That’s why I say get off 81. Try 11, or if you’re feeling adventurous and have the time to spare try 42. It’s not as long as 81/11, and twists and turns all over the place but it’s a nice easy drive, compared to being run over on 81.

How did you learn about Stokesville?

I took a historical archaeology class from Dr. Grier. It was a topic brought up frequently, and I still run across it every now and then.

    So where is/was Stokesville?

It’s out there! Go through Mount Solon, pass Natural Chimneys, hang a left and keep going. Eventually you’ll get there.

Have y’all ever cut your own tree?

I can remember going out and cutting our own when I was young. We haven’t had a real tree in years, but we are seriously considering it for next year.
