Couple of things. First, Jean Grey moves things with her mind, not her hands. Her waving her hands is something she does from habit. She moved his platform with her mind and I also believe she threw him with her mind. Second MCU Quicksilver didn't move Hawkeye by carrying him, he pushed him out of the way and took his place. Also even if you are moving super fast, doesn't mean you will always be aware of everything around you. Getting shot earlier would have been reasonable since he was litterally putting his arm into the path of the bullet as he reached forward. If he didn't see the bullet he easily could have got hit.

I will say something before watching the video: For speedsters to make sense, their skins, flesh, muscles and bones need to be as impenetrable, if not higher, than that of Superman. To break time and space, for some of them, with mortal flesh, no matter how absurd the power you got is, it shouldn't be able to prevent you from tearing your leg muscles or grin your bones into a powder. Yes, speed force, is an energy type of thing, but think about it. He can actually get hurt by mere bullets if he don't doge them.

Somebody explain how he's able to listen to several minutes of a song on his Walkman even though the actual amount of time it took him to do everything while he was listening is less than a second. Does his Walkman play at 100,000-times normal speed? That's irrelevant anyway, because he's moving many, many times the speed of sound, so the sound of the music wouldn't even reach his eardrums in that time. He also would have likely killed anyone he touched, moving at that speed.

thats why animes tend to avoid speedsters, usually everyone gets fast as they get stronger, the solution? Dont make speedsters too fast or make everyone fast, like in the sonic universe

Speedsters could have a lot of limitations, as you mentioned, just moving fast would be more dangerous for them than it is for whoever they're fighting. It seems like a straight forward way to keep them from being overpowered, yet the film/tv versions don't usually go that route. They have them overcoming their limitations in the origin story part and then implausibly failing later on.

I agree. One thing that requires though is that they are paying attention. If they’re asleep, they’re vulnerable. Likewise anything supersonic coming at them, they would have to notice it visually since there would be no sound to hear before the impact. So as long as they compulsively check their surroundings visually, they’re pretty invulnerable. Attacks that move at the speed of light, like a laser, would likewise not be perceivable until it already hit them. Even if they could somehow move faster than light, they wouldn’t see a beam of light before it reached them.

Water jets take an insane amount of water to cut things like steal. He was running into misted water from a sprinkler. Not saying it wouldnt hurt but it probably wont cut through him

The entire premise of Flash level speedsters is flawed. Anything with mass moving at light or FTL on earth should cause environmental catastrophes that may very well destroy all life on earth. The energy delivered by a punch at that speed is greater than any weapon we could ever build and annihilate pretty much anything. The physical strain their body can handle is a few orders of magnitudes greater than superman's or homelander's heat vision, or omniman's hand strength. The only real solution is to slow them down significantly. E = mc2, that should be a given.

This is why Saitama always is the best. Everyone knows he is going to win, knows it, but you still watch it bc the creator makes the villains so cocky and unlikable that you just WANT Saitama to beat them quickly

My brother and I actually looked at the xmen appocolypse loss, and we came up with an alternative to how he coukd be beaten to get him to lose without breaking everything. Let me know what you think. It starts off exactly the same, showing everything in quicksilver's perspective with him pounding into appocolipse like there's no tomorrow. After a few seconds of this, it switches to real time with appocolipse in a bleer, as he then activates one of his many abbilities. An inverse explosion, creating a bubble significantly bigger than himself that begins to shrink in around them as it grows more powerful, and visible. It then switches to quicksilvers perspective again, showing him noticing the inverse explosion and trying to get out, finding it's not working. He starts running around trying to figure it out, but there doesn't seem to be a way out. It keeps switching from the two time speeds, showing appocolipse unable to see what's happening and panicing, and quicksilvers time where he can't find a way out. Finally, the bubble captures quicksilver in the air, holding him up while appocylipse uses some other powers, (don't remember most of them) to knock him out, before collapsing from overexersion, showing this wasn't something he can do too much, it's his last resort. What do you think? That make more sense?

Omni has superhuman speed since he can get to different continents in minutes. Also notice in the fight omniman noticed that red rush hit him whenever he looked in the opposite direction and turned hia head to bait him and grab his hand. So his death is kinda believable. Red should have kept playing support the entire fight

I enjoy the dissection but ultimately any other leveling is second to exciting dramatic action.

Moving a person from speed 0 to 8000x the speed of sound to save them, but they experience no acceleration damage. At least the Flash buries problems like that in the “speed force”.

There is one thing you might consider that would actually explain both versions of quicksilver losing the way they did, at least to a degree. Yes they can enhance their perceptions and reaction time to do the whole time in a bottle thing but they don't do it all the time. The way they depict the use of their powers operating like that is a bit like flexing a muscle: sure you can do it and even hold it for a while if you're really trying but eventually you're going to unclench and reality snaps back to regular time. This is actually highlighted by the comic book version of quicksilver more than once where he complains that his entire life is like waiting in line at the bank.... Excruciatingly slow. I mean imagine how long it would take to quicksilver's perceptions just for somebody else to finish a single sentence of his brain was actually operating that fast all the time. As for apocalypse and Jean Gray although apocalypse did not have super speed he definitely exhibited telepathic abilities.... But the narrator is right in that it is BS that he would be able to somehow perceive his movements easily enough to grab him so precisely as opposed to, say detonating the Earth for 20 ft in any direction. As for Jean Gray that kind of depends on exactly how fast her brain is receiving information from the outside world interacting with her telekinetic abilities. There's a better argument for her being able to pull a stunt like that. As for the enhanced durability.... The flash gets a pass for supposedly having a skin tight force field when he runs that allows him to break as many laws of physics as he does... Quicksilver has never exhibited such an ability. Sadly at the end of the day you just have to chalk it up to "let's make things look pretty for the viewing audience"

Writers HAVE to nerf speedsters to make the story work without allowing them to take care of business. I've never seen speedsters be the main. It's always the brick that's the main. Speedsters have legit no reason to be so weak in anything.

