It is! I highly recommend it if you’re in the area and able. We didn’t this time. We usually pop in, say what’s up to the witch, check on the cache, and peer into Gath’s empty tomb, but not this time.

Well, it’s mostly accessible, kinda not really, but mostly, to get to the bridge. I thought it was a ramp on the other side, with like a step every so often, but I was mistaken. Its stairs. And I had to carry the chair to the bottom, then all the way back to the top. UGH.

I’d love to but it’s on an old school camcorder tape, and I have no idea how to get it from camcorder to AFV format. Yeah, it’s lost something since Ryan and I went that first time… and I know exactly what that is. Cinnamon rolls. There was a place there that sold cinnamon rolls. Ryan and I walked around like Shaggy and Scooby that day.

@@trippgibson6305 none at the moment. The last time I stayed at a haunted hotel I got no sleep at all. Every single creak and knock had me sitting straight up in bed. There were also people wandering around the hotel all night “ghost hunting.”

And whoa, talk about a memory… cherry coke and chili cheese used to be my jam.

It’s alright most of the time. August brings the students back and things get busy. There’s always places, like Dayton, where you can get away from them.

Yeah, so did we! On our first trip to Disney in the winter of ‘14 we saw it. We always said we need to check that out. We finally did!

I tried. I got half way up and started feeling the fear creep up on me. I put my back against the wall and managed to make it a few more steps. I could go no further.

Also, to get in you have to take the tiny trail down to the bottom. I’m not sure if there is someone there everyday, but if there is they’ll let you in.

Yeah. I know I can get to at least two of them before summer is out, and I’m already planning on a visit to a third. This may have been a bigger project than I thought it was going to be!

Yeah, they gave us all a lightning lane to use wherever. Finn couldn’t make up his mind, so they gave us the LL, then he fussed, so they let us ride it again. We got to walk backstage for a second and got to see how they move the elevators around. It was interesting, sure, and I might have filmed it, but eh, it’s pulling back the curtain and I think I like to keep the magic as magic. Even after taking the keys to the kingdom tour, the magic hasn’t been spoiled, and I wouldn’t want to spoil it for someone else.

Sci fi was… eh. I’ve got a lot of thoughts, which I’ll probably throw into an insta post soon, whenever I get them all together. Food was a six, atmosphere a nine?

He knows his birds, hahaha. See that thing over there with the wings? It’s a bird. Nailed it.

Ha, he’s always thinking of something silly to do. He loves Tron. He wanted me to pose on the ride like he was. Like an “ULTIMATE POWER!!!” pose is what he called it. It’s not difficult at all to fold the seats down. I thought the driver had them up for whatever reason, and it does kind of give you that feeling, but no, that’s just the default. It’s just like at the movie theater. You just fold it down and sit. Easy peezy, as Finn would say.

It was the only time any of us got to be King, and he raced to get there before his sister did. King of the Bus, first of his name, ruler of the first men and the Andals, long may he reign. Haha

@@4TayFun This was a wildlife filled trip! We saw a hawk and what might have been a bald eagle too (it was nearly dark and we couldn’t quite make out what it was for sure, but it sure looked eagle-y).

Our unofficial rule is try everything. If you don’t like it, don’t go on it. Except when it comes to those gigantic drop towers and swings; those are a hard pass. He loves Guardians. It was the ride he talked about all day; we had a late boarding group which allowed us to do what we needed to do over at Grand Floridian and then head over to EPCOT kinda late. We didn’t ride a lot, but we got to ride Guardians three times and it was incredible! Sometimes E will say “I hate this ride,” but he doesn’t. He hasn’t met a ride he hasn’t liked!

Yeah those are the tree houses. We actually almost booked one for this trip, but they are kinda “rural.” They work like Fort does; you have to take a bus to another bus to get to the park. It’s also a decent walk to Saratoga where all the stuff is. We also thought it might be too much for just the five of us? We thought about taking my parents, and it probably would have worked out great, but again we were worried about the “rural-ness.”

I went on Small World back in ‘86; Harper went on it in ‘14. No one else has been on Small World. The boys know the song and sing it just to drive Harper bonkers. They watched Tomorrowland right before we came so they were trying to figure out if this one was like the one in the movie.

Sorta out of order. I thought it’d be weird if I put out a July 5th video in August, so I put out a more recent thing.

There’s never enough ketchup for him! We love Whispering Canyon. It’s a great way to start the day. It’s a fun breakfast, that just rolls into a fun day.

