Fan replacement worked great in the end following these instructions, but two of the fan screws heads got stripped (probably by my poor technique) so I had to drill them out and just stick with two screws. Seems fine and I'll glue if I get any rattling. Thanks!

Thanks for the video, I wouldn't dare touch it without seeing this first. Turns out it's actually possible to replace fans without disassembly, just take off the hood. Took some dexterity to plug in the connector though

I'm going to remove the black plastic shroud with the fans because they're so loud, especially at around 60% fan speed and above, and replace them with two regular 120mm fans (via an adapter I already used on a different GPU). Could you tell me which of the two black and white connectors is the fan controller and which is for the light?

Thanks for this tutorial! I am not technical in computers. Experienced black screens in just one game, fans went mayham. Did undervolting, DDU in safe mode and all kinds of stuff. Should have begun with this. After three years of a couple of days a week gaming per week, the thermal past was all dried out. Did not replace the thermal pads. Some tore but think they still matched. Under heavy load the temps lowered with 13 degrees! Now the peak is 72c and less 100 procent usage during gaming. Thanks man!

hey bro i have the same gpu , i didnt understand why i need two different thicknesses for the pads ? can i use one for everything ? also should i get a 0.5 , 1 or 2 mm thickness ???

so many cards I sought in teardown and all of them was crippy quality of heatsink, but its the part of very high cost unit. brand cpu coolers heatsink, look at them ,they have much much better quality than heatsink for graphics card. It very odd in nowadays.

Thanks. Mine was stuck, I really struggled to take it apart. The original paste was cooked, solid concrete. I put some Thermal Grizzly Kryonaught. After the paste I saw that it took longer for the GPU to reach it's max temperature and also managed to get 83°C instead of 89°C. The only solution to cool off this board is by undervolting. I settled for 925mV instead of 1025mV, seems to run at 1200MHz. At this point I have 78°C and I think I didn't lose any performance. I'll keep testing, but time is short.

I changed my thermal paste last night. It made no difference to the highest temperature, but I did notice that the speed in which the temperature drops when it goes from high usage to low usage changed dramatically. I think these chips are expected to be around 70°C when under full load, I'm happy now my card can transfer heat rapidly away.

The fu***** connectors doesn't go out, i replace thermal paste whitout disconnect connectors, only thermal paste, now GPU work great

The most idiotic decision on the part of ASRock is to glue the serial number on the casing next to the PCIe slot. This arrangement prevents honest sellers of used cards from demonstrating the serial number and deviceID in GPU-Z in one take, and also allows fraudsters to simply disconnect the cover from the working card and put it on a non-working one without opening the card itself.

Bless you man. I've just purchased a Second hand 3060TI Gaming OC and it was running at 85+ degrees. Changed the paste & pads and now it's a whole 20-25 degrees lower :D Btw, is this a common issue with this card or with higher TDP cards? The old thermal paste was literally DUST.
