club player. Thanks again Sam & have a great xmas !

    Brilliant! Another great video that made me laugh at the casual way you smash difficult balls in like they are over the pocket! Great long double and in off to finish too. If this was done on Tv it would be talked about for years haha. Have a good christmas and new year :-)

      Hey Sam, thanks for the compliments & time to view. I always appreciate it from all you folks. Your comment did amuse me Sam. Club tables are a bit easier tbf but you are probably right, not often you would get so many mad pots on the trot I guess. Thanks again, have a great Xmas & new year !

    Where you been Craig? Seems ages! This is more crazy than the first one! There are some real scorchers and the pink to the middle bag is a fantastic pot from tight on the rail! Loved the black double and screw in off (I assume you played the in off?) You sight the ball so quickly, really mad. The green with checkside looked a difficult shot but it was get down and whack. Robert Milkins is the only person I can think sights that way. If I don't take my x amount of time on the shot I miss even the easiest balls. Excellent work again, great music to. Anything else coming up? Happy Christmas to you to.

      Hey CB ! Hope alls good with you, always nice to hear from you. I know it's been a while, been a bit tied up tbh. Hoping to get a few more videos on in the near future. Yes I did play the in off, it was a total clearance Haha. Sometimes they just keep going in if you just keep trying ! As I have said before at the end of the session I like to really have a lash for 15 mins or so. Sometimes when you are really trying ya ass off for a few hours you can forget you are supposed to enjoy it ! I now try to have a little fun at the end just to free the arm & enjoy the game. Thanks for your positive comment & have a great xmas mate.

    Hi Craig. Another great video m8! I would be happy with that in a month lol. You no me and cuepower so my favorites were probably the few positional shots played with stun and screw. I have to say though 2 great safety shots, perfect judgement of pace and line. Enjoying the World this year, some mad results! Keep up the good work m8.

    Reply to Tijin (can't reply to you directly for some reason). This table was actually set up using the star tournament table template system by a registered tournament fitter. Although it does not say Star on it the pockets, cushions(steel block) etc were all to a strict tournament template.

    Wow :-0 What a clearance m8! The action you got on the cueball from yellow to green was lovely striking, goes without saying the potting was just mental! I thought even the black was quite difficult but you just bombed it in 100mph. Really enjoyed this 1, great potting and a nice bit of video and audio work to. Particularly liked the way you set the music to build up to the pacey double, just adds to the atmosphere of the video (not my type of music but seemed to fit great). You have skills! I know you constantly say you are an average club player but I am a (maybe below haha) average club player and we are nothing alike in ability hahaha. Excellent! Whats next I wonder?

Thanks again mate & all the best.

Take care Sam & thanks again.

    Cracking breaks and a great video m8!! The century was a great break but I really liked the 83 clearance, some top class long pots to keep it going!! I thought you sorted out the reds really well in the century and was a real pity you had that mad bounce and couldn't clear the table. I notice you also had a big bounce in the 83 as well, do you think that is a common problem along with kicks? Do you think it's worse on certain tables, weather etc. interesting that nobody can actually sort it out. Liked the amusing effects, the donkey and homer both made me laugh. Good stuff m8, what about a splitting the pack shots video? I think it would be great to show different ways of getting the reds open. Anyway, Happy new year to you to :-)

    • @snookercardiffcraiganthony6572
      @snookercardiffcraiganthony6572 7 лет назад

      Hi CB, great to hear from you ! Thanks for the view & positive comments, much appreciated ! I must admit I liked the 83 myself, it just looked so unlikely to end up being a clearance lol. As far as the bounces go......this table has very unreliable cushions ! It's my favorite table but it has terribly unpredictable cushions, in particular behind te black spot & on the baulk line. On the yellow side of the table the white always comes off the cushion towards the side cushion at a crazy pace ! As for kicks it's a lottery really, although it seems certain sets of balls, tables & even weather conditions seem to affect it. I must say however I agree with Ronnie, the smoother you're cueing the less likely you are to have a kick (not for 1 minute saying all kicks are bad cueing !). I always feel I have way less kicks when I'm cueing well. On another note, good idea mate ! If I ever actually get time I will give it a go ! Thanks again mate.

