Thanks again Mike, very good of you to say so. It was a bit of a request thing but turned out to be one of my favourites & quite popular (like the screwshots one really). I appreciate the view & comment Mike.
Top shots and effects! Thats a side of the game id forgotten about as i havnt played anyone in yonks. Great touch to pull those shots off. I hope Dennis and Willie aren't charging too much! I request a blindfold 147 for your next video :))
Thanks m8, I really appreciate it. Me too lol. I have the same problem, practise alone so rarely play any safety. I do try to throw a few in now & again but it doesn't last long ! Dennis is cheap but Willie is always expensive.........so my Mrs constantly proves Lmao. As for the blindfold 147 that doesn't actually decrease the likely-hood of me making a 147 lol. Can't see me even making another 100 this year at the mo, not playing well at all. Plus there was a little unpleasantness at the club Sunday so I may have to find somewhere else to play (apparently people shouting the length of the club, whining, howling dogs tied up next to your table, shouting kids, crazy people listening to radios whilst playing snooker & general unbelievable noise & behaviour is not enough to warrant me losing my temper !)
Craig Anthony Wowww! Those are some crazy conditions to play under. I think i would have used the Selby treatment (cue up the snozzle) I remember some rough clubs where it was like playing in the middle of a police riot! That club i play in now is a private 2 table affair where i hardly ever see anyone. Quiet apart from the assholes slamming the crap out of car doors outside. You could always try earplugs or just strangle the bastards! Now that would make a great video :))
bottlecap57 That sounds bliss m8. I am down to 2 hours or so once a week now because early Sunday is the only decent time in the club. Over the last 2 weeks even that has been a nightmare. No joke I do actually wear earplugs as its the only way I can stand it (I carry several pairs in my case) ! They have had some work done which I understand, I don't understand the dog tied up 3 meters from my table (when the club is about 80 meters long !) whining, jumping & howling, the shouting, ridiculously loud TVs (blasting soaps etc) & all the other crap. Nearly lost my head Sunday tbh. I wish I could find somewhere like you have, that would be heaven !
Craig Anthony Yes,im lucky to have that club. Only £2 an hour which is a steal. I think the average price over here ( N Ireland ) is around £6 so im saving a lot. As members we all have keys to the club and just put money in the meter. I only live 5 minutes away so its like having a table in the house. Thats a pity about the club you play in. Looks a big club but its out of order especially with dogs etc. Reminds me of the driving range i go to. Im always surrounded by looneys!
bottlecap57 Thats amazing m8, I would just move in there lol. The people who run it have no respect for people who actually want to have a quiet game of snooker. £8 per hour I pay to play on that table. I do get a host of free sound effects, mental people, laughing policeman, various radio stations, free access to tv soap sound tracks at blood curdling volume, dogs, drilling, smashing, shouting & general imbeciles so I guess its worth it lol. Early Sunday & bank holidays are usually ok but lately even then is murder. Its interesting to note that nearly all my biggest breaks have happened when the club has been empty ! Thanks again for your comments m8. I notice you have a few more century's on, I will be giving them a watch & like later m8.
Awesome display of snooker. You have to have many years of practise and considerable talent to get even half those shots. Potting is not all that is skillful about this game, very impressed. Great production too. Loved the comments, what is the name of the music please? Can't get it out of my head! Keep it up, always pleased you have uploaded & never disappointing
Hi Sam & thanks for your comments, very nice of you. I have had a few years of practise if I am honest (although I gave up for nearly 20 years), not sure about the talent though lol. I'm glad you liked the Video editing side of it too, did work quite hard on this one. The song is called Midnight Drive, I agree it's a great track. Thanks again Sam.
Some really classy shots in this video. Wonderful judgment of speed and angles on the snookers and some outstanding escapes! Great bit of editing with Dennis and Willie with set to perfectly chosen music. What track is this and where.did you find it please? Top job, another enjoyable video.
Hi Robbie & thanks for you comments, very flattering. I,m really glad you enjoyed the video (and the others you have watched). I do enjoy doing them even if sometimes they are quite hard work ! This is the first time I have actually incorporated proper voice over commentary (bottlecap57 does this on a number of his videos & even has the referee counting ! Check his channel out, brilliant player !). It was a little tricky & time consuming but fun too. The track (a number of people have mentioned it !) Is called Midnight Drive, just search for it on here and you will find it immediately (usually has a photo of a sport car at dusk on the thumbnail). Thanks again (your photo always amuses me lol)
Goodness me Craig, with escapes like that you might be the Houdini of snooker! Some equally good snooker so too. I'm a complete beginner to the game (I've had 6 hours of practice and a 2 hour lesson) and, whilst casting about trying to find some exercises/drills aimed at practicing single and multi-cushion escapes, I came across your video. Any suggestions as to where to start learning this aspect of the game? I'm going to copy some of your ball set-ups so that I can try to replicate the shots.
+raspberrycrusader Hi RC, Welcome & to my channel. Firstly thanks for the view & your kind comments. This part of the game comes naturally as your positional play improves. As you practice your mind starts to see the imaginary line of the cueball around the table in more complex fashion all the time. I would say it's like being a cab driver, it's not long before you realize there are multiple ways to get to the same place using a different route ! I sometimes put a few balls on the table randomly & try to hit the on ball via several routes, each more complicated. A massively overlooked part of practice in my humble opinion is the clearance of the colors off their spots. This not only gives you a 27 break but also a good knowledge of cueball movement. A huge number of club games are decided on the colors, so a great practice drill. It is however more difficult than looks. If you can do that, add a red or 2 & try to make the clearance. Another is just reds, blacks & pinks to practice basic break building. As you are just starting you have the choice of exactly how you will play the game. I.E. Tempo, what sort of cue action etc. This is massive, I wish I could go back & re-learn the basics as I did it all wrong lol. Above all set targets ! Strive for a certain break every time you practice, maybe 25 then 30 then 35 & so on. Just to hit balls around is great fun but does not put you under any pressure to focus & achieve. If you enjoyed this video please check out my Canons video (some great angles involved), screw shots video & Mackintosh reds exhibition potting video as they all show a multitude of angles in use. Thanks again, good luck with your game & drop in for a chat anytime !
Was just playing around with my new android Tv box when I came accross your vid. Brilliant piece of work!!!! I live in Cardiff and was looking for local stuff for a laugh. I really am impressed. I don't play snooker often but I do like to watch the pros on TV, I find it so difficult compared to pool its like a football pitch!!!! This is like watching a pro for me, fantastic. Watched it over a few times and still enjoyed it. How on earth did you get the voice over from Taylour and Thorne to be so perfect to describe the shots? Do you record it off theTv or do you have another method? I will look at some of your other vids when I have a bit more time. If this 1 is anything to go by I will be a fan.
Welcome Ronnie & thanks for the compliment :-) There are some pretty good shots in this video but they are of course made easier by the fact there is no real pressure on them (other than making yourself look a clown). Please do have a look at the other videos, most people seem to like the screw shots Vol 5, Vol 4 Canons Vol 3 & the Torquay hot shots is ok. There are about 15 breaks but unless you are a snooker nut avoid the century,s you will proabaly find them boring ! (best breaks are 69 Clearance, 90 clearance & the 60 attempted clearance). Most of the shots videos are quite amusing. Hope to hear from you again Ronnie.
Not just a good potter then!!!!some good shots there well done.