Yeah, I love it. I haven’t read Fire and Blood, but that book I picked up is like a cliffs notes with pictures. It’s alright. I really just want the last two of Ice and Fire already, but I get it. George is a busy guy, and with the lackluster response to the end of the TV series, writing the end of his book series has gotta be tough. I didn’t see any other GoT books this time, but I got most of the song of ice and fire books here. They did have a bunch of HG Wells books and Stephen King’s Billy Summers, and I thought about picking those up.

I want to tell you everything, but I can’t. She really likes those #jccervantes books. I am still trying to convince her to read LotR, but she thinks they are boring. She might be too young for the George RR Martin books, but I think she’d like them. I’ve started reading the High Republic series; she might like that, but who knows. She’s in a weird spot; she might not be ready for “adult books” but YA might be a little too Y for her? She’s also not really into “the classics,” so…

Hah. I know that right. If I’m going somewhere new, I always look at the map before I go. I mean google and apple are pretty right on, but I always read through my directions before I leave. I always use turn signals too. And windshield wipers.

We rode Flight of Passage twice, Dinosaur, Triceratops Spin and took the train to Planet Watch, but had to come right back because we wanted to do FoP again. We also did the Jungle Trek, and we did Kali River Rapids twice. Somehow we forgot about the Safari and Navi River, and we still didn’t see Its Tough to be a Bug.

I dunno. We really couldn’t taste it, other than some slight sweetness.

I really wish I could film what he’s like when he gets off a ride. Most of the time it’s excitement and he goes through every part of the ride all over again. I don’t know what’s better: him on the ride or when he gets off. Sometimes he’s a grump, because he doesn’t want the ride to stop, but most of the time it’s the most exciting thing ever!

The boy eats all my food. We went to Ben and Jerry’s in Vermont and he ate all my Bourbon Brown Butter ice cream. We went to Bar Harbor and he ate all my blueberry ice cream. We go to Animal Kingdom and he eats all my pancake sandwich. Grrr.

They had not had a ton of rain, and the water levels in the Sassagoula were real low. We had a tremendous storm that night, and it must have rained enough to bring the water level back up because the boats started running again. If you ever stay at either of the Port Orleans resorts, Old Key West, or Saratoga Springs, using the boats is the way to go!

French Quarter is smaller, bigger buildings, I think, but smaller. FQ has beignets, a more NOLA feel, a splash pad, and a sea serpent water slide. There are no “quiet pools.” There is a jazz club and jazz plays everywhere. We haven’t stayed there, but I imagine the rooms are pretty much the same style as they are in Riverside. Riverside is more “Old South,” or even Hannibal, Missouri in the Tom and Huck days. Magnolia Bend kinda look like Plantation homes, while Alligator Bayou is more carved out of the swamp, with the buildings almost feeling like small cabins in the swamp. The main buildings carry the idea of that river town; there’s a boat wright, an old mill, and a stagecoach/steamboat depot. The big pool is on old man island, and feels like it too was carved out of the swamps. Part of the reason I love it is because the theming is so good, it really takes you to another place and almost to another time. Yeah, I know we’re in Florida at Disney, but it’s real easy to forget that. It’s real easy to imagine Tom and Huck running around, and returning not to my hotel room, but to my own little really nice swamp cabin.

Finn can spot fish anywhere at any time. He’s got fish radar.

Yes indeed! There are maybe a dozen of the originals left for me to find in Virginia, and maybe ten more of the new ghosties. Closing in on the end of that adventure for sure.

Yeah. My favorite spot of the day was the mill. It was tucked away in a quiet spot. Hustle and bustle just around the corner, but here was peace and quiet.

I believe so. Might even be able to rent a boat, kayak, or canoe. I’m not sure, I couldn’t find it on the park site, but I saw a plethora or watercraft at the boat landing.

It’s tempting! We went to 13 in Boonsboro, so maybe? It’s about 3 hours or so from us.

A lot. 40 I believe. I’m going to have to start doubling up. And I don’t really want to pay to cross CBBT again just to go to Kiptopeake.

It feels like it’s at the top of the park. That drive up there is wild! It’s real narrow, and it’s a two way until you get to a certain point. I dunno what you’d do if another car came.

After thinking about it after I said trout, I really think they were bass. But I really wanted to hear Finn say trout.

It looks like the one cabin at the end of the street does.

Early spring and fall are perfect.

Yup. She didn’t like that as much as kayaking, but she was pretty good at it.