    • @cueballjones3665
      @cueballjones3665 7 лет назад

      Hi m8. Very interesting, just viewed the video again and now you mention it I did notice the back cushion throwing the white wide. I did not see it until you pointed it out. I suppose if you play on that table often you will see it's quirks and get familiar with the way it rolls, bounces and more. I'm not sure you would notice so much if you played to a lower standard. I would probably not be affected so much as my positional play or break building are not to as high a standard (never had a half century!). Kicks I think we all have to live with, especially with the state of most club balls! Maybe something in the cueing thing though, you do notice when players are flying they hardly ever seem to get kicks but players who are struggling seem to be literally kicked by it when they are down! Top stuff :-) Would love to see another shots video from you m8, been a while.

    2 Excellent breaks in a very slick entertaining video my friend :-) A century is always impressive but even more so when the pack needs splitting and things need sorting out. I did however enjoy the 83 more due to the great recoveries you constantly pulled off in the later stages, that was some impressive long potting! I liked the touch of humour too, along with the other effects and music it made a nice bright production. How much do you practise to play to this sort of standard? Happy New Year too :-)

    • @snookercardiffcraiganthony6572
      @snookercardiffcraiganthony6572 7 лет назад

      Hi Sam, always nice to hear from you. Thanks for the view & positive comments, very flattering ! Funny thing is a number of friends etc have said they enjoyed the 83 more, I must say I really enjoyed it myself. I could never see myself getting the clearance to be honest ! I was quite proud of both breaks after not much practice. I only manage around 2 hours a week & maybe 3 sessions per month (4 if i'm lucky, no where near enough !). I have really tried hard to apply myself more & in particular take more time & stay a bit more still on the shot. I find this has helped considerably even with the small amount I practice. I just struggle to find the time & really only enjoy playing in peace when the club is quiet. Thanks again Sam & all the best.

Nice to see you are getting more respectable view figures, your excellent efforts deserve it. Thanks again.

Yes sure am, if you click on my channel logo or name at the top I have a load more videos (a lot better tbh, most recent is a 128 clearance from a few months ago). I also have another video made at the Galaxy center. I really like that area, my partner & I visit quite often. I do like to try to pop in & have a few frames where possible (managed an 88 last time & was gutted to miss the chance of a Torquay Ton !). Great to hear from you, thanks again for the visit & have a great Christmas & New Year !

    what I find most interesting is you gave up for 20 years? I played to a good standard in my 20s making centuries in matches but I stopped playing for 18 years. Last year I picked up a cue again and played rubbish with a couple of buddies but I was more interested in the social and having a few beers. Something changed and I now feel more driven looking to practice at every limited opportunity though tbh, for me it's a winter sport. I put a video on my channel which was done after my first week of solo practice - miles away from you obviously but I'll put up some more as I improve this winter.

    • @snookercardiffcraiganthony6572
      @snookercardiffcraiganthony6572 8 лет назад

      Hi. Welcome & thanks for the view & comment. I am glad to hear that you have decided to play again because to my mind anyone talented enough to make tons in proper matches should be playing the game. Unfortunately I was never really at that level even years ago. These days I can't seem to find time to practice any where near enough to expect anything amazing. For instance I have only managed a few hours twice in the last 3 -4 weeks which even if you are a great player is not enough let alone a club player trying to improve. I do however really love the game. That is an amazing thing about this game, whatever standard it's played too by a person they still love it & crave improvement the same. I know club players who are pretty good potters etc but have done 30 years without getting near a half century ! Or people who have played 30 years & can't play a screw shot, but they still love it ! Good luck with your progress, I will be watching :-)

    Hard to believe that's a man in his fifties playing there. He obviously still has the skills but doesn't have the swagger of years gone by. It seems like all the practice in recent years has taken his flair away. Still one of the all time greats though.

    • @snookercardiffcraiganthony6572

      I agree. As I have already said, I have seen Jimmy in a few exhibitions quite recently. He still has fantastic ability & a real desire to compete & entertain. I think the weight on him to prove to everyone & himself he still has it on Tv or the big stage is massive, as it was to win a world title. Still a great player after 3 & half decades though !

