Have you ever tried to sharpen an image with the LAB method within RawTherapee?
On RUclips there are many tutorials (for Affinity photo, Photoshop etc) which show how you apply this color mode for this purpsose.

Thanks for the feedback, Silvio. I have not looked into LAB sharpening. Actually, this is the first I've ever heard of it. I'll look into it and see what I can find.
