The crop is applied automatically. When you export the image, the crop should be included. And yes, the crop tool isn't as intuitive as it might otherwise be. You might try going into settings and trying a non-transparent color to be shown as the cropped area. Thanks for watching.

No question, the selection tool available in RawTherapee is clunky (at best). Thing is, I don't see this being improved any time soon, and certainly not to the degree of commercial RAW editors (LR, CS1).

digiKam will only import them if you ask it to. Otherwise, it indexes them right where that are. Like you, I already have my photos where I want them.

Thanks but after spending hours i found this software not intuitive at all ...and I have been working pro on PS LR etc...just adding folder without importing is a pain, some "albums" cannot be deleted for unknown reasons etc...not sure I will waste much more time...

I'd have to see an example of what you mean. When you download, RT should only include your intended crop.

Crop and you're done. It might be a bit confusing if you can still see the cropped area. You might have to go in to Preferences and select a solid color instead of transparency. You can always download the cropped image, then open it up in another program to verify that it is cropped. It's there; you just might not be seeing it. Thanks for watching.

It would be nice if there were some pop-out options in RT. As it is, we just have the little scroll wheel to move it up and down. Thanks for watching.

The cropped area might be still visible because of the transparency. You can change it to a solid color in preferences. Whatever is inside the dotted square area will be what is shown when you export.

Within folders, it does a decent job of organizing. Across an entire drive, though, you might look into digiKam, which night serve your purposes better. I have some videos here on that software, so feel free to take a look to see if that might work for you.

Personally, I use Shotcut. It has everything I need, plus a lot that I never use. It goes at least 4k, but I'm not sure about 8k. It's actively developed and updates come out several times each year.

RT's interface will probably seem a bit clunky compared to Capture One. The only thing that is really customizable is that you can add a Favorites tab, and the histogram can be switched from side to side. You can also change up themes if you prefer. The tools aren't nearly as moveable as in C1, though.

Try a different browser? I've never had any problems with Chrome or Firefox. Also, are you downloading directly from the app's site? If you're not sure, I would go in through pixls.us to get to the correct download.