    That was an excellent clearance pal. Rolled them in nicely, no danger of missing. Clearing the lot is always a great feeling. I know you could do this with a harder layout though. How about 15 reds on the baulk cushion ;)) The 6 colours always seem easy for you but the blasted green has been getting me again lately. Well played :)

    • @snookercardiffcraiganthony6572
      @snookercardiffcraiganthony6572 8 лет назад

      Hi mate, nice to hear from you. Thanks for view & comment, appreciate it. I have to say I do manage to mess up the basic colors clearance very often. It always seems something so rudimentary you should be able to do it blindfolded ! It just rarely is ! How can it be hard ....they are always in the same place lol. I know what you mean, it is usually the pink for me. I usually don't get the brown to blue or blue to pink right then its curtains ! I have been trying to get a target break from the pack every session & it is improving. I am however a mile from your standard of precise & I have to say excellent break building. I will catch up on your latest video's when I have a min, always nice to see how it should be done ! Thanks again.

    Hi Craig, long time no see!Loved your 2 latest vids m8! This is a great effort, really composed and looking very professional to. I see you mentioned giving every shot 100% which is very noticeable in this break. It sounds easy but it is just so hard! Many times I pull off a few good or tricky shots and am so busy thinking I have got in to a good position for a break or giving myself a pat on the back I miss a crazy ball! Obviously not 100 breaks but I guess it is the same. Make you wonder how the big boys stay focused in long big pressure matches really.Good to see you back and happy to hear you are hoping to be uploading more often.

      Hi CB & thanks for your comments, positive as always :-). Glad you liked the video's, I have also uploaded a Ronnie 147 in case you missed it. Yup, this is about the most concentration I can muster these days lol. You are so right ! We are all guilty of that, too busy concentrating on giving our self's a pat on the back for a good shot or too busy thinking how much is on etc. I don't know how the pros give 110% for hours on end, especially in long frame events like the World Championships. I find it hard to focus four an or two, usually have gone to bits by the end of a few hours practice. I blame my age lol. Thanks again Cb.

    Excellent stuff Craig! Really classy clearance, never looked in doubt at all. Nice steady pace and great focus, really looked as if you were 100% on it every shot. lovely video and audio quality plus really enjoyable production. I think the music really adds to the atmosphere and the ref counting is a great idea, It makes it easy to concentrate on the shots and still know where you are. Easy to watch and enjoy. keep them coming!

      Hi Anthony. Thanks for your time to view & comment, much appreciated. I had really struggled for a while so approached this session thinking I would give every shot 100%. On this occasion it worked out, unfortunately it doesn't always ! I do try to make my video's as entertaining as possible & I agree it is much easier with a reference to the score. The ref is courtesy of my partner who is very helpful with my snooker obsession lol. I hope to be uploading more often, it's all about time. It's surprising how long it takes someone with my limited video skill (not to mention snooker lol) to make a tidy video ! Thanks again :-)

    Excellent! So it's really that easy then? just pop down the club throw the balls on the table and make a century clearance lol. Can't understand how I have managed to make it look impossible for 15 years lmao. I realise this is a practice situation where you have scattered the balls around but this is still way beyond normal club players. In reality most of us would be chuffed to make 30 odd at a visit even in practice. I have watched a few of your lower breaks which are quick and appear to be a total piece of cake. Could you offer tips or advice on improving break making please? I know many club players would appreciate it. Thanks.

      @snookercardiffcraiganthony6572 8 лет назад

      Hi Anthony & thanks for your time to view & comment, I appreciate it :-) Haha.....if only it was that easy. Unfortunately it is not that easy, well not for mere mortals like me anyway. I have had quite a number of centuries but they still make me nervy towards the end & every one still means lot to me (slightly different to players who are knocking them in daily I guess). I try to focus hard when I know the ton is on & sometimes strangely I feel more relaxed when there is less on, as you mentioned in the 50 to 80 bracket don't feel so nervy so tends to be quicker & a little more fluent. I was trying my ass off in this particular break tbh. As for advice I always say the same thing when asked. Set yourself targets in solo practice. It is very difficult to practice break building in matches, even friendly's. Do a bit of solo practice with a decent target. If your highest break is 40 (you didn't say so just a random figure) set a daily practice target of say 25 - 30. Once that becomes easy set it to 35....then 40....and onward. You will find you will be more comfortable & less nervy at the prospect of reaching these targets & before you know it you will be easily exceeding figures you may have felt were unattainable. It is vital you pick a figure that is far from easy but not too difficult to dishearten yourself. My target is 50 +. Some days get there in 10 minutes other days hours ! Anyway I am waffling. Hope this helps & thanks again.