In the Flash movie, there was no kryptonite because the terraforming didn't even happen

i would like to point out that shen quicksilver gets shot hes been running for a while, and this version has been shown to get tired from running. also the air up there would be significantly thinner and that would definitely enhance the rate he gets tired

You forgot one simple thing, those bullets would have went right through him, through hawkeye and the boy as well... probably through the car also... there is NO way in hell his body could hold that caliber, also the exit hole would be closer to that of a watermelon. Even saying "his skin is harder blabla" would make no sense, since that small bullet actually did penetrate his skin easily, so no... its just bad writing... and i know, its truly hard to kill off speedsters since they truly are OP, thats why everytime they are defeated it seems so bs.. especially in the flash show, cant remember how many times i thought "well, thats stupid"... like when he saves some folks, running them out and going back, for him thats like 0.20 of a sec but when he is back, the bad guys are gone... like WHERE could they go in 0.20.. even if barry was away for 2, 3-10 sec... still doesnt explain where the bad guys went, how far could they go in such a small ammount of time... and so many more stupid things wich i cant remember rn... but the same goes for supergirl show, when she is stuck in sand and cant get out... i mean wtf, as if she could not get out of normal sand... but thats the drawback with OP characters, its hard to defeat them... Watchmen Movie had a nice touch to that, that guy needed literaly YEARS, the most advanced tech, alot of victims and brain to somehow defeat Dr. manhattan and even then, he did not actually defeat him but rather played with him...

Well, the scene with Apocalypse specifically, I can excuse, since the scene itself makes it clear, that Apocalypses visual Perception can view Quicksilvers top speed at slow motion. Apocalypse's Perception was simply better than Quicksilvers. No, he doesnt have superspeed, he does however have superfast Perception. I thought the way they animated his eyes in that scene, was to convey that specific point. The rest about the scene however was stupid.

He only destroyed the Flaxen’s planet that fast because it was in another dimension wit an accelerated time stream. I think I said in the comic that it took him ten years of relative time.

I was today years old when I found out Wanda’s Russian (?) brother from Marvel is the same character as the underutilized speedster from X-men.

If there's anything I'd like you to criticize it would be Captain America surviving MCU Silver's punch to the head mid run. His head should have been flying or twisted backwards if low-balling. At that speed, Falcon would have been Cap for a very long time now lol. But seriously that punch should have ended him even if it was a love tap at that speed.

The Jean Grey one still makes sense to me. She has the Phoenix force, which is the most powerful being in the galaxy. I can see her either knowing it was coming and moved her hand before the time dilation, or that yeah, she was actually that fast. The Apocalypses one made sense to me as well, considering one of his powers his Super-human reflexes/Speed, on top of the fact that he seem to have some control of other people's powers. Everything else in the video makes sense to me though.

Is the only stuff you know about Superman limited to watching the DCEU? You are really leaning into the “psychologically conflicted” angle as if that were a real aspect of Superman and an actual exploitable weakness. But even a slight familiarity with the more common representations of Superman in comics and other media would have you know that neither of those things are true.

I just hate the power scaling of super hero shows tbh. But I'll say this, fighting agility =/= running speed, basically whilst mma fighters can't run super fast they can sure as hell punch faster and react faster than a runner

He is NOT stopping time. He is moving faster than anyone around him can perceive, but time has not stopped for anyone. He is caught on camera, after all, so he, AND the camera are both moving through the entire scene. Otherwise it would just be for us the same as it was for everyone in that room except QS. Stopping time is not his ability, that is a completely different power set.

When Nolan is destroying that planet alot of time passes because of his facial hair on his face, it takes a long time for them to grow that because the mustache is a sign of matureness to his race because of the time it takes them to achieve it so he would have had to been there awhile

Superman powers do make a story boring, but you can overcome that with good writing. The inconsistency makes the story feel uncreative and cheap though.

I think the MCU Quicksilver death makes sense. He has been shown to see bullets moving, but not dodge or redirect them. Meaning, he knew it was him, or Hawkeye and the child he was protecting. He didnt push Hawkeye, instead took the bullets ment for him, and "redirected them" with his body. Cos they clearly went through him, so would normally have still hit the girl and Hawkeye. By letting them hit him, and still moving, he carried them off their flightpath and saved the pair. His finall words were also about his sacrifice. No one woulda expected it from him... or in that way

Don't know where you got your info from but Quicksilver cannot actually slow down time. This is called time dilation, and it's a result of special relativity theory, which states that time runs at different rates for different observers traveling at different speeds. That wasn't Jean, that was the Dark Phoenix. The Phoenix force can move faster than light. I agree that Quicksilver should not have lost to Apocalypse the way he did. That was absurd.

I think Omniman has what DC’s Cheetah has going. Where they’re fast enough in reflexes to counter wonderwoman and supposedly flash if they were close combat. That doesn’t mean she’s outrunning either of them. So we consider reflex speed, and Rush’s drop in energy in each punch(the show did give one frame of static rush in a punch), it’s safe to say Omniman has all the ingredients to catch him as he did get hit one last time
