I'm seriously interested in the trucking industry and have been doing a lot of research into ways to get my CDL. I have a few friends with experience in all 3 aspects (OTR, regional, local). The choice between going the school route or working for my CDL was tough, but ultimately my finances won't allow me to not have an income. Did a Google search for companies that offer that, and Roehl was one of the first ones to pop up (besides) Swift. I was hoping for more of a review on the company itself with this video, but the confirmation that they treat the employees "right" is reassuring. I submitted my application for the GYCDL program a couple days ago and waiting to hear back. I understand that the pay may not be as great for some truckers, but honestly I only plan to be there long enough to pay off my CDL and get some experience then move on. Are there any drawbacks that I'm not aware of with this plan? I'm a 46yr old Navy vet, so being away from home is not a problem for me. If anyone can provide some initial questions I should ask the company, it would be much appreciated. Thanks for the video I'll try to check out some of your others as well.

They did the same thing to me , and when they finally got a return label sent to my email 3 months later and I sent it back from the ups store i got a bill for 255.46 and now they keep adding 22.50 every month , I'm not paying them shit , there home 5g was slower than hell , we canceled and I switched to starlink. They wouldn't let me return it at the store they said that it wasn't there job .

I did a staples account at USA Truck for that low of pay. If you know anything about staples it is the hardest backing. It's like doing strip malls. Not worth it. They were taking me off good routes to be evil. Just playing games

Words of wisdom bro. You nailed it! Development is the key to the life system, more important than anything else because the result of everything depends on our level of development. People suffer in banefulness and pain and don't realize that it's bcuz of the crude state their minds are in. Don't worry about being mean because whether you are or not doesn't matter. What matters is your growth which is activated by your self-awareness. We transcend problems we become aware of having and those problems continue until we do.

I heard the term “extroverted introvert” a few years ago. It is someone who can interact well with people but the interaction is draining. That’s where the need for alone time comes in - to refuel. There are also extroverted extroverts who are energized by their interactions with people. I am the former. I don’t label myself in a way of limiting myself. I’m leaving Roehl myself, I’ve been here since February, I’ve been having a lot of issues with communication and pay, I’m national with Roehl and run 2500-3000 miles a week one thing I always said whatever company I got to I hope they can keep me busy like Roehl has but the money hasn’t been there. I know drivers here that do dedicated and regional who drive way less miles than I do a week but make around the same as me. What makes me mad about Roehl is if you see their advertising “bring home more get home more” yeah I get home anytime I want and I stay out a month or more at a time but the money isn’t there so I agree 100% with you. You have to work hard to get the miles in here, I’m at 33k miles right now I’m trying to finish my agreement of 40k miles (I came in with a CDL fresh out of truck driving school when I came to Roehl) so I can go to us xpress who offered me way more money than what Roehl is paying me now. One thing I feel like is pretty wild is when you were saying they would barely get you over 2000 miles when I get well over that but I make no more than you did. Im at home right now I plan to clean my truck out, the last time on the road with Roehl I will be putting a 2 month in cause I’m set to start my new job in September but idk if I can last another month here. I’ve had situations where I feel like Roehl has been setting me up for failure, I’ve had loads where I’m told to be there at one time but I get there I was supposed to be there another. Like I had a load last week where I’m told to be there at noon, I’m tied up sitting at a dock at another load that I didn’t even leave until about 12, tell me why that load I was put onto my appointment was actually 9 am that morning while I’m sitting at a dock waiting to get unloaded. This sort of thing has happened a lot and it’s frustrating as hell or this one time I’m told to be at this west rock in Alabama at 5:30am I show up at 5am I get in line and when it’s my turn to get on the scale I get out to talk to the lady at the window to check in, my appointment wasn’t until 2pm that afternoon 🤦🏽‍♂️ and I would have to have my dispatch reschedule me for an earlier time, that day was a waste cause it took Roehl 2 hours to get me another appointment and when I went back I ended up waiting in another line of trucks for 6 hours before i even got to the dock to get unloaded. Roehl isn’t a bad company I have really cool fleet managers that mess with me all the time I enjoy talking to both of them, but it’s like you said gotta do what’s best for you.

I’m a flatbedder at Roehl and I’ve talked to other drivers here and there’s even other videos on RUclips and everyone says the pay is garbage. The best paycheck I ever got was $1050 take home but I felt like I was gonna drop dead lol. Most of mine are $600-$900. I had to ask my dad for help paying my bills because I started missing payments since it took like 6 months to start seeing enough money to get by. I felt so bad. I even defaulted on my car insurance policy. Funny enough though, my dad borrowed my pickup truck one day and someone rear ended him and totaled it. Thankfully he was ok and insurance paid me out 34k. That got me back in good shape financially. Not Roehl. So I’m not as pressed for money now but the pay is still pathetic. So much of the labor is free especially if you’re flatbed. I had to wait 6 months to get per diem while other drivers told me they got it day 1. And it’s not even real per diem it just reimburses your tax. But even then it only pays some of it back so it’s a joke. My buddy works 4 10s, home every night, and makes double what I do driving local. People always make excuses for these companies pulling this stuff and it needs to stop. They scam you, use you, and don’t care about you. They’re even researching self driving trucks so they can run non stop and don’t have to do payroll.

I don't know why yours did not work, I have had it over a year now and I just did a speed test and I got 305.777 Mbps and uplink 21.261 Mbps.... It is working wonderfully.... Every now and then I might get an issue, but it's just like any other service... I am not capped and I have the internet run at least 16 or more hours a day... between entertainment and studying.... Oh and it's 8:45pm and it's great... sorry you didn't have a good experience.

Yes dnt get it, it started good then my signal started lagging, turns out too many people where connected to my tower now, was told " dont worry, we will turn down new costumers because your tower is maxxed" but i said how does that fix my problem, terrible signal

Now speaking of the free time if you are doing OTR, it depends if they give you the same load over and over and you have downtime you can go to certain places. But it depends on the DM you have.