    Wow :-0 Great video! That is some amazing potting coupled with some top notch cueball control. you inject incredible power in to the shot. The screw sand stun run through shots are awsome and made to look ridiculously easy too. These shots are way harder to play on woolly club tables than on the super fast tables we see on Tv and exhibitions. I guess we expect this from top pros but not from somebody down the club. Very enjoyable :-)

    Great cue power! In these type of shots does the cue need to be gripped lightly throughout the stroke or lightly on back swing and tight on impact or something else ?

    • @snookercardiffcraiganthony6572
      @snookercardiffcraiganthony6572 8 лет назад

      Hi Zeeshan & thanks for the view & comment. I don't tend to hold the cue tightly to be honest. Some people have a really light grip & some seem to pivot the wrist more & hold the cue tightly. I guess it is down to how you are comfortable but I would say a loser free flowing grip is better for accelerating through the shot. This really is key, timing & acceleration. Ronnie is a fantastic example of attaining the most reaction with the least force & gets fantastic action from so little effort. It's flowing actions like Murphy, Lee, Trump, white Etc that give the crazy power. Things to experiment with, try lengthening the length of your bridge a little. This makes a considerable difference when you know you are going to need a big cuepower shot. Exaggerate your pause a little, it is always a surprise to see how little tweaks can have a big effect. Thanks again Zeeshan, nice to hear from you.

    hey bro.can you explain me what's the tip behind those monster screws?what really matters?cue timing or acceleration?

    • @snookercardiffcraiganthony6572
      @snookercardiffcraiganthony6572 8 лет назад

      +Aditya Reddy Hi Aditya & thanks for your view & comment. This is a great question, Both are important tbh. There are however instances when timing is everything. For example when you want to avoid an obstacle or make a canon, when you want the action on the cueball to react as quickly as possible it is all about timing. Lets say you are thinner on the black than intended to split the reds, the harder you hit the cueball however much acceleration your spin will react too late. If you decrease the pace but time the strike perfectly the reaction is fantastic. Ronnie is a perfect example of incredible timing which gives maximum effect for minimum effort. Shaun demonstrates that long flowing cue action which is more reliant on acceleration for crazy reaction over any distance. A shot I practiced for years & still do is a ball on the blue spot, cueball on the baulk line & try to pot the ball & get as close to screwing in off in the baulk pocket (so obviously straight on the diagonal). If you struggle, try a few things. Just for that shot try slightly lengthening your bridge, exaggerate the pause on the back swing & accelerate completely through the cueball. Try focusing on acceleration, then timing. Even flattening your bridge slightly will give a different effect. There are a number of tips which give better reaction, for instance Kamui give crazy reaction. I can't use the Kamui black as I simply can't stop over-screwing everything because the reactions is so great from them. Hope this helps & please let me know how you get on & what your thoughts are on the matter. Thanks again for the visit.

    Goodness me Craig, with escapes like that you might be the Houdini of snooker! Some equally good snooker so too. I'm a complete beginner to the game (I've had 6 hours of practice and a 2 hour lesson) and, whilst casting about trying to find some exercises/drills aimed at practicing single and multi-cushion escapes, I came across your video. Any suggestions as to where to start learning this aspect of the game? I'm going to copy some of your ball set-ups so that I can try to replicate the shots.

    • @snookercardiffcraiganthony6572
      @snookercardiffcraiganthony6572 8 лет назад

      +raspberrycrusader Hi RC, Welcome & to my channel. Firstly thanks for the view & your kind comments. This part of the game comes naturally as your positional play improves. As you practice your mind starts to see the imaginary line of the cueball around the table in more complex fashion all the time. I would say it's like being a cab driver, it's not long before you realize there are multiple ways to get to the same place using a different route ! I sometimes put a few balls on the table randomly & try to hit the on ball via several routes, each more complicated. A massively overlooked part of practice in my humble opinion is the clearance of the colors off their spots. This not only gives you a 27 break but also a good knowledge of cueball movement. A huge number of club games are decided on the colors, so a great practice drill. It is however more difficult than looks. If you can do that, add a red or 2 & try to make the clearance. Another is just reds, blacks & pinks to practice basic break building. As you are just starting you have the choice of exactly how you will play the game. I.E. Tempo, what sort of cue action etc. This is massive, I wish I could go back & re-learn the basics as I did it all wrong lol. Above all set targets ! Strive for a certain break every time you practice, maybe 25 then 30 then 35 & so on. Just to hit balls around is great fun but does not put you under any pressure to focus & achieve. If you enjoyed this video please check out my Canons video (some great angles involved), screw shots video & Mackintosh reds exhibition potting video as they all show a multitude of angles in use. Thanks again, good luck with your game & drop in for a chat anytime !

I play for celtic Club in Pontypridd on Wednesday nights also play pool Thursday nights in the Pontypridd pool league I'm not that good like I said I play pool and moved into snooker and win few games I'm very good at the tactical side if the game I can pot balls it's the breaks I need to improve on

      +Phillip Murphy Sounds like you have been around the cuesports for a while mate, glad to hear you are still competing 1 way or another. I played in the leagues well over 20 years ago. Gave up for around 20 years & only played a handful of times in that period. Started back a while ago & basically have mostly practiced alone concentrating on break building. If you have a minute please check out my other videos. Most popular is the Mackintosh reds video (the 1 with the red writing on the thumbnail) screwshots & the snookers 1 is amusing too. Hoping to upload a bit more in the future. Great to speak to you, good luck with improving your game :-)

      +mustafa ansari Hi & thanks for the visit to my channel. This is a great question. Apparently when cutting a ball thin you are more likely to pot the ball if you do not look at the pocket when down on the shot. Personally when the cueball, object ball & pocket are in view as in say half ball or 3/4 I would probably being using all 3. Thing is though I guess if you have correctly walked in to the line of shot & judged the angle the pocket becomes pretty irrelevant. For instance when I was younger as a test of cueing, we would cue up at a mid range ball & close our eyes before delivering the cue, it is surprising how many you will pot if you are cueing straight & staying still. I have read loads of different theory's on this tbh. I do feel however you will have a natural method of sighting things & in my own experience if I mess with it too much everything becomes over complicated. Thanks again.

      Hi Mate. I'm really am sorry to hear that. You have done what you believed to be right by getting professional advice to try to improve your game which in itself shows that it means a lot to you to improve. I would say take a step back, play a few sessions where you forget about being a better player or scoring, technique or anything else. Throw some balls on the table & knock them in without putting yourself under pressure & try to enjoy the fact that you can play & understand the game as you can. We are all guilty of over analyzing & trying to hard on occasions. For example I may be a better player (by the way thank you very much for the compliment) than I was years ago but I enjoy it less because I expect too much when I play. This is as opposed to banging long balls in & just enjoying it. There is a happy medium between the 2. Good luck putting things right but above all, try to enjoy your ability & don't beat yourself up.......there are plenty of other people around ready to do that for you given the opportunity.

    Hey mate long time no see!! Nice work, cracking clearance. You look so in control and focused in this break. You must have great concentration! If I practice alone I go to the dogs in no time at all, you looked really on it all the way through. When things got awkward you just played a great shot to put things right, no hesitation or even a hint of looking like you may not be able to continue. I find when I get close to my best break I panic and see problems that are not really there or just appear bigger than they are. If I was on 20 I would not give the same things a second thought! Great video. What about the next shots video haha? Come on already.

      +Cueball Jones Hey Cb ! Nice to hear from you as always. Thanks for the positive comment & the view, really appreciate it. I don't always have the best concentration if I am honest. I was trying very hard in this effort ! I played a little slower than usual & tried to be positive about every shot.....even the ones that went wrong. I can't keep that up for too long tho lol. back to lashing out in no time ! I was happy with the few good positional shots that dug me out of trouble in this break, I could have easily messed any 1 of them up. Its only natural to get nervy when you near your best break or even when the opportunity presents itself early on. I still get nervy trying to hit my 50 practice target when I am struggling & always when I feel there is a ton on, even in the practice format like this it's still a big thing for me. Hoping to do a few more vids........got a few more breaks & have a few good ideas for shots vids too :-) Thanks for your support Cb.
